Dan has raced mx since he was 6 years old and raced at a very high level winning a good few major championships durning his days competing and pretty sure he won or was in the top 3 at the western beach last year While Dan is new to speedway does anyone know his background was he involved in moto cross or other bike sport? -

Glasgow V Edinburgh - League Cup 3pm, 3rd April
mac101 replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Young Dan has been around Glasgow a few times durning the winter at our practice days he was smooth but think racing in the NL which most tracks are really slick then racing at pl level where the tracks have a good bit of dirt on them I think it might just be a step too far this year but looking forward seeing him race -
Glasgow V Edinburgh - League Cup 3pm, 3rd April

Having seen Eric Riss riding Stoke last week he looks pretty slimmer than last year and very quick looking think he will improve big time this year but think tiggers will be too stronger this year for them -
Will be hard for the lad going straight into pl racing he has only ever doing 2 amature meetings around scunny but should manage a few points if stays on which he will around Armadale as most new pl reserve riders riding there will struggle to get around it just look at Ryan Blacklock don't think he managed 4 laps on Friday night and he is a decent NL rider eith a few years experience in the NL pretty sure he will only be there till Mitch gets his visa
-
Heard they have just signed Dan Bewley as their #7 till Mitch gets his visa

Glasgow V Coventry (challenge) 27th March 2016
mac101 replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Coty did really well 5+1 just struggled to get out the gate with have the worst gates in his races 1and 4 where most riders struggled fans were happy with his performance today -
Both Dan bewley and rob shuttleworth both ride for belle vue on the NL which is also a Friday night club which might cause s problem there but whoever they sign will be ring fenced for 4 home matches I think so can't be dropped till after that Edinburgh will need to declare a team and there #7 by Monday 5 days before there first meeting it could take days or months for Mitchell's visa to be passed
-
Pretty sure our bottom 3 will put something on there average

People are saying the club needs to buy this and to do that but they will do nothing really the riders are self employed it's their tuning bills running costs demands etc not the clubs its really up to the clubs to work within their budget and stick to it and if they can't afford some riders demands they move onto the next one that's fits their budget and that rider could price himself out of a team spot pretty sure they would rather ride than sit out It,s still the rider that wins races not the bikes , the bikes are not tuned to go as fast as possible it about gettin the right power curve at the right time on the right part of the track it would pointless having a bike that's too fast and unrideable and spinning way too much and no drive not every rider uses the top tuners either
-
It's not all about points money now it's the complete package most riders are after a van deal a tyre oil fuel every meeting ,mechanic plus workshop facility's accommodation and sponsorship all chucked in
-
They might be a bit little more expensive than standard parts unless your talking Taitanium then that's a different league again but they are definitely a lot stronger better built/made then standard parts and if serviced at the proper intervals they will last as long as any standard part but the top riders will change these parts every other service whether it needs it or not I would never use a piston for more than 2 years that would be around 4 services one at the start of the season and one around 50ish heats mid season a rod should last for years or until it honed to the max size of pin and if you can get the set up right at most tracks your engine will perform without too much stress on it when we go to Armadale on a Friday the home riders engines are pretty quiet flat because the track is pretty much the same every meeting every week butcookies bike always sounded so flat but no one could touch him around there infact he gets the set up pretty spot on every meeting after his first ride just listen to his bike compared to other riders on track if you ever go to watch him then listen to other riders engines screaming there ** off who's engines is working right
