  1. Lions kept it close to heat 6 until Ben Cook catching Howarth on the line in the race of the night. Then BOOM the Pirates went into over drive.
  2. Cant disagree with any of that except to say that both Cooks shared the sponsors Rider of the night award. Can't wait to see Ben Cook v Basso in heat 1 next week.
  3. 10 minutes to go. Decent crowd. Good atmosphere. Christina Turnbull referee. COYP
  4. So I can't believe this one has slipped through the net?! Both teams line up in their full 1-7s, with Lions just making a change to the riding order for Dan at 4 and Connor at 2. Last time the Lions came to Wimborne Road in early June they won by 4 points with Dan Thompson their trump card at reserve top-scoring with 11+2 from 6 rides. Thats not going to happen again plus Pirates are riding in top form at the moment. Its nice and sunny with a warm(ish) breeze on the South Coast today - no rain forecast but will doubtless be colder this evening. I'll go with 49-41 to Poole on the night. Thoughts......?
  5. Yes it really plays on his mind - so much so that he hides away in the speedway office and rarely ventures out!! NOT!!
  6. 'Professional nit picker' is why I come on here! Plenty to choose from. :-)
  7. It was the old version played by the club after the minute's silence rather than what any older fans were singing. Such a shame after the impeccably observed silence.
  8. When interviewed by BSN Complin inferred he was already sorted out with a contract (somewhere) for next year. Danny Ford was in the pits so let's hope he had a quiet word!!
  9. BSN said Hans had aggravated his shoulder injury again. Roynon was there to commentate for BSN originally. He wore Atkins old kevlars. So very last minute.
  10. Look no Hans!!?? And a superb rendition of God Save The Queen!!??
  11. Just enough of a toss to reply without answering the question about the longest ever preview?!
  12. Ooh someone's a bit sensitive. So just to be clear, where have you seen a longer preview? Or is it just another conspiracy theory........
  13. Wow thats surely the longest meeting preview I've ever seen from any club!! So good to hear Plymouth aren't feeling sorry for themselves or 'hard done by' but reading that 'preview' it would appear thats exactly what they are!! Hope its a good meeting this evening.
  14. Glasses a bit misty today. I couldn't find any details anywhere - certainly not 9 am - so waited until the day's events had concluded before asking the question. Shortly after, Danny Ford put the teams up for both of Poole's Tuesday and Wednesday meetings.
  15. So no preview yet from the Gladiators - fans or club - so whats the Plymouth 1-7? Pirates will be as usual. Its almost as if Glad fans have lost interest?! Garry May said on last week's BSN that he hoped Scotty Nicholls was still available, but still had to check on other potential guests.
  16. Not what Rosco was saying the other week when commentating on BSN.
  17. I see Kelvin had his 'umm err' back in full flow. And who knew Simon Stead would openly support the Sheffield riders? I thought commentators and GB managers were supposed to be impartial?!
  18. Doubt it. Friday is reserved if Poole v Leicester is rained off on Wednesday!!
