  1. The problem is more general as we are dropping a lot of points at home; not just this match
  2. Doesn't sound too pretty... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-33126297 Hope everyone is ok.
  3. Changing my Russian picks to: Renat Gafurov Andrei Kudriashov
  4. I won't be around later so will take a chance on these being correct

  6. Mike Bacon Yes @ipswichspeedway fans super Witches poster in today's Ipswich Star paper @Stephen_Waller + Louis on Witches and the Elite League Anything interesting in the article? I am not in Ipswich (despite the name..) so don't get the Star
  7. 7pm on the website, is that gates open/parade/tapes up? Haven't been to an evening Rye House meet for a while
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anQqhI8t-pU&feature=youtu.be Witches "Taster" video, 4 return, 3 join, team is obviously set then..
  9. Taken from the Somerset & Scunny websites. 25/09 – Ipswich Vs Scunny 02/10 – Ipswich Vs Somerset 03/10 – Ipswich @ Scunny 10/10 – Ipswich @ Somerset Witches currently says Somerset on the 25th.....? and nothing else.
  10. More likely training/analysis; more and more common across sport in general and I have seen a few riders using GoPros. I think Gino had one on a few weeks back? Alternatively it can be used to point out refereeing discrepancies as seen in the "Bizarre Exclusions" thread on the general board.
  11. There seemed to be a lot of "quick" gates last night; many of which were so good that I was surprised that they weren't called back. Refreshing to see the referee letting them get on with it, but doesn't say too much for consistency amongst officials as I am sure many would have called some of them back.
  12. There's also a minor note added to the match preview on the website
  13. Haven't been able to hear anything all season in the stands on the back straight... The speakers on the flagpoles need to be moved higher up to compensate for the now elevated viewing position. I emailed the promotion after the 2nd meeting and was advised that it is being looked at but nothing has happened as yet....
  14. People often question what happened to the cash injection that Sky coverage was supposed to provide. A nice big Simpsons-esque. sun blocker sounds like a good idea...
  15. Agreed, great community of speedway fans to be apart of also.
  16. The only difference is that the US "extra" matches are not picked or done by geography but are based on a rotation over X amount of years so that you play all opponents over the course of the rotation; thus removing the bias that others are referring to here. Whether you end up playing easier teams or harder teams is then based on luck of the draw and is the same for all.
  17. 7th April then, per todays fixture release
  18. Fixtures are on BSPA site, Panthers double header on Good Friday; looks like 2nd leg is away.
  19. I got my copy back in April and have had many enjoyable 2 player matches. Over Christmas I was back at my parents and we decided to go for a 4 player game. Although the rules dictate an individual tournament we wanted to try and keep it as a team event. I can say that this does work and, with a few tweaks to the rules, can be just as enjoyable. -Team mates were allowed to confer on what number rider they were going to use before each heat -If a rider has 2 opposing riders immediately in front of him (i.e. 5-1) then he is able to charge even if the two riders ahead have been involved in a charge. This was brought in as we realised that the front 2 riders could charge each other and therefore be free from being charged by the opposition based on the existing rulebook. -If 2 riders on the same team were battling each other in the bends, the 1st card laid could not be the chequered flag card. This was brought in as races were being immediately finished by 2 riders on a 5-1 playing 1 card and not offering resistance therefore ending the race without the opposition having any chance to do anything. This is more up to personal opinion as you could easily ignore this and take the "well that's just how it goes" approach. -An idea was raised, but not used, that a player could lay cards for either himself or his teamate to increase the teamwork aspect. This was not tried as we felt it would be pretty messy; but others may like it...
  20. Has there been any word/action on the rennovations to the home straight stand?
  21. Has it been announced anywhere of a set date for when fixtures are announced? Or is there maybe a set date each year?. Wondering if I will be in a position to calculate what, if any, meetings I will miss through holidays etc prior to the early bird deadline..... I calculate that you can afford to miss 3 full price meetings on the assumption that you attend 3 discounted meetings.
  22. For those that keep quoting American sports; they are run on a completely different basis. Yes, the playoffs decide the champion, however the teams are seeded from different leagues (conferences) and therefore the teams do not (apart from a handful each year) play each other during the season. The equivalent of this in the PL would be a North/South split with the top 4 from each league making playoffs with the final being the best of the north vs best of the south. More like how the League cup is currently run (i.e. group stage etc).
  23. What I don't understand is why Maassen didn't take his final rides? Whether he would have made it round 4 laps is irrelevant as 2 riders is better than 1. Are there rules against sharing bikes that I am not aware of? Or was the situation that dire that the team had run out of bikes to share..?
