  1. ....and hopefully his lockdown will be longer than everyone else's!!
  2. If he's signed on the bottom line in Poland then he can't ride in any other country's leagues. I've lost track of who else Swindon have signed? Does it also affect Batchelor or others?
  3. You are right about the Customer is King, BUT the fans aren't the only customers!! All clubs have contractual arrangements with various different customers including sponsors, advertisers, suppliers, landlords etc. It will depend on each club's financial balance sheet as to where they derive their maximum income from and therefore whose feedback might have the strongest opinion?!
  4. Not much of a commitment if thats all he was doing anyway. I guess he's assuming there will be no SGP series requiring him to travel outside Poland and then quarantine 14 days to get back in each time?!
  5. Hasn't Emil expressed similar doubts to NP. I don't see him getting the same abuse!!!!
  6. Next Wednesday's (6th May) Pirates video re-wind is the 2011 Grand Final 2nd leg Poole v Eastbourne.
  7. Maybe just for Southern tracks then where the weather may be a little kinder?! (Its definitely being discussed!!)
  8. Next Wednesday's (6th May) video re-wind is the 2011 Grand Final 2nd leg Poole v Eastbourne. Incidentally very interesting 'post-meeting' discussion last night with Matt Ford and Bjarne Pedersen. Not only some good memories but some surprising (to some) positive views about Speedway returning in July/August with re-vamped social distancing measures currently being discussed by BSPL and Sports Minister?! Matt also commenting on extending the season and mentioning that some promoters (and riders) have been asking about the possibilities of a Winter League?!
  9. So no appetite for a Winter Speedway league then??
  10. So his wife has to give up any job she has and go with him? Or stays here and doesnt see him for several months?
  11. There is a video from Jason Doyle/Craig Boyce on facebook, where JD explains his dilemma of what to do if riding in Poland. Riders have been told to go to Poland in 2 weeks time - mid-May - so they can quarantine for 14 days before starting to practice at end of May for the Polish season to start June 12/14th. He stresses that he has some big decisions to make for this season.
  12. Not allowed to show 'x-rated' videos!!! There will also be post-meeting interviews with Bjarne Pedersen and Matt Ford on Wednesday..
  13. Good statement from the BSPL Chairman today. www.speedwaygb.co.uk
  14. So with the Polish Extraliga agreeing to start racing in June behind closed doors and riders having to commit to staying in Poland - what will the likes of Doyley (Pedersen, Kurtz etc) do if British Speedway is allowed to start in say July/August/September? I mention Doyley in particular cos he lives in the UK.
  15. I guess you won't want to watch next Wednesday 29th April then? Its the 2008 play-off final 2nd leg Poole v Lakeside. Still I hear that Corrie is good?! Enjoy...
  16. As good a job as the Glasgow promotion have currently done with their stadium, their recent video shows that attendances have not grown substantially and they are still losing £100k a year. Surely not the basis to consider a 'natural' progression to be a top division team?!
  17. Whilst there is no 'live' action taking place at the moment, it surely can't be outside the marketing capabilities of either the BSPL or the several video companies to put together a decent 'highlights' package of several meetings - with a decent commentary - to be available to the wider audiences - including some of the Sky and BT league coverage as they don't hold any rights now!!. We all know that however good a particular meeting can be there will always be some duff heats, which even the most supportive afficionados wouldn't want to see again, let alone any potential newcomers. Include a few 'handbags' or controversial moments as well as some brilliant actual 'racing from the top drawer', together with a list of tracks where and when speedway can be viewed (post Covid-19 obviously), and make it available on every social media platform, forum and You-Tube etc and to every club to use as a promo in their own locality.
  18. Apparently its in response to the Polish Prime Minister's speech yesterday?! Its translation has been posted on facebook.
  19. So any truth in the rumour that the Polish authorities have banned all 'large gathering' events for the whole year. Speedway clubs to run in closed stadia??
  20. 2018 Premiership Riders final from Poole on Monday 20th April. Followed by Poole v Wolves 2004 Elite League Final 2nd leg on Wednesday 22nd April.
  21. Apologies, I didn't realise. So if I've understood you correctly, the Dugards no longer have any involvement in the running of the speedway then? How come a number of them got involved in the Glasgow fracas last season?
  22. and Somerset get all the revenue (less VAT) as they own the stadium (and food and beverage outlets as far as I'm aware). Similar to Eastbourne. With clubs like Poole and others who rent their tracks, their only income is at the turnstiles, Advertising/Merchandise, Sponsorship and programme sales - everything else, parking, bars, restaurant income goes to the stadium owners.
  23. Iwatched the film yesterday and also enjoyed it. Well done to the Facennas for everything they have achieved to date. Could any Glasgow fans give an estimate as to what attendances have been achieved. The film commented that new fans were attending every week, but the various camera shots didn't give a particularly good indication of 'big crowds' - in fact attendances looked quite sparse at times apart from the very vocal group of 'super fans'!!!
