Sheffield Vs Leicester Pl 30/5
OdsalBoy replied to lionking's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hi All, I would just like to apologise for my assessment post i made earlier. From my point it was an honest post, i have re read it and really cant see anything insulting in there, just my opinion as a genuine life long sheffield fan. I would really like to offer my apologies to anyone annoyed or upset by this post. I am Sheffield through and through and i love my team. Going forward I would like to confirm that i will keep my opinions to myself and just be a reader rather than a poster. Once again to all concerned, I would like to sincerely apologise and to say that i am sorry. all the best. OdsalBoy. -

I am 90% sure that this one will be called off. I am in Leeds but the rain has poured down all night, is still raining heavy as of now (07:35am), cant see it being much better in Sheffield. -

Well, I am not too convinced that we will win by such a great margin. Lets keep it real people. Here's my rider breakdown: Oliver Allen : Olly is no Simon Stead, but hes capable, a strong number 1 and knows Owlerton well. Expecting him to lead by example and hit the points. Facundo Albin: This young thrill machine has had a bit of a wobbly couple of weeks. Expect the unexpected with Albin. Will ride the boards, lay the bike down and hit useful points. Joe Haines: Yawn, one of the Sheffield "passengers" Im afriad, too inconsistent, looks off the pace, but i hope joe proves me wrong and bangs points in. Concerned. Richard Hall: Hally is a new rider since his old mate Stead has been back, will want to blow the cobwebs off and Show Olly Allen a few fast lines around Owlerton. Near max expected. Ricky Wells: Ahh Ricky! what a season he is having eh? He is our points machine at the moment and i expect this to carry on against Leicester. Jake Knight: Now that jake is full time PL we can see him relax and grab the bike by the bars, Jake will want to be in the mix from the off. But will he? Damien Koppe: Low score expected im afraid, this meeting could be his last in a Sheffield racejacket if an adequate score is not provided. Gutted as i for one was expecting better things from Damo. Please prove us all wrong. -

Can someone confirm wether its Ashely Morris at no.1 for Dudley? A colleague tells me that Ashley will not be riding tonight and Edinburgh's young aussie Max Fricke is riding in his place. Anyone confirm? -

An interesting meeting lies ahead, heres what i predict. Haines: - Should card a maximum against NL opposition. Tyrer: - Will want to put on a good show, no doubt about it. A good meeting expected from Jordan. Jake Knight: - Again should card in a decent score tonight. Damien Koppe: - Writing could well be on the wall if this guy doesnt hit a score tonight. I like Damo but i just cant see him hitting it large tonight. Owlerton doesnt suit him. Facundo Albin: - Facu should have an easy shift tonight, expecting double figures from him. His riding style is just too hot to handle for NL level. = my prediction = 3 3 3 3 3 = MAX Matt Williamson: - Who knows? Hayden Sims: - Really excited about seeing Hayden sliding around Owlerton, from what ive heard he is going to be something special, will probably hit a maximum, then sign for Rye House. Dudley Dangermen = Lewis Blackbird, Paul Starke. -
Hearing a lot of noise that Bonky is being lined up for a deal with Sheffield.

what average would andre compton come in on iof he were to be tempted back?

I totally agree with yorkshire tyke's post so i am going to give my opinion now. In my opinion - Hoggart you are no good at team building, useless in fact. My wife could put together a better 1-7 than you. I feel that you are destroying what was once a force of a club. If team changes arent made then I am going to be £30+ better off each week because I refuse to come and pay to see this humiliation each week. For the past few seasons now Hoggart has been left in charge while Neil jets off to OZ and look at whats happened. Hoggy has to go, we need a decent solid team manager and a couple of team changes and fast.

Well Sheffield were opened up like a tin of beans tonight. this is getting woeful and paying this amount + drinks every week is becoming more of a strain than a treat. Are the promotion seeing something different than us fans? We NEED to make changes this just inst good enough. I respect the boys so much but we are getting our butts handed to us far too often, bring back the days when owlerton was a fortress. We even have oppostion members commenting how woeful our team is. Retain Stead, Wells, Hall, Albin, Knight. Release: Haines, Koppe, -

Craig Cook: Cook will do us proud. The form he is in then I am confident of a maximum if not very close. Will want to get his head down, tuck in round the bends and smash in some points. Excellent choice of guest. Facundo Albin: Facundo will want to thrill - there's no doubt about it. This could be the week where we see him really fly. He will do anything possible to have the crowd holding their breath. Will thrill, ride the boards and pull in some useful points. Joe Haines: Oh Joe Joe Joe, one of our weak links im afraid. not expecting much if anything from Joe. Yawn. Richard Hall: . Chuffed to pieces that Richard is back. He was in the form of his career prior to his spill. I can imagine Richard will have Steady in his head cheering him on and I reckon Richard will bounce back and card a maximum, Owlerton is his bitch. Ricky Wells: Ricky Wells... Is stepping up to the plate, Ricky will want to share some love with the Sheffield faithful by rounding up a neat healthy score at Owlerton, watch him go. May turn up in Wolves kevlars..... Jake Knight : Jake made a bold move this week and has scored big Kudos with the Sheffield faithful. Jake wants it at Sheffield, I feel he is going to reel in some usefule points. A charming young bloke who deserves his shot. Jake to chip in. Damien Koppe: I am feeling Damo's pain. Owlerton just isnt his track, he looks arkward at times - and the Sheffield fans can feel it. Damo is an accomplished stylish motorcyclist who I am sure will want to bring something to the table, but will he? my prediction from Damo = 1 -
id love to get someone in on a 7, as spin king rightly says it will totally change the dynamic of the team, its OK carrying one rider but at the mo its worse than that. Albin at reserve would be a force. I know though that Neil doesnt like bringing new riders in once the season is underway, but we shall see as it needs to be done. Swap Jake for Benji -yes please. Matt Tressarieu a possibility ?
-
Ahh ok, sorry i didnt know that about Rocco, wish him all the best. I was talking with Steve at SJP and we agreed that its likely that changes will be made soon. But who seriously is available. If i could make the changes myself i would change (and it pains me to say this) Damien Koppe and Joe Haines.
-
Id probably say not to Paul Starke, nothing against Paul, but I don think he is what we are looking for and probably wouldnt be consistent in PL, would be a case of "same meat different gravy" in my opinion. Sedgemen or Poole for me please, would either of those fit? If i had my way = Rocco Scopollite.

Sheffield Vs Redcar Bears - Thurs 2/5/2013

what are you talking about a guest for? its most definitely R/R for mr Hall... -
OK - so i'll start this one rolling. I predict a nice home win here, although i do think we need to be careful of Ulrich Ostergaard and Micky Dyer. Other than that I can see a nice win coming our way. So... Lets break it down. Simon Stead: Our number 1 stormed to a fine Berwick 15 point haul, expecting the same tonight. Will lead by example and show the Owlerton faithful why he is the leagues best number 1. Facundo Albin: Will do everything possible to thrill, will lay the bike down, commit, ride the boards and do everything in his power to pull in a healthy amount of points. Joe Haines: Who knows? maybe this is the fixture where he shows some consistency, and pulls in a few useful points. Ricky Wells: Has been in dominant form of late, might just round off a good night tonight with a smile. May turn up in Wolves kevlars. Richard Hall: or R/R?: Will miss Richard tonight, he has been sensational so far, he loves it now his old mate Stead is back. Damien Koppe: Ahh Damo, tomorrow might just be his night. I feel he will give it a go, but will there be an end product... time will tell. Jake Knight: Jake will give it a go, he likes mixing it with the opposition around our beautiful fast track. Not expecting much but will definitely chip in with a few points here and there. Thoughts Please?

Berwick Bandits V Sheffield Tigers Pl 27-04-13 7pm
OdsalBoy replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Stead: Hoping to be fit for this big meeting. Albin: He will want to show the Berwick faithful on what they are missing, ride the boards, score some useful points and terrify opposition riders with his unique syle. Haines: Who knows,? two last places and then a shock win. not expecting more than 3 from Hainesy. But please prove me wrong. Hall: Hally will want to smash it in at Berwick. He can ride the place and Mr Hall seems like he is having a great time lately. Could win us the meeting. Wells: ahh Mr Wells.... Capable. but not sure if he will deliver. will chip in with useful points i reckon. May turn up in Wolves Kevlars. Koppe: I really dont know what to say here, looks to be finding PL going very tough, hope he puts in a good shift, but can see very little points being scored. Knight: Knighty will try, not expecting heat wins, but the odd point here and there should do it. IF Stead isnt match fit then WE NEED to bring in a BIG HITTING number 1 to guest for him. NO R/R PLEASE! draft in Barker or Tungate to cover Stead. -

Stead - To card a maximum Albin - To thrill, ride the boards, do anything it takes, and pull in some solid 2nd string power points. Haines - Urrrm, Urrm, Hopefully show us all what we know he can do, needs to get bikes sorted. Knight - To continue as in previous weeks, chipping away with vaulable points here and there. Hall - Well, to silence his critics once again and smash in a maximum Wells - To Smile and at least pretend that he enjoys riding for Sheffield, may turn up in wolves kevlars. Koppe - To give us that Aussie magic, I feel Damien may just notch in a few points this week, i can just feel it. -
Personally i like Mitchell, can ride a bike, puts in a good shift. But id have rather had Jerran Hart...
-
Stead to card a 15 point haul and remind the Owlerton faithful of the Sean Wilson era. Albin to ride the boards, lay the bike right down and give it everything he's got. Koppe to put opposition reserves under pressure and keep them at bay. Knight to have a go, but expect a fairly pedestrian meeting after last weeks hairy moments. Hall to try and emualte Stead and smash opposition heat leaders to shreds, probably blow an engine or two in the process. Wells to try and smile a bit more and look a little more interested, may turn up in Wolves kevlars. Haines to shed a primary chain in his first ride, but will gain consistency in heats, a mid meeting Steady pep talk could inject some late heat blasts from him. According to my calculations - Sheffield 46 Leicester 44
-
All the best to the Tigers, if they maintain the same spirit as last night then we can definitely run them close. I think we could see a different Mr Auty tonight, seemed a bit off it last night but dont let that fool you. We know Steady will be leading by example but I feel the key is with the lower order of the team. If we can have Haines, Koppe & Knighty chipping in then who knows how far we could go tonight?...
