  1. I'm absolutely chuffed that we will have managed to put together such a competetive team given that we have a winter of uncertainty and barely a month to scratch a team up. It is a terrible shame what has happened at Coventry, but we have been aided slightly by the events their. Certainly if Bjerre joins us. We are also working in the constraints of a budget so again, to deliver such a competetive team is a terrific achievement.
  2. Couple of issues with that. We are working to a budget, you'd have to fly Wozniak in. He's also got previous for being dictated to by his Polish club. Missed a number of meetings for Leicester. Bjerre I believe lives in the UK so wouldn't be as expensive. Bjerre is just a logical, affordable choice. With an average he will increase.
  3. I'd have to double check the math but I'm pretty certain swapping king for bjerre would take us over the limit. It was either Fricke or King. Bjerre is uk based so will fit within the budget. He's also one of 5 riders I'd have gone all out for in terms of average improvement. King would miss 8 away meetings. His experience would be vital and on that basis I'm glad he isn't in. Ipswich have priority Question marks on the road at reserve but at home that's a very good unit. 2nd half of the season the reserves will be better for the experience so we can hopefully add some points on the road.
  4. Fricke is in. His van is outside the stadium with his name on. That is a rather large give away. Sedgman is also in. I'm 99% on that. Clear links to lemon. So basically it leaves one slot to fill which will go to bjerre. He is uk based so will most likely accept. No space for King with Fricke now in. I'll stick my hat on the following bring the team: Fricke Sedgman Worrall Bjerre Cook Bewley Smith That is a play off team in my opinion.
  5. Cool. I thought the track on Friday was prepared beautifully. It was smooth. It was grippy. It was stupidly fast. Hence why it took 2 seconds of the track record. But it wasn't conducive to good racing.
  6. You did not say that. You saidif a stadium has ever failed to deliver on its promise step forward the National Stadium. That was a broad generalisation and now you are throwing Friday in to back out of an apology. Soft
  7. If you can't make reference to other meetings then you shouldn't be claiming this track has failed to deliver on its promise. That is out of order. And if you could please enlighten me on said statement about track delivering on Friday because it certainly didn't come from me. I'm out.
  8. Sorry I haven't read the last 20 pages, but I'm guessing your the forum wind up??
  9. Nah. Don't go hiding now. You said this stadium hasn't delivered on its promise. Are you going to apologise for that, or are you going to stand by those words after tonight?? And after the Coventry meeting?? And after the Leicester meeting?? And after the dozen other top quality races on on this track??
  10. Same old people go hiding on this forum. EVERY SINGLE TIME. What a stunning speedway meeting that was. Absolutely fantastic racing. All those knockers last night, I'm calling you out?? Where are you????
  11. I'll break my exile just for you. Your a f%%%%%%g hypocrite. I would seriously LOVE TO meet you.
  12. Some of the reaction on here is really sad. Quite frankly you don't deserve to be speedway fans. Last post for me on here. I'm off to support my club and give them backing they deserve for the work that has gone in over the last 9 years.
  13. There have been several cock ups, from several clubs, over several years of this sports history and on several occasions has been handled insufficiently by you know who. However non have been made an example of like BV, on this occasion and on hosegate. I appreciate your reply, but after years of reading your comments surrounding BV speedway on here I'm of the opinion that you have some type of issue with us. Of course that's your entitlement, but from my end I'm going to leave it here. Cheers.
  14. The 2nd statement should have been about how fans would be reimbursed instead it's a defence letter. The way they've operated the sport in this country I'm incredulous about them contacting us at all. This is now a farce beyond all farces and the sooner we can repair this track, build bridges and get on with the racing the better. At the end if the day it's a stunning race track and as a speedway community we should be willing to give 2nd chances here
  15. So your advocating that it's OK for a sports governing body to publically lambaste one of it own members? You think that's professional? Whether the mistake was BVs or not, that type of behaviour is unethical and unprofessional. Yours and this particular type of attitude is what is wrong with the sport on these shores. I despair
  16. When your own governing body hangs you out before the full facts come to light what do you expect? The BSPA should have shut the f##k up until proper facts established. Now the club have had to defend themselves. Had the BSPA released a proper statement then BVs would have been very different Isnt it just. Yet certain circles want to see the back if it.
  17. Do we think there is a possibility here that we may lose our licence to operate? I don't want to believe that the BSPA would do that, but after reading that statement I would say anything is possible
  18. I'm really glad that this has come from you. Somebody neutral. I'm absolutely appalled by that statement. I'm not excusing BV in this, they've messed up. But for the governing body to come out and slate one of its own members and make themselves look whiter than white is frankly just rude and disrespectful. That statement for me has done more damage to British speedway than anything that occurred on Saturday night
  19. The track isn't rubbish. It's just not bed in and was never going to be after 7 days. The rest of the track that was laid before was mint and you can see it's going to create great racing. People need to stop the witch hunt. This will be sorted of that I have no doubt
  20. I haven't read through any comments. My take on it. It was to soon. The weather had put the entire project about 2 months behind schedule. The majority of the track was laid, 85% in fact, and ridden fine. Bends 3 and 4 were laid on wet ground and is spongy as a consequence. That part wasn't finished only 7 days ago. Yes 7. It was never going to be ready, but when you've sold 6000 tickets I guess you take the chance? What needs to happen now is simple. 3 and 4 need drying out and the problem part re laying. Cancel all meetings at the stadium for a month. This is not plausible I know but is absolutely crucial otherwise we will end up with a problematic track and believe me that is far worse than anything that went on last night. It will be the biggest white elephant ever. They have to correct it today, right now. In respect of the stadium and the facilities, absolutely incredible. In respect of the track, well I'm going to stick my neck out and say it will be one of the best in the world. It's perfect for speedway and a lot of riders are to going to love racing on it. It's a small section of the track. You are spot on in that they will get it right. I think when this is settled Britain is going to see some of the best racing in its lifetime on this track. It's outstanding.
  21. I have to say that first paragraph made me laugh. Talk about naive
  22. Belle Vue are going to struggle in the early part of the season. The team we have is essentially the same as last year, and that was a team built to use the unique home advantage we had. This track will produce, no doubt, but any advantage will be lost in the first few meetings. As a team I think it's well balanced. I have a good feeling about Cook this year, I think he will step up to the rider he wants to become. I have reservations about Richie. He will drop to reserve at some stage and be replaced by his brother. Whilst they're both PL heat leaders I think we are little weak in one of the 2nd string positions. I'm also unsure about Jacobs. Whilst we will always have one top reserve, the league this year is a lot stronger at both 6 and 7 now. I think Zagar will love the new place and will boss it early doors. It all rests for me on Cook and Fricke. If those 2 keep improving we will have a shot. What we also have now is the experience and a winning mentality with Mark. We will make the play offs and by the time they come around we will be dialled into our track, although if there is team that I fear the most around the place, it's Poole. Your team is made of big, fast track riders. Also having a look over now everything is settled, the dark horse for me is Coventry. Wornya will be replaced, I'd imagine, probably by Pedersen at some stage. That will make them a quality team.
  23. Those are riders and officials only I believe. May be wrong though
  24. Track was behind schedule. By the time it had been completed 3 days ago, had you put some kind of testing on, it would have cut the thing up right off the bat. At first I thought it was silly but they've done the right thing. It will have had a good 8 days to bed in and will have been tyre packed like you wouldn't believe. The weather is really helping, finally.
