  1. Having thought about it I fancy Leicester for a point here. Bates/King/Nilsson and MPT will score 40 between them. Gomolski being Polish will enjoy it I'm sure
  2. Houugard is in the same Danish meeting yet Somerset have booked Kurtz. I'm thinking BV have chosen RR now
  3. Clegg hasn't progressed enough though. I'm not going to argue that he hasn't progressed because the numbers suggest otherwise, but compare him to Steve Worrall for example over the same time period. It's not even a contest. 2 solid changes for wolves, now a certain play off team although I still don't think they will travel particularly well
  4. Watt has been absolutely terrible for absolutely ages! Whoever thinks that wells doesn't improve rye (And there are 1 or 2) haven't been paying attention! And I see Starman is along with a solid contender for most irrelevant post of the year!
  5. Can't remember specifically I think it was worral
  6. It's daft that Leicester get a facility because there 2nd string is a D/U but BV don't because KB only does the top league! Who the hell thought that one up?! These meetings are always dangerous.
  7. I'd agree with that. Along with too much grip. I'd implore anyone to buy that DVD. Bias aside, and I genuinely mean that, it's the best speedway meeting I've ever seen. It'll get overlooked because it was a glorified friendly. Seriously. Spend the money and buy the DVD
  8. That's a super post and exactly how I see it. I think some wolves fans are struggling to accept it. That meeting on Monday was dull. There were 2 good races, one excellent outside pass from Howarth and some first bend first lap passes because of mistakes, they were not genuine passes.
  9. You do but that skill is getting harder and harder since the new silencers came in. That is basically what I'm basing my argument around. A really good example on Monday was the difference between Bewley and Smith. Bewley looked as though he'd been riding the thing for years, Smith couldn't turn the bike when the track was grippy at the start. As a motorcyclist you have to be a really good one to make Wolves work. Even Lindgren had issues at the start. I just think with the new silencers and the quality of riders in the league, that if will be difficult to see the quality of racing we once did at Monmore
  10. It also sounded like another gate and go meeting. I was very vocal about the quality of racing I watched at Wolves on Monday which was very poor. I don't blame Wolves for that because the prep is always excellent, its just a small track that requires a lot of technical ability which is so tough on the modern bikes. As a consequence it gives a huge home advantage and any passing is generally from a mistake. KL on the other hand have no excuse. It's a beautifully shaped, well banked purpose built speedway track. I've watched some brilliant racing from the AFA over the years. Now it's just too grippy. The same thing happened at the NSS in the SWC race off and it just became a horsepower show. As a lauded track man buster should have the answer. Slicken it off
  11. Not talking about star riders. Track prep is easy, but too many get it wrong. I'm talking about the size of tracks, that's where I'd build differently. The bikes now are volatile under low revs and small tracks are very challenging. As a BV I endured many years of piss taking on this very forum about our old stadium/team/Track etc etc. I guess what comes around goes around, it's not personal Steve 👍 Spot on. Get your wheels out of line on the thing and you are toast. It's so easy to lose speed but equally as easy to gain it. That's what makes the track as good as it is. It's not all about horsepower, that will fast become a misconception
  12. If you were to keep all teams as they are now, then it's a Poole/BV final. But of course it never stays the same and teams will strengthen. I can see pretty much every other team making changes. Don't let facts get in the way of a biased viewpoint!
  13. He's stepping up this year so far craig. Hopefully he deliver over the season to get him a team abroad
  14. Great team effort. Bjerre has been faultless so far, but an off night and others step up
  15. Even more so on the 'Karlsson corridor'. Once again we threw points away last night by letting it happen. Wolves is nicely prepared and that's great for the riders, but the bikes these days need big open spaces to work well and that makes tracks like wolves a real challenge to ride on. You've got to turn yourself inside out sometimes to keep it on the kerb.
  16. His motor sounded horrendous both on Friday and last night. Welcome Proctor. Certainly strengthen's wolves
  17. It's not and that's going to keep the sport here at the level it is, if your happy with that then good for you 👍 In a perfect world and with hundreds of millions I'd knock down every stadium and build the whole thing again.
  18. Steve if you give me your address I'll post the Peter Craven memorial DVD to you, then you can watch a meeting with 'plenty of passing' 😂😂 That meeting raised the bar for me. It's the best speedway meeting I've ever witnessed either live or on the TV. It's quite possibly influenced my judgement I'm not sure why people introduce the old circuit when we are not talking about it? It doesn't enhance your argument. For the record the place was a dump and the track was poorly prepared. I'm not preaching, just pointing out that the NSS should be the example to follow. The whole package. It's basically a Polish experience in the UK.
  19. Nobody is going to convince me that last night's meeting was decent. It wasn't. It was gate and go, apart from 2 heats. Well prepared it may be, but last night was boring.
  20. That all sounds a little sour. I don't think anyone has suggested that. The NSS is probably in the 5 top tracks in the world. This isn't about my daddy will beat your daddy, it's about using it as an example to move the sport forward in the UK.
  21. It's well prepared wolves, but it's a specialist track. Most passes are the direct consequence of a mistake. I didn't enjoy that one bit tonight. It was crap. I've just got home and put the PC DVD in to watch some proper racing.
  22. Apart from 2 races, it was poor. I worry for the standard some people expect if they think that was good racing. A lot of BV fans have really high expectations now, given what is put in front of them every Friday.
  23. I was also there. The racing was terrible. I pointed as much out to a Wolves fan, he wasn't impressed.
  24. I see your thinking Steve and I'd agree on paper, certainly at the start, you'd look and think potential. But Bewley is delivering. He's actually proving that potential every meeting. He's averaging 6 for Glasgow from 2nd string in his first full season of PL. Beat Andersen this year. Little things like that. I think people look at that baby face and seriously underestimate him. He's a smiling assassin I think Smith is a better example of potential. He's chipping in with points, nothing major, but you can see he will make it if he applies himself and given the right guidance. I think Bewley will go into 2nd string at some point this season. Sedgman will drop to reserve. You heard it here first
  25. Bewley will average close to 11 this season. With respect to the NL, he's a million steps ahead of it. My concern is he will run himself into the ground with so many meetings. He's not just doing 3 leagues he's taking guest bookings as well. The way started for Glasgow and BV he's probably earning more than enough. NL is a development league. Dan is already developed past it, at just 17!
