  1. So do you believe Reading is an appropriate venue for a World Final ???
  2. Just looked back as I remember this being posted some time ago. In fact it was 7 December and interestingly was rubbished at the time. So just why has it taken so long to announce. Can't wait to see the faces of people turning up at the old dung heap for a World Final. I reckon they'll all head off to the Madjeski thinking it must be there rather than in some ramshackled old wooden dump. Flies against everything BSI have tried to do with the GP series by taking it to capital cities and fine stadia.
  3. Can't be Pat, the burger is only half eaten, nobody but nobody is quick enough with a camera to catch the Pie Man half way through demolishing a burger
  4. That'll never happen, he's got a small fridge fully stocked in that van you know. You may even notice the Ginsters sponsorship on the side of the van. Meant to say Pat, Ginsters are Buy One Get One Free in Sainsburys at the moment. Sorry if anyone in Gloucestershire was wanting to eat Pasties this weekend but all Sainsburys stores will soon be reporting a shortage
  5. Spot on Grachan. The cynic in me says that with BSI supposedly taking over at Reading they currently have a tool to entice riders, what chance Zagar now stay with Reading and is joined by Niels Kristian Iversen in 2006
  6. And you of course lose any rights you may have to be included if you finish outside the Top 8. It doesn't matter how close he was to 8th place, he didn't make it so has no argument. Maybe he has had his chance and should not get another one The only issue is that the reinstatement of Lee Richardson is again a joke, he has now failed to make it 3 times by right and should not be in the GP's. He has had 2 decent GP's in 3 years and that isn't enough to warrant his inclusion, he if course also went backwards in his scoring last season.
  7. And won by Scott Nicholls Fine coverage at http://speedway.vmnet.cz/finale.php?rok=2005 First one I have missed for a few years sadly
  8. Crikey. I went to Sparta in 2002 and it cost 100Kc (Around £2) to watch an international football match
  9. Well after seeing that, nobody in their right mind would have carried on riding in that weather. Seems to me that BOTH riders could have forced the issue by BOTH refusing a run off and making a restage happen.
  10. Sounds like if the track wasn't fit for racing then nobody should have been expected to go out for a run off. A very sad way to end such a prestigous meeting, really sounds liek a restaging should have been the right way forward Having said that congratulations to the new champion, I have no doubt he would wanted to have won in differently but the record books will say he is the champion and nothing will change that. He of course almost won it in 2002 when losing a run off to Lukas Dryml, that was the first time I had seen him ride and was impressed with him then. Of course until he rode for Poole, I doubt Shovvy had ever heard of him so that probably comes as news to you Steve
  11. I saw the band play at Lol Hare's benefit dinner in Ipswich and they are very good. There's loads of them
  12. Fritx Wallner is on his own track and is certainly no mug, certainly likely to be a spoiler
  13. But not committed enough to miss a TV photo shoot to ride for his club in an important fixture on Thursday it appears. Maybe its commitment to individual events you were talking about Steve.
  14. Wouldn't it be nice to hear an interview with him before a meeting where he wasn't giving an excuse why things may go wrong. One day he will be interviewed and say that everything is perfect rather than his tuner is ill, he's ill or sopme other sympathy grabbing scenario. Not saying he wasn't ill but geez doesn't it get tiring
  15. Just a reminder that they are Team GB......yes GB. Maybe someone should remind Scott Nicholls and Floppy that its GB.................not England
  16. I am certainly looking forward to seeing Schultz mixing it with these guys. I have seen him look very impressive on the continent and he clearly has a bright future
  17. Bit touchy Minder !!! What did you think Bryn meant other than they way most people would read it
  18. I guess I was watching the same one. Its all about opinions though, and as has been said many times none of them are wrong
  19. Garbage in my view. Rickardsson knew he was going to get nothing a took a chance which paid off. Had the two riders positions been changed the decision would have been different. My criticism of the referee was that he was inconsistent. He didn't look at the video of the Rickardsson one but didi on the others. Crump was unfortunate in the first exclusion which should have been all 4 back yet when Bjarne Pedersen gets out of shape on his own he let him back in !! Greg surely had the racing line on Jason and Jason chose not to shut off, can't exclude the guy who is clearly in front. Let s get away from this the referee has cost Crump the title, its crap. Crump caused his own problems by getting himself into impossible situations, it wasn't the referee who missed the start and made the mistakes he did. The referee was responsible for one mistake of the 3 and in this format he should be able to cope with one nil pointer to his name.
  20. Come on down and see him Trees, Star Lady is coming on Thursday !
  21. Row 17 is where my season ticket is for the Welsh football internationals and you can see the whole stadium from there, much further back and you will not be able to see the whole of the stands opposite if you are the side of the pitch
  22. Should have added that if you want to fly from the south to Prague for thr GP weekend you can do it for £65 out of Stansted, £65 out of Gatwick or £100 from Nottingham going Friday coming back Sunday with Easyjet
  23. For the Czech Golden Helmet weekend going Wed 28 Sept PM and coming back Tuesday 4 Oct Evening Easyjet - £52 BMIBaby - £85 Czech Airlines - £161 I guess it depends on when you want to go but for me in September I stand by my £100 difference. The Easyjet price was for a booking of 14 people, the other two for for single travellers. If you increase the CZA booking to the max allowed in one transaction (5 people) the price goes to £200.70 each. So I reckon I am saving £2080 on my 14 bookings. I reckon I could buy a few airline meals for that
  24. I booked a flight for 14 people to Prague for the Golden Helmet weekend just before Xmas with Easyjet out of Nottingham for £52 pp. So far I have flown to Prague with Czech Airlines, BMIBaby and Easyjet and only had an issue with BMI where I couldn't get on the return flight and had to be transferred to Easyjet. Paid £150 with CSA, and around £50 with the other two. All flights have been on time except a 3 hour delay leaving Nottingham with BMI in 2003 To be honest on a 90 minute flight I can do without an airline meal and I am happy to save £100 by doing that.
  25. No riders going round but you can a few pictures of the stadium here http://www.apwj49.dsl.pipex.com/lost/eastvill.htm
