Well it just didn't work the last time with the Buccs, despite them being successful (winning!!) on track. Even with admission at half the normal price and even less for season ticket holders and sponsors. It simply didn't catch the public's imagination compared to Pirates attendance.
As I've said previously, with the possible exception of Birmingham who have their own stadium restrictions, all clubs who have entered the 2 NDL competitions in 2025 either own or have full access to their stadia and will likely run those teams at the weekend when its easier for NDL riders to travel!!
The announcement has certainly caught the regional media attention, with excellent coverage in newspapers - print and online - plus TV, local radio stations and socials.😇
So the latest no.7 whisper on the Poole fans fb page is C.W.?!
The only 2point CW I can think of is Belle Vue's NDL Chad Wirtzfeld? He did use to be Poole's mascot!!! Any takers........?
If the strengthened-up Pirates finally accept the surprise invitation to the Prem Cup and manage to beat Sheffield then they will be up against Brum or Leicester in the S/F so suitable guests/ assets shouldn't be an issue eg Cook, Brennan, Kurtz, Holders etc........🫠
But it has to make a profit or at least wash its face. It had to be bailed once only which was when Poole went from Prem to Championship. That's why the Fords work so hard with sponsors.
