  1. Let’s face it, scoring 40 points at home would be an improvement!
  2. To be fair, that was bound to stick.
  3. Is it in HD? Channel 95 doesn’t look HD?
  4. Perhaps Jeremy Kyle could host the annual BSPA meeting? A bit down market I know compared to his usual show.
  5. To be fair, he has had a few hits
  6. Just in the interests of consumer bargaining power, within a five minute phone call BT offered me renewal at £49.99 (18 month contract), then £46.99 (12 month contract), then £41.99 (12 month with discount), for Infinity 2 fibre broadband (55-77mbs, though actually 34 closest to the router and 20 in the bedrooms) & entertainment plus TV (which includes the two Eurosport channels), HD and BT sports. Pretty happy with that compared to the £113 I paid to Sky/BT a couple of years ago.
  7. Comparing the natural talent of riders at a young age is definitely not the full story. Only Holder maintained year on improvement to becoming World Champion. Doyle stagnated for several seasons as soon as he rode in the Elite League, just like Iversen, and neither looked like being more than 7 pointers, but then, out of the blue and just like Woffinden, they suddenly applied themselves mentally and physically and had breakthrough seasons. Bewley and Lambert aren’t Lee or Ward but could well follow the path of Iversen.
  8. No, seriously, Chris looked ready to jack it all in last year and a bad start could see him working behind the scenes. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him working for Jack or Nick.
  9. Maybe Chris Holder might be interested in spannering?
  10. The BSPA General Council is just waiting for the last delegate to arrive from the planet Incompetence. Just why they didn’t all come on the same bus we’ll never know.
  11. Hmmmm I can see Bellego finishing higher in the averages than three of Poole’s top five. Woryna, Grajkzonek and Sundstrom.
  12. David Bellego. Despite achieving 7.37, everyone rubbishes him like he’s 4.37, so he’ll put on about 3 points.
  13. Ahh, there it is: will the real Steve Shovlar please stand up! No wonder everyone hates Poole.
  14. Apparently in the interests of furthering his career the Boro promotion have now agreed that Scot can ride only for Rye House ...... in return for an appropriate payment of course.
  15. On the one hand “Yes”, rules should be rules; on the other hand common sense suggests that the promoters should realise that Scot and Eddie will be good for the CL and Jon Cook should support the move in anticipation of next year’s team building!
  16. Will they be the same as the 69th anniversary bibs? Found only in third and fourth and covered in Swindon shale?
  17. They need to move it back a lap to give Poole riders a chance of winning a race!
  18. Hmmm ..... it used to make you giggle because you couldn’t afford “affordable” housing! Welcome to the bourgeoisie, SCB!
  19. Oh brill, if it’s GPS, at least we’ll know where we are.
  20. ...... and Pathe News shows Poole’s last title win.
  21. Are you crazy? A brilliant speedway race is thrilling. Compare that to the borefest that is formula one and the millions that gets!
  22. After six pages, taking all predictions into account, the consensus seems to be: Swindon Belle Vue Kings Lynn Somerset Leicester Wolves Rye House Poole Seems a little harsh on Rye House
  23. On the strength of last year Jorgensen will win plenty and do well. He should add a point.
  24. Welcome back and get well soon. Hope Poole win one or two matches for you ........ oh, I feel ill now saying that!
  25. For god’s sake, Steve, what’s wrong with you? 126 different riders last year, 13 new ones this year, 6 up and coming NL riders, makes 145, which covers the 133 needed. Plus plenty of foreigners who would come if asked.
