  1. A tough 3 points to add to our tally but we need more consistency if we going to win anything this season We need to get off to a stronger start and dominate meetings
  2. So Ipswich have strengthened their team and get 12 less than previous visit 2 points less than sheffields last visit 1 point more than kings Lynn got and 3 more than Peterborough. Looking at those stats nobody is getting close any time soon to this Belle Vue team
  3. The owner has to provide a stadium fit for purpose i wouldn’t expect my tenants to start doing repairs in my property. We rent a track with a fence. Track staff prepare track and put air fence up. It’s up to Dave Allen to sanction replacing fence posts etc it’s his property. !!! Anyway let’s see if it’s repaired for Monday
  4. My information is via track staff mate not mr Bates so I know what I believe to be true
  5. Yes so it can happen anywhere anytime then can’t it The Bates will have lost money thro this and if I was them I’d be taking up with the landlord and want compensation
  6. Neither for me mate. I’m not a lover or hater of mr Bates but form my opinion on the facts not the headlines. Actually it suited me this week been called off so it’s a win for me.
  7. Just a thought but I think I remember the National Speedway Stadium having problems with their brand new track not so long ago Apparently they had ALL winter to prepare and lay the track but had to cancel the opening fixture due to the track not been fit to walk on let alone race on. Correct me if I’m wrong cus apparently it’s only Sheffield that have problems!!!!!
  8. Actually I have 2 businesses one is rental. As landlord if there’s a problem I get someone to do the work I haven’t got time to stand over them. I trust them to do the work I then check it and pay them. Mr Bates rents owlerton stadium. The landlord is heavily invested in the dog racing world. Speedway is secondary to him. Mr Bates has no control over what happens at the stadium. He just has to pick up the pieces and roll with it. If mr Allen has had a new dog track laid and the speedway side has suffered damages then if I was Mr Bates I would be having a word with the owner because the rental contract has been broken. I would hope that mr Allen foots the bill. Hope this helps you understand the problem our promotion have.
  9. All day Wednesday. Right so assess the damage get a contractor ( like there are loads waiting for the phone to ring) get someone to look at the job and give you a price for the work then arrange a start date !!! We are talking real work not fantasy. !!! Don’t know your walk of life but get real.
  10. British Gas would never come and dig up your path as the gas company is Cadent gas. British Gas only do internal work. If cadent dug up your path they have got to make sure you have access to your property so would cover it with a board We do have a speedway office at the track but I’m not sure it is manned every day. Non of the promotion are from Sheffield and have other work.
  11. People just post on here with no facts to back up their story. Doom merchants. Our track staff have a ridiculous small amount of track time to prep it. Mondays and Thursdays there is dog racing in the daytime along with the night meetings To excavate and replace fence post takes time plus time for concrete to cure. It’s not just putting a garden fence up These lads will hit the fence at 50 -60 mph so it’s going to have to be passed fit before track can be used. I can’t understand why Belle Vue and Ipswich fans are getting wound up about it as it doesn’t concern them. How many wolves fans have come on here moaning ?
  12. Looks like the numpties have gone into hiding again. They come on here spouting crap without knowing the facts. Yes we do have dog meetings Tuesday Friday Saturday but we also have the BAGS dog racing on Mondays and Thursdays so track time for our track staff is very very limited. Once again idiots with no facts jump on the slag speedway down bandwagon. The people who don’t attend speedway meetings at their own track or people who don’t go to Sheffield speedway regular. There is also stock car racing at Sheffield and they just run their meeting and leave the track in a disgraceful state leaving our track staff vaulenteers to sort out. It’s a real shame these people get on such a high by slagging Sheffield speedway off because with the sport been in such a decline I worry what will happen when there’s no speedway to slag off. Probably be slitting their wrists. Some people really need to get a life and join the real world.
  13. We had a similar problem at Rotherham last season. Electronic entry to ground not working on the away end so everyone through one turn style only to get in the ground and tills not working. The joys of been a sports fan in the modern world.
  14. Well done Belle Vue some brilliant racing especially from your guys. We were very poor tonight and couldn’t get a decent set up between the 7 riders. You would have smashed any team tonight on that form and I think you probably will in the coming weeks. I think our top boys are doing too much and not got sufficient equipment to cope with the demand. Looked a bit tired men and machinery tonight.
  15. Should be a close meeting. 2 good sides going for it. Are we still expecting good weather for tonight’s meeting ?
  16. No not missing your point mate. You can only control what you can control. When something like this happens it’s a one off. Most of our meetings have been over by 9-15. The meeting is controlled by Eurosport. Referee can’t put 2 mins on when it’s advert time. People who just watch it on tv have got to appreciate that. 3 times the other night I heard Ryan Guest say we are just waiting to get the nod from the tv people. I was in the bar and heard it so don’t know why anybody outside didn’t hear it cus the bikes were stationary If your watching at home and not happy just change Chanel We’ve had GPS when it’s rained and it’s took an hour to relay track. We’ve had track problems at Cardiff with 40000 people attending but it’s not every week. It’s the nature of the sport isn’t it ?
  17. What guff ? At least 3 Ipswich supporters have slagged them off. Check the posts. So your saying Ipswich supporters on here would have slagged the promotion and track staff if it happened at Ipswich ? Who needs supporters like that ? No wonder speedway is in a fast decline. I can see why you don’t go then it must be toxic when you lose. I do agree with you tho if we had plenty of spare parts it would have been repaired quicker but as speedway is not a lucrative sport that might be the reason for the lack of spare parts don’t you think. Most clubs run on a shoestring.
  18. Not provocative mate. It just makes me laugh when people don’t attend matches but think they know the true facts. When the track staff explain something they have worked on and then get slagged off how would you react. Them lads work hard every week and yet some keyboard warrior slates them without knowing what actually happened. It was a one off and hopefully everyone learns from it. Had it been at Ipswich then I think there would have been more lieiency from the home fans regarding the delay. It’s done now so look forward to next meeting
  19. Why mate what’s the problem with my comments. Sport is about winning and losing and some people can’t accept defeat without sniping. I’m happy when we win unhappy when we lose but just accept it. No team in any sport wins every meeting. That’s a fact. But some just spout off when not knowing the facts.
  20. Looks like Justin Sedgeman made a good impression. Signed to replace Jake Allen
  21. Why is it a mooted point ? The point of the meeting is for someone to win someone to lose. Top 2 teams in league giving there all. Good meeting unfortunately drawn out due to circumstances. At the end of the meeting my summary was we won and go top and fortunately for Ipswich their riders walked away so that’s a result for both wouldnt you say? Thank god for the air fence doing it’s job
  22. I’ve just re read my post and can’t see where I’ve put that but if that’s what you’ve read good for you. The track staff lad said that 2 bags were damaged and replaced within usual time scale. The 3rd bag which on the gate was severely damaged due to the impact of rider and bike The blower feeding the fence was damaged due to air been forced back into the blower had to be replaced. The inner sock on this panel was also damaged. Apparently this hasn’t happened before so caused problems for our staff. The connections were also damaged. Now I don’t think mr Bates said that so there’s a slight difference in statements from track staff and promoter. So not your usual replace and blow up panel then was it and that’s why it took longer. Make of that what you will. Makes no odds to me who you believe. Hope this helps
  23. Well done but if you read my post again I said a member of track staff explained it as he was part of the team to fix it and I also said on face book. You have very cleverly copy and pasted what our promoter said on our website 2 slightly different messages. Damien Bates has not gone into as thoroughly as the track staff member. But if it helps you sleep at night you believe what you want. End of the day we won so it’s another 3 points and your riders walked away with no lasting injuries so well done to the air fence
  24. It wasn’t a bodge job if you go on face book one of the track staff explained the problem. I’m not repeating it cus takes too long to type. If you find it you will understand the implications what Danny Kings impact caused. Bit of a chain reaction and a problem that has not happened ever before apparently. It wasn’t a case of just blowing another panel up so for all those snipes our track staff have had to endure and time wasting quips which were totally unjustified. Hope Danny and paul starke are ok Both high speed smashes
