Classy Poole fans yet again.... Rarely do you hear such a large number of fans boo an opposition rider going down so loudly than we hear all too often at Poole. Before Poole fans tell me XYZ fans do it too, get your own house in order first. Ht1, clearly a first bend accident, and the moron Poole fans boo Harris. They Cheered when Ellis goes down in ht4 (before waiting to see if he was ok). Now booing Harris the moment he slipped off. I truly hope Belle Vue stuff them in the final. Poole fans year after year show they lack class.

Ermolenko really does not like Niki does he, his punditry views on screen are very much anti Niki in every 50/50 incident.

No reason the Premier League can not be 7-days a week still. For the Elite League (joke name) if going one day a week is to attract the big names, I wonder if Wed or Thu night may be better. The problem with a Monday night is the GP boys would then have to race Sat (GP), Sun (Poland), Mon (UK) and Tue (Sweden).
-
Lot's of reasons why Sweden is better, why the UK tracks could never compete etc, etc, etc, but very little talk 'ok lets do something about this'. Have the BSPA, clubs actually spoken to the top GP riders and asked the question what would attract them to the UK? Seems more and more that a one-off race night is the way to go to attract the big boys, in theory that would make it easier to negotiate better TV deals too. The fans want the best riders in the UK, the TV companies would too so the promotors need to look at what's needed to make it happen and find solutions for the problems.

I thought the racing last night was pretty good, and after the first four heats track grade the track seemed to have settled down, and the riders were attacking the track throughout the night. We see far worse GPs frequently. -
I don't think anyone as suggested wildcards are only given to deserving cases, we all know it is not the case. But it should be the case in my opinion!

And? it's a DISCUSSSION forum. Unless I missed it in the forum rules there is no limit to a thread post count where something remains discussable.

Tough... sport is meant to be a challenge and should not be about free passes. Weaker riders will either improve or drift away, it's what sport is all about. Giving those whose 'face fits' with certain people a free pass into the SGP is unfair on those who attempt to qualify. The only exception I make to that is when an existing SGP rider is in the top eight already and then gets injured preventing them remain in the top eight.
-
But when we start going down that route (ok I know BSI already do) it is no longer sport, it's a business. BSI have to run it like a business, the rest of us should view it like a sport and call BSI out when they forget the fact it is a sport. I hate the hosts getting seeded to the final for the SWC for the same reason and I hate the wildcards for the SGP (unless because of injury season before). Speedway is a sport (or should be), and the best in the world need to earn their right to be in the elite SGP. In Ward's case I have no doubt he will qualify, but that's the point, he should qualify (be that from scratch or at minimum SGP qualifier).
-
No problem with that, so in your words if Ward is allowed back in the selection process, that starts with the qualification system which means we wont see him in the GPs until 2017 at the earliest. The thing is, if Ward had come out and said 'sorry I made a mistake, it won't happen again' I would be more inclined to say he's served his time so time to move on and back his wild card entry. But to my knowledge he hasn't, so screw him, let him qualify the long way. If a compromise is needed, give him a seeded place in the GP qualifier, but he should not be given a place in 2016 unless he earns it. Same with Emil, I want him in the GPs but he walked away from them, so if he wants to come back GP Qualification minimum, if not full qualification route.
-
That seems like a fair compromise if there is a place available in the GP Qualifier. Otherwise see you in 2017 Ward.

This forum is full of clueless people. How can it be a clean pass if when during the pass the riders rear wheel spins out and takes out the front wheel of the other rider. That's hardly a clean pass is it! -
Still a right miserable C*** I see. Still unsure if it is chap or another word. Although seeing you mentioned him.. he was screaming like a fool louder than ever on Saturday.

The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock
TheReturn replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Funny, didn't Doyle say something similar about Kildemand? Hancock again showing his lack of professionalism by having another public dig at Nicki when interviewed, he could easily have answered another way without stirring publically like that. Hancock's really shown himself up over all this, although it may be a smokescreen for his prowess on track starting to fade, he was easily bullied over a couple of times Saturday. -
Baaah.. so many sheep at Cardiff all booing Nicki. Embarrassing how such a large number of people are so stupid to have fallen for Hancock's bleating.
-
I think when you take into consideration all the flights he needs to take across Europe, rent or hotels, mechanics wages before you even get to equipment costs it is perhaps not overly expensive?

King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July
TheReturn replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I always thought sport was about winning... not losing by a small margin. It's ridiculous... then again, the team that wins the league at the end of the season is not the champion, so I expect nothing less in this stupid sport. -

The old bonus point system could have done that job too and it's a much more positive way to earn a point. -

I just hope the officials are strong on Saturday and don't fall into blaming Nicki for everything and actually protect Nicki. -
King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July
TheReturn replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
One reason the sport is dying is the rules. Last night we heard very little about what the winner gets, all we heard time and time again, the loser gets a point for losing by less than 6. Ridiculous. Race to win, not race to lose by less than 6. -

TheReturn replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So little talk about a professional speedway rider thinking he had only done three laps? To quote the great Kelvin.. 'I find that very odd'. I don't think I have ever seen a rider pull his own cutout before either, another odd thing. I have seen cutouts come out in close hard racing but not like last night where it came on it's own seemingly? -

Yep, his comment, was something along the lines of 'good preparation of a good track makes good speedway'. How right that man is! -
King's Lynn Vs Poole 1st July
TheReturn replied to Star Lady's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Really? Surely anyone who understands speedway would not have called that after the first bend the way the racing had been all night. That was one race destined to be raced for four laps, and indeed it was and changes occurred. Calling the score after the first bend of any speedway race is pointless, and can give the impression speedway is all about gating. -

I was thinking the same. Still, it's done now, hopefully the BSPA will do all they can to make amends and give this young man everything he wants to help him progress in the sport.
