I can remember when you could go to Owlerton every Thursday from the end of March all the way through to late September. Now it's 14 home matches and three individual meeting's. Last season we had 27 home meeting's that's including championship, challenges, and individual. If we carry on like this speedway will just die out.I agree with what other people have said, people will look to do other thing's and will get out of the habit of going to speedway. June and July we have 2 home meetings in each month. I know if we progress in the ko cup that will be a few more meetings. But for me that's not enough speedway for me.utt

I think Wright will be a great signing for the Tigers, whenever i have seen him i have always been impressed he gets stuck in and gives it a right go. But i would start with Lasse at 5 and see how it goes. What with the new rules at the starting gate some riders might react differently to what they usually do so the points they score could be very different. It might not make any difference. Any thoughts.

I thought Todd would be the weak link in the team last season, but he did the hard job of riding at number 2 and he did very well, So the same again will do and upping his average a bit would be a bonus. Losing Josh G will be a big miss and filling his boots will be very hard. He was an out and out number 1. But i feel the team is stronger overall. If all the riders ride to their potential we should be right up their ( i hope ) utt.

I totally agree with SCB on the riders who will win heats 13 + 15 for the Tigers. If you had seen Lasse at the end of last season he was flying out of the gate, and riding all the right lines. Todd Kurtz was not totally fit last season so i can see him surprising a few people next season. utt

I think the signing of Kyle Howarth makes the Tigers look very capable of putting up a very strong defence of the league title. Looking at the team i would hope that all the riders can up their starting averages. Charles Wright could be a great signing , and once he gets dialled in to the Owlerton track he could be piling up the points. The reserve pairing of James Shanes and Jack Smith looks very promising. James could be challenging for a place in the top five, and he will keep the other riders on their toes. If Lasse, Josh, and Todd ride like they did last season that would be great. Lasse was flying at the end of last season, if he carries on with that form he will be challenging for the number one race jacket. So if we can keep the injuries down to a minimum we should be in for another very entertaining season. Ipswich look to have a good team again and could be our main challenges again. UTT

They said that about J B Blackburn, but saying that Shanes is a more experienced rider. If we sign Howarth i think we will be right up their again. utt.

I trust the Sheffield promoters to do the right thing. I believe they have everything in hand and we will have a very competitive team. With Howarth in the team. utt
-
Well Kyle has been quoted as saying he wants to ride for the tiger. So when a rider says something like that he usually get's his wish.
-
It's all quiet on the team building front for the tigers any news on the Kyle Howarth situation. I hear its a problem at the Workington end but i don't know if that is the case.utt
-
I hope Josh can sort his problems out and that is the most important thing. He need to be concentrating on riding the bike and not other things. There are a few months to the new season ,so hopefully it will be all sorted. The tigers management have said they will give him all the time he needs and fully support him. utt

That's a great signing. Welcome James you will score a lot of points for the champ's. The team is looking very impressive. Now for the Captain Kyle Howarth and i would be happy with Todd Kurtz. Then watch us go.
-
I think you will find that is a mis print and should read Jack Smith. But i would hope that Kyle will sign in the near future.utt
-
So has JPB fallen out with the Tigers or can't he handle the Owlerton track.
-
I have not seen any announcement that we have signed Josh G, Howarth or Woods. I hope it is true but not seen anything.
-
I totally agree. But the points limit will mean they have no choice but to change the team. utt
-
I am sure i have read somewhere that the tigers are running in the championship. They say they are looking to keep most of the champion from last season, and are just waiting for the points limit to come out of the meeting this weekend. I can see the team being all done and dusted pretty quickly.utt

Now that is the big question. Wednesday or Sunday those are the only days available because of the dog racing. I think the plan is to run in the Championship. But you never know anything can happen in speedway. I would like it to be Wednesday. Sunday a no go for me. utt.
-
I like Garrity but to many injuries. I think its the way he rides, not always in control.
-
I could not make the meeting so can't comment. but it's just my opinion.
-
Wednesday for me. Proctor did not impress me the last time he rode for the tigers so no thanks. utt.
-
They run dog meetings on Tuesday Friday and Saturday. So it's Wednesday for speedway. But who no's this is speedway.
-
The team should be as close to this year's. Winning formula.
-
I think we will stay in the second tier and keep most of the title winning riders, maybe just a couple of changes. Josh Bates could do with a move for a season, just to give him a new challenge. If the Premier ride on Monday and Thursday. The only days that don't have dog racing at Owlerton are Wednesday and Sunday. So it's going to be one of those day's. Me personally would like it to be every Wednesday at 7.30pm. If it was Sunday i would not be watching live speedway anymore. I do other things with the family on Sunday. utt.

Sheffield V Ipswich Sgbcl Ko Cup S/f 1st & 2nd Legs
graz gp replied to Blackadder's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If we are to have a chance in the 2nd leg Scott Nicholls needs to step up to the plate and score big points for the tigers, which he can do around Ipswich. So it should be a very close match and should be well worth watching. It also depends on the Ipswich line up. Kyle Newman looked to have a nasty crash tonight,so i would be surprised if he rides tomorrow. But good luck to the champions utt.
