Me and my Shadow -
You dumber ? irony of the highest order .

First of all its a good track but it's hardly the best ever ..it's good racing but hardly any skill is needed so you need to steady down ,I would hardly say taking in gate money and not paying bills well intended in fact a lot people would say it's almost stealing . Not sure what makes your opinion more valid than the next person and trust me I know plenty about what went on to quailed to hold such an opinion ..the bottom line is no matter how you dress it up they have kick out of the sport because they never paid there bills because there business plan was hopeless .and doomed to fail .
-
No offence but when you dont pay your rent you likely to be kick out of your house .i am sure you clever enough to work that out .Morton and Gordon had a awful business plan that was always going to end in failure so it's matters not who wanted there hands on it .
-
Of course not .whoever heard of a promoter putting there bank balance first over rider safely .its already been pointed out on here on how little you understand how the sport runs .
-
There was no successful testing and Gordon and Morton did not believed that the problem had been solved ...you only have to look at what happened about the hose pipe to understand how honest they are ..it's no wonder they were kick out of the sport in the end .
-
Well Done the Race horse of the same name ..just won at Exeter at 9-1
-
? the German Gp the other year was no doubt given a racing licence do think that track was ok ..? Not enough testing was ever done to know that it was going to be ok .the two riders who were asked to test the track the track told Belle Vue that the track had major problems and they never rode the track at night . Graham Reeve was also called up the night before as there were problems with the 3 and 4th bends ..so it's just a load of garbage to say that this problem just happen 2 hours before the meeting started . Have a look back 48 hours before the meeting and your see that the cat was out of the bag that the track had massive problems it was over this forum . Morton and Gordon took a risk to run the meeting due to the ticket sales without making sure the track was ok so the buck stops with them . Of course Phil Rising who happens to be great Friends with Chris Morton tends to miss out a lot of the facts what happened at the time . As I said if Swindon track is not fit for racing next week I won't be blaming the BSPA I won't be blaming the people who done the work I will be blaming Swindon Speedway as it's there job to make sure the track is tested before you let fans into the stadium something that Belle Vue never did .
-
You are the one who speaks rubbish ..It's common sense that Belle Vue Speedway are the ones who must make sure track is fit for purpose before they open (as Swindon will do next week ) no matter who built it in the first place .You don't have to have any facts just common sense , ,You don't and can't reply because there is no answer to that . If Swindon run the meeting next week and the track is not ready I will the blame the club not people who built it as the buck stops with them as it would do in any other business who have not fully checked and ran tests before opening .
-
Morton and Gordon messed up ..they try to run a meeting on a track that was clearly not fit for purpose ,. Thou MCC were at fault for the building of the track but it was Belle Vue who should had ran test meetings etc etc to make sure it was ok before letting a massive crowd in . As I said on another topic ,Swindon have done the right thing by not running the meeting but you really do have to question why this work was started so late .
-
Common sense to not to run the meeting but questions have no be asked why it took so long to start the work in the first place leaving such a tight deadline .
-
I thought every Belle vue said the crowds were down .in fact there were pages about it
-
As has already said teams who at weekends have done bad gone bust it's hardly made any difference ..it's already been done . Thou it's crystal clear that crowds drop when we make teams weaker people still somehow think it's the way to go ..unreal
-
So Belle Vue have never had Monday night as a regular race night in all the years you have followed them ...I trust you suffer from memory loss ? Belle Vue have had Monday night as there race night at the old stadium from what I remember .
-
Poor planning and a massive risk running the meeting so soon after the work
-
Nothing of the sort ..they ran the meeting they were ones in charge ..the track on the night was not fit for purpose and they were told that ..the buck stops with them ...must be a lot of stupid people out there because loads of people came to that conclusion . sadly because Chris Morton was a great rider for Belle Vue the gravy and chips brigade can't see that .
-
Well rather than act like a 2 old child with name calling why not tell us in a adult fashion . Maybe a forum is not a place for if you can't control your temper
-
Spot on .how naïve to think that Morton an co were not there when the track was being built etc If no one was overseeing it then it would still been his there fault as they should have been .
-
Nothing to do with spin .. are you are telling me Morton and Gordon never run tests on the track before the first meeting ..it's a fact that two riders tested the track the week before when they were present and told them it had major problems .of course they took a risk and try to run a big meeting that went ** up . Morton might has been a Belle Vue legend as a rider but as a team manager and promoter he was hopeless and dishonest ..no wonder he was kicked out of the sport
