Belle Vue V Poole SGB Prem. A. 16th April 2018
acef replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fricke aside, absolutely. Something the usual Poole trolls are deliberately failing to acknowledge just incase the unthinkable happens. Belle Vue will be in the play offs and that's all that matters. I've already chalked this one off. -

You have a team of predominantly continental riders who are very familiar with tracks just like the NSS. You will coast it and well you know. -

This will be a comfortable away win. Poole are by far the strongest team and will absolutely love the NSS. Not a home meeting I'm expecting anything from. There will be far easier meetings for us and at the end of the day it's all about the play offs. -
I see Jacobs has called it a day.
-
He's as good as the rest apart from Doyle but that doesn't make him a genuine number 1. He's never ridden that position before. Sane as the others. He will be fine based on the fact he is of a similar ability if not marginally better. I agree many teams are lacking that old money number 1.
-
Also you won't see anything official from Belle Vue for a while. I think Adrian is on holiday and mark is in Australia. Nobody really available to update the social channels. Which imo is poor. Even without a tv deal this team would still be economical enough.
-
We are much stronger at reserve. The team lacks a genuine number 1 but there is solidarity in that top 5. Like I said above, we will likely win all of our home meetings.
-
Etheridge will travel better than Joe. It's a shame a Brit misses out but Jay, imo, is the better rider. We will be strong at the NSS. I'd imagine Drozdz will get along well with the place. Very similar to his Polish track.
-
Unofficially, yes ;-)
-
Etheridge will be fine. I think it's marginally weaker than last year but then so is the league. The main point though is the cost of it and it's clearly not the most expensive so the club will continue. They are thinking like proper owners should and not breaking the business. A new pole will hopefully help crowds there is a big polish community in Manchester.
-
Cook Fricke Tungate Drozdz Worrall Bewley Etheridge That's the team.
-
It doesn't no, and they also run occasionally on a Friday. We will still need to broker a deal with them though. Work alongside not against.
-
So the question to be asked is why have they chosen to go toe to toe with Denmark?
-
No way can you run with around 15 home meetings. Not viable.
-
Wednesday. If poole had their way. It should be Monday. And if Thursday is the day then why didn't Ipswich move up? Can only be Wednesday, which goes up against Denmark.

It's the devil and the blue sea. Reduced admission may work for a short time, but it will slip if the product doesn't change. The sport here needs remodelling. The BSPA needs disbanding, and an independent body putting in charge. Rebuild after that. For as long as the current jobs for the boys continues, so will the brown envelopes.

Wolves -v Belle Vue 10th/11th October Ko Cup Final
acef replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If he fell ill a few hours before how can he possibly get a sick note? On a Saturday? He's not going down to a and e is he? In my industry anything over a week requires a sick note, but these lads are self employed so how a governing body can issue a ban for it is beyond me. There has to be some legality issue there and I'd be challenging it. That said, if he's fudging it then he deserves It, but there is no way the BSPA could possibly prove it and based on that, have no grounds to ban. This is just Chapman's personal vendetta and the sooner he f###ks off out of British speedway the better. -
Who Has Ended On A Bargain Average..?

Jack Smith in a very similar position. Really developed over the last few weeks of the season. As with greaves, that experience will do them the power of good. -

No blame at all on the promotion. The track staff worked a miracle and deserve a lot of credit for providing a track you could still race. Some great speedway tonight. That shower was not forecast. It's just plain unlucky because had that not happened that would have been a pearler of a meeting. They deserve congratulations not a lynch mob. I agree with a lot of what you say on here but your way off with this one. -
Drabik Holder Cook Kurtz Zagar Bewley Bickley/Smith Drabik will be assessed around 6 I'd think. There's a strong Polish community locally so it's a smart idea to tap into it. Drabik is a great shout. I agree with Phil, I can see holder at BV next year. Brady was there tonight, I don't know why, possibly a sponsorship obligation, but I hope we had a word in his ear. Craig is BV all over and now a GP rider (pretty much). Big season for him, think he will lead the team as captain and potential number 1. Bickley at reserve. Jack has started to move forwards at the tail end of the season. You sometimes find all that experience just clicks over the winter and I think Jack will be an absolute steal on his average next season. Kyle will be thrown in at the deep end, but he is clearly very well supported with top quality equipment and that always helps. He can ride our place as well as anyone so would only have to carry him away. His average is just a shade under 7 which is quite an achievement for his first year. He's been beating heat leaders at the NSS all season, and a lot of those lads are 2nd string in the championship.
-
Hmmm Luke looks pretty awkward on the bike, but he's quick. If he loosens up a bit could be a decent rider in there. Agree with Bickley comments, not sure on age barrier but would like to see him in the main team next season. Rules depending I think the main aces team will be Australian dominated in 2018
-
Just hope he doesn't get destroyed like so many before him
-
At the end of the day this is national league racing and all about development. I actually think it's a pretty sad state of affairs that in a league dominated by young British riders, the closest any team has got to the Colts is 16 points at the NSS. It's a big fast race track and 90% haven't a clue how to ride it. Out of the box, we are not producing enough talent. Only Watjenect has done anything of note here and he is clearly a talent. Otherwise, apart from home riders, where Dan Bewley is an outrageous talent, there really isn't anything. As a nation we need to get our heads around big fast tracks. They'll never make it otherwise.

Wolves Vs Belle Vue, 25/9/17, Playoff Semi Final Leg 1.
acef replied to Ace no.5's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The change in machinery over recent times has made monmore a dangerous track these days. It's nicely prepared but the modern speedway bike is just far too powerful. There were more accidents at monmore on Monday than the entire season at the NSS, and I include the national league in that. Those facts speak for themselves. I have to say another shocking display from the wolves fans after the bv riders falling but after last season and ones gone by, I can't say I'm surprised. It'll be last visit to monmore and it's not a day too soon.
