More news on the stadium and what a surprise that they are claiming that with a two month wait for the council to approve it and then a five or six month build that the stadium will not be ready for eight months, ie next Sep or Oct. No, no meeting with the fans.

Swindon does race on a thursday when there is no dog racing and Poole on a wednesday, but Swindon has greyhound racing on monday afternoons, and as per my post, can restrict track prep for a sky meeting which is usually monday, not a major issue unless it rains heavily on the monday afternoon, and who knows what single or couple of days the league may race on in the future.

Which is why one race day in the uk will not be ideal as many tracks share with dog racing which takes place on nearly every day if the week and with those with meetings in the afternoon track preparation on race day can be limited.

It is strange about no dogs at Swindon as you often see the ref come in with their guide dog.

I suppose that could be the case as the head of the car park mafia is a bit of a dick head. Ask them and if they say no ask why they allow dogs at Poole and not Swindon. If they do say no I would ask about leaving them in the car.

No need to ring, I can confirm the gestapo will not allow dogs in. One was bought in a couple of years ago and all hell broke out. They used to allow dogs in and I have no idea why they have changed their minds.

Matt did not want the attendance to be reduced with all the Albanian speedway fans (immigrants) in Poole staying away to watch the footy.

Why dreaming, do you think we will get larger crowds for a league meeting?

Plans look ok and it is good to actually see some progress ( hopefully ), but there are a few issues at this time. 1. Spectators limited to 3500 from the present 4950, which is ok for normal meetings but could limit any major events. Not a major issue. 2. Parking on site 572 spaces, but having more parking off site and free transport to the stadium, off site vehicle capacity and costs unclear. One site proposed is the Groundwell park and ride, not sure of vehicle capacity at this site or the security there in the evenings. These two sites probably limited to under 1000 vehicles in total. 3. The council want to reduce car usage and increase the number of people in each vehicle, but the provision of public transport from Swindon is not clear in times and numbers. Will have to see what is arranged.
