  1. What a good idea ... have a challenge match against teams of the same standard as the current Rye House team.... When will uncle Len wake up and smell the coffee.... Why doesn't Andrew Silver step and run the club - someone with a little more nous than Uncle Len and uncle John...!
  2. To be honest mate if you go to all the home meetings as well the you must be a Sadomasacist
  3. Great Entertainment, PL Speedway is a great product.... Really enjoyed last nights meeting.... So much better than Elite League speedway bore... On saturday watched Rye House 44 Plymouth 46 and then this last night Zomerset 44 Edinburgh 46 Close close meeting with plenty of racing!!! Sky should defo plump for PL speedway in 2014...
  4. I couldnt quite believe that either very strange decision... I finally returned to Rry House - as shocked that Uncle didn't call off the meeting with cloud in the sky over the Hoddesden... A desperate meeting - cold, slow , crap track conditions, dust!!! Gutted for Olly and Jason - Very dissappointed in Nelson hope to see him perform better than that - looked unable to ride along side Mellgren. Rob Mear was awful and a shadow of his former self, and Lambert looked so uncomfortable on his bike - look liked a NL rider at best... and to blow away a 10 point lead with 3 races to go was just unbelievable.... Well done to the Plymouth devils!
  5. Should be a good test of The Rockets unbeaten home premier league campaign.... shame about Beck!
  6. Point taken but come on how many over the last 10 seasons at Rye House?
  7. have to say I can never recall Uncle Len or John Sampford ever being ruthless when it comes to team building and replacing underperforming team members...... Always stick with the team and encourage them to turn it around..
  8. yep good news to see Rob Mear back in the fold at Rye House....
  9. but only 3 a piece at home from Albin, Koppe and Knight did nothing to help your cause - as for Joe Haines - nowhere near the rider he was a few seasons ago....
  10. great performance by Rockets 3 heat leaders. Hope Garrity is okay... Good to see Lambert back!
  11. THE SHEFFIELD WINDOW CENTRE TIGERS welcome back Richard Hall on Thursday as they attempt to climb a 14-point mountain in the Premier League Knockout Cup. Hall returns after three weeks on the sidelines with a dislocated shoulder and gives the Tigers a boost, as they have lost every fixture he has missed in that period. Rye House won the first leg of the tie 52-38 and will go in to the second leg as firm favourites, but team manager David Hoggart is hoping Hall’s return can spark a comeback. “We’ve really missed Richard, the rider replacement facility just doesn’t work for us so having him back in the side will make a big difference. He was absolutely flying before the injury so if he can pick up from where he left off we’ll be a much better outfit. “We know how difficult our task is on Thursday, hopefully Richard’s return can help us overcome the deficit from the first leg.” One piece of bad news for the Tigers, though, is that they will still be without a full side as captain Simon Stead expects to be on the sidelines for a fortnight with a broken bone in his left hand. Craig Cook deputises for Stead in the KO Cup while Olly Allen, who is looking to take Sheffield down on Thursday, takes his good friend’s place at Somerset the following evening. Of Cook, Hoggart believes Sheffield have an excellent replacement; “Craig is in sensational form and on Monday he was very close to getting on the podium at the British Final, he was really keen to help us out and I couldn’t think of a better man to replace our own excellent number one.” Sheffield; Craig Cook (G), Facundo Albin, Joe Haines, Richard Hall, Ricky Wells, Damien Koppe, Jake Knight. Rye House; Olly Allen, Rider Replacement for Jason Bunyan, Anders Mellgren, Jason Garrity, Tyson Nelson, Kasper Lykke, Guest TBC. Sheffieldspeedway.com
  12. Big Sheffield win but hopefully not by 15 points....... Sheffield Tigers 88 Rye House Rockets 92
  13. good call but I think Nelson will be riding tomorrow barring the weather ....
  14. Should switch to Tesco Mastercard! Would get loads of clubcard points !
  15. would loved to have seen Worrell, Cook or even Garrity....... someone young and raw.....
  16. finally got to watch this last night - what a great great advert for PL speedway - thoroughly enjoyable and some great contests..
  17. fecking joke uncle Len. I travelled with my Kids 20 miles from Saffron Walden - not a cloud in the sky on leaving at 6.15pm or arriving back at 7.15pm Upon arrival Hoddesden at 6.45p was grey and spitting with rain - but dry... Saw Jason Garrity Leaving the track @ 6.50pm - what had he been doing? Practising on a watelogged track or did he not get a message in the morning that it had been cancelled... This is about the 3rd time this has happend to us in the last couple of seasons - Didn't even check to see if meeting was on because I thought it was a nalled on cert! No wonder crowds are falling at Rye!
  18. Rye House team manager John Sampford visited injured captain Jason Bunyan in Harlow Hospital this evening and was very pleasantly surprised, to put it mildly, at the positive news he received. “The latest indication is that the damage is not as bad as it first sounded on paper. Yes, he’s got broken ribs, but the breaks are not as severe as they could have been. And the lung puncture is closer to a nick, which is also very lucky. The vertebrae must obviously heal naturally. “Jason is already sitting up in bed, which is something in itself. The doctors want to get him active as soon as possible to help the blood flow and aid the healing process. The initial indications yesterday were that he could easily miss half the season, but Jason himself is determined to be back in action sooner than later, maybe as early as a month’s time, which would be remarkable. He is one tough cookie. “I have also spoken to (broken ankle victim) Simon (Lambert), who is going to his local hospital tomorrow. What they say will determine what he is able to do to aid his own recovery, but we are probably talking six-to-eight weeks out.” Where Shadders where?
