Anyway, back to the meeting. Let's hope we can build on the recent victory over Sheffield with continued input from Sarj,Paco and Darryl and the other 4 performing as we know they can. Given the lack of Foxhall knowledge with some of the Rebels team I would be hopeful of a reasonable size home win. The track appeared a bit better against Sheffield and just maybe there might be a bit of grip for the real racers in our side. We can always hope.

A pretty decent win on a relatively poor night for Danny and it was good to see Paco get some points and a heat win ! He did seem to really enjoy the lap of honor . let's not get carried away though there are much better reserve pairings around than Sheffields but good on him tonight. All round a win to enjoy and hopefully it sets us up a bit for the weeks to come ?

Well, I'm just looking forward to seeing some speedway as all I've seen so far due to holiday then illness is the God awful Scunny meeting at home. As far as any improvement is concerned we will just have to wait and see. As others have said it's now a pretty meaningless fixture but I hope it's a decent meeting with some good racing.

Huge home win unless our top 5 are on fire coz we won't get many points from our reserves, sadly.

I read the said post from Bob and was wondering if it was a wise move to come on here , he was always likely to get some differing opinions ref track prep , hence the subsequent deletion . We can all clearly see the track requires more material and one or two more lines for the racers in the team, it's been far too slick for as long as I can remember . Quite clearly it's a gating tarts paradise unless you are considerably faster than the gater !

Is it maybe a little too early to talk about team changes but if we are thinking about challenging for anything this year our reserves, as hard as they are trying certainly need to be scoring a few more points! We cannot be constantly relying on the top 5 to win matches, it only takes 1 of them to have an off day and we are stuffed. If changes are ultimately required let's hope that it's not left until too late.

Unfortunately as much as it pains me to say it we are carrying 2 riders which means that the top 5 have to do all the scoring. We ain't gonna win too many if it continues, especially away.

Well, a win is a win and I'll take it anyway it comes. However we definitely have issues in the reserve spots and how long is CL going to stick with them? When it comes to the Premier league proper we will need to gain points from the reserves to achieve anything and that just doesn't look like it's gonna happen. I know it's still early days but already I'm thinking we ought to do something sooner rather than later, but of course that's just my opinion.

Driving back to Ipswich currently from Thetford, through a thunderstorm between Bury and Stowmarket and now got wall to wall sunshine, Bizarre day.

I'm craving speedway but having come home from a holiday ill and the predicted cold and wetness around I'll probably give this one a miss.

With the way we've started this season I've absolutely no expectations of what result to expect on Thursday if it goes ahead.

In the cold light of day the season opener against Scunny was pretty shocking really, no support from the lower order riders whatsoever combined with a poorly prepared track that gave no passing opportunities at all. It's gonna be a long tough season of disappointment unless massive improvements are made or changes if team members are not doing the business.

Well done to Scunny, fully deserving of the win. Witches provide 10 heat winners and they get no back up whatsoever, not one bonus point earned by an Ipswich rider the whole night. I know people will say it's only the first meeting but it currently looks as though we have a long tail end and I'm sorry to say it but Paco looks ridiculously slow. Darryl got a few points so must be reasonably pleased. I'm sure Sarj will be much better than he showed tonight as will Lewis Kerr also. Danny did his job, credit to Morten as well and Nico did ok given the shocking track prep. And why would we set up a track that's impossible to pass on the outside because there's no dirt or grip of any kind? Your guess is as good as mine. It could be a long tough season if we don't get the basics right and that was the perfect example of how to get things badly wrong! Onwards and upwards, hopefully.

Normally arrive 7ish or shortly after, gotta get our spot you know, can't have the heaving hordes moving in on our territory.

The more I look at this one I think it could be closer than alot of people are suggesting, I hope I'm wrong and it's the first step towards making Foxhall a fortress. Only approximately 24hrs now and we will know! The weather forecast seems to be dry but flicking cold so wrap up warm to anyone coming.

Klindt or Sarjeant?

I assume that even with the introduction of the 3 pt reserves that the meeting race format is remaining the same this season , does anybody know ?

There is a definitely small but growing band of forum members gathering in the same location as the Bald wise one in the back straight stand. Would be interesting to meet other members who maybe we've crossed swords with online.

Did I read somewhere he's not using the same make of engine this year?

Oh well, Lewis withdrawing from the Ben fund meeting with flu and Danny being pants, only scoring 3pts doesn't really bode well for the new season as yet. I assume Danny not even making the 2 minutes in his first ride was down to bike issues, does anybody know? Hopefully everything will be put right before Thursday.
