  1. Could do with getting a training track up and running again, unearthing new local talent, those were the days.
  2. Wouldnt surprise me if the opening meeting was Sheffield VS Owlerton Outlaws. Wouldnt surprise me if the opening meeting was Sheffield VS Hull Vikings 7.
  3. Regardless of what points Wells scores he still gets a lucrative appearence pay off.
  4. Lets just hope Ricky Wells takes riding for Sheffield a little more seriously this time round. I couldnt believe what i saw sometimes, i mean in one meeting for Sheffield at home he's trailing behind Theo Pijper, and then in the next meeting for Wolves he's beating Darcy Ward !, highly frustrating, seemed like he was just riding Sheffield for a quick pay cheque and that his full commitment is with Wolves. Could we have got better ? IMO yes we could, I'd have rather taken a punt on Taylor Poole, very young, very hungry, a racer and could combine well witht he current team. My expectations for the 2013 season?: A mere mid table finish is what is expected IMO, looking at other PL lineups they jusy just seem to carry more strength. I feel Simon Stead will be carrying this team and will probably be the only consistent big points scorer home and away, with the occasional points haul at home from Richard Hall and maybe Haines/ Albin. As always i will be there supporting my team.
  5. some rite old women on here, its a forum, you cant even post a comment without someone getting touchy or arsy. ALl I said was I thought Albin was a bit of a leg trailer.
  6. I always thought Albin was a bit of a leg trailer?
  7. on another direction also, I like the style of the Sheffield racejackets, the wide shoulders and bib style look suits the riders well, have always been a fan of those. I would like to see a slightly different patter/ style on them though, maybe even a bit of gold.
  8. any ideas / rumours on who the opposition is for the opening fixture yet, we have had the war of the roses for a couple of seasons now, would like to see how we fare against the likes of Coventry personally.
  9. Personally i think Wells is going to sign sometime soon, its obvious. Here's my view of the lineup so far, please let me know if you feel the same. Stead: The out and out number 1 we have needed, feel he will do a bit of a Sean Wilson and be pretty much untouchable around Owlerton and will pull in good point away, will have a solid season as skipper and can only benefit the younger guys. Haines: Showed flashes of his old self towards the end of the season, chipped in with some good points at home and on the road. Im expecting a further step up from Hainesy this year. Albin: Unknown to me until we signed him! ive done some scouting around and from what ive seen and read he is a hard racing young rider with great hunger. On good machinery, and with the leadership of Stead i think this kid could suprise a few people, the signing reminds me of Legault. Koppe: I for one was quite excited about Koppe's signature, he can ride a bike, and is another hard racer. Can he cut it in the PL ? I think its going to take Damian quite a few meetings before he gets really dialled in and settled, but you never know, dont write him off too soon. Hall: A signing that I could see coming a mile off. Big season for Richard, He is an owlerton track specialist and on his day there he can be unbeatable. I really like Richards desire and will to want to ride for Sheffield it pleases me, however we need a bit more solidarity on the away circuits, nothing would please me more than to see Richard scoring big points away... but can he do it? we shall see. Knight: I think when Jake's signing was announced i was in shock for a few minutes as at the time there were some really hot 3 pointers available, however it's all about giving the young Brits a break and a shot in the PL. Jake has a good pedigree, is very focused and comes to us with some good machinery. From what I have seen he can ride but PL competiton is high, can he keep up with the pace ? i hope so, Jake seems like a good lad who wants to go far. Some may disagree but this signing reminds me a little of the Sam Martin capture a few seasons back.
  10. Wolbert would be a very welcome addition for me.Think he just about fits with the points we have left.
  11. If i could meet you now HalifaxTiger I would shake your hand, that is the most spot on post i have ever read on here.
  12. Nedermark or Poole for me please. Im even sure that the old hardcore keyboard warriors on here who think they won the site would agree with me on that one. own the site even !
  13. If its Jakobsen, Sanchez or Pepe Franc then I am going nowhere near a meeting next term.
  14. Was walking back from the KFC opposite Owlerton last night and saw what can only be described as two blokes in kevlars kicking and punching the track office door?
  15. The next rider will be one of: Truminski Loof Magosi Bollards Leverington Hefenbrock Burza Poole Ricky Wallace Bonky Sitera Pawlicki Ritchings Jaimie Pickard.
  16. Bit of a long shot but what about Bonky ?
  17. Im told that Plymouth have signed Bonky, anyone else heard this ?
  18. I'm hearing that a "take it or leave it" offer is now firmly on the table for Wells. If he has now accepted by early next week then its all over. And guess who is lined up to fill the last slot........... Chris Schramm. Oh dear. *not accepted
  19. Must admit i'm a bit jealous of the Joey Ringwood signing, he will surprise quite a few people next season. For those who have not seen him ride - he is capable of awesome outside blasts, riding the boards is his speciality, a "never say die" rider. Also recall him pushing Darcy Ward all the way for four laps, then flattening Damien Koppe in his next ride. Also recall him completely smoking tyson nelson - by riding the boards and reeling him in!. Enjoy him Glasgow fans, you have a decent looking line up, Joe Jacobs is also an amazing signing.
  20. Hi all, not posted for a short while. For me, If Wells doesnt sign then i think the best outcome we can hope for is Hall & Nedermark IMO. Wasnt really convinced with Wells, had a few good rides towards end of season but the season as a whole was terrible. I also apologise if this is a stoopid question but has Andre now fully retired ? I'd have him back, could come in on a low average and demolish riders at home.
  21. Stead Haines Albin Wells Hall Koppe Knigh Ritchings
  22. hope this is not true but apparently Klaus Jakobsen and Richard Hall are the final peices of our 2013 jigsaw.
