  1. If he gets the work visa then I guess he'll be back for Poole - depending on what the league set-up, race days and points limits are for next season?! Also it will depend on what reduction on his 7.16 average MF or DF can negotiate?!
  2. So it was a good tense meeting last night with a much better attendance and atmosphere than of late. I've now also watched the BT version which does give a slightly different perspective compared to actually being there. As much as many are saying it was Poole's reserves v Swindon's top 2, I think the other factor was the number of last places - Swindon 9 Poole 6 (with 2 of those coming from Klindt's worst performance so far!!). Middlo's strategy was to fill the minor places and let Doyley (and Batch) do their thing and it just about worked. Kurtz was struggling with bike issues all night and Jensen was clearly suffering with his wrist injury from the previous night's Championship action. Should make for an interesting third meeting on Thursday. As for the track there was some 'rippling' going into the first bend but for Doyley to state on camera that the track was awesome and well prepared and allowed for great racing was good to hear - something that Tatum also alluded to in his pre-racing track report. Well done to both teams - hope its the final.
  3. He's not right. Newman only had 3 rides. Perks replaced him in heat 8 and also scored 0.
  4. Who are BV using r/r for? Etheridge for NBJ announced but has Fricke withdrawn? (ps sorry I know its the wrong thread!)
  5. Looking forward to watching it live and recording it for a different perspective. I think Swindon will come away with at least a point. Their top end strength in the latter heats will be difficult for Poole imo. I think Poole are better at home when they go off 2&4 in heat 1 so lets see.
  6. I thought Morris was also involved in the same Berwick crash?? At least Fricke's Swedish meeting today has been postponed!!
  7. Early season KP doing a job at 5 and Heeps at reserve were the catalysts for their good form. I said that when Heeps went into the 1-5 his scores would not be so consistent - aside from his injury - and I also said Kennett at reserve would not score double figures in successive meetings - and he hasn't. Not sure what the riding order might be from Sept 1st if they do make the play-offs.
  8. Ah so Colin Cook's son! hence the Ippo, Leicester and Exeter links.
  9. Thanks Neil my informant was therefore incorrect - unless he was relying on the 'special dispensation by the BSPA Directors' option?!
  10. As has been said many times - if you want to make a small fortune out of speedway then start with a large one!
  11. They've both got cracking wives though!!!
  12. But the September 1st figures will be known after 23rd August so clubs will still have a chance to sort something.
  13. No, not unless there is a further dramatic drop before 28th August!!
  14. The travelling support for Poole/Swindon meetings in the play offs will be much greater than any of the other teams - except perhaps Kings Lynn v Ipswich, but as that isn't going to happen, I didn't concern myself with it!!
  15. He was a Kings Lynn and Swindon rider too!! As a Poole rider he was the best thing since sliced bread on the track. Nowadays I can't really blame him for resorting to social media from his wheelchair!!!!!
  16. I must confess to being a little bored with the racing last night - very processional.
  17. Look at the September/October fixture list on BSPA website for the provisional dates.. (Premiership league fixture cut-off date is 19th September)>
  18. Better attendances if/when they meet each other and a better financial end to the season for both!!
  19. You seem to forget that Darcy was rightly punished and came back a better individual for it. All that some are saying is that Craig Cook should also be rightly punished rather than try to claim some 'unfairness' because the SCB's Neil Vatcher is a friend of Jon Cook, amongst others??
  20. Think yourself lucky he blew his best engine in heat 1 last night. I bet you'll be hoping he can't get it replaced in time for Monday?!
  21. Only 'cos his average was increased which would have made him number 1. MF undoubtedly made the right decision if Bomber's recent scores are anything to go by!!
  22. When you build a so-called 'top heavy' team then your heat leaders should have better averages than any team built for 'strength in depth'! Swindon have a chance - not a strong chance imo - on Monday to go top of the league, but either way it should be a good meeting and the play-offs will be far better for having both Poole and Swindon qualifying. Still the Premiership table still looks mighty fine this morning!!
