Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 4/7/18
SteveLyric2 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So we do see Scotty Nicholls at Wimborne Road on Wednesday ---- as he guests for BV's Rohan Tungate who has a commitment in Denmark (?) as has Poole's Nicolai Klindt for whom Nico Covatti guests. BV also confirm they operate r/r for Garrity. -
I've never suggested that there wasn't competiton for his signature - just pleased that a young rider shows a bit of loyalty to the club who first invited him over after Bjarne Pedersen first recommended him to Matt Ford!!
-
Jacobsen has been on Poole's radar since the end of the 2016 season when he rode in Poole's Blue Riband. He was still doing his studies at that time and refused the opportunity of a place in 2017. He attended Poole's P&P in March this year (staying with Matt Ford)and was in the Anniversary meeting line-up (which was rained off). His studies have now finished and he contacted Poole (rather than BV and Somerset contacting him) for a team place.

Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 4/7/18

They have 'walked' the league so far -- certainly their gating has been at walking pace!! -
Fit and scoring well!!!
-
Come off it Nick. Not finding it funny at all as far as the riders are concerned. The emojis are in respect of 'ruthless' promoters be it Damien Bates, Matt Ford, Garry May or indeed any of them!! Promoters make decisions for the benefit of their business as they see it - some will agree and some won't.
-
Its included in the latest set of BSPA averages. Jacobsen comes in on assessed 4.00. Matt Ford first brought him over in 2016 to ride in the end of season Blue Riband. He didn't want a full time job at that time due to studies that he has now completed.
-
Don't see how at the moment - he's injured and his average is 5.23. Not sure who he would replace?
-
Ruthless these promoters!!!!??
-
Point me in the direction of the rule that says that?! Injured riders can come back when fit again.
-
So Rye House AWAY at Somerset on Wednesday 4th July is postponed!!!!
-
It is suggested that Stefan Neilsen (3.67) is only a couple of weeks away from a return to action after his leg injury???? Bit of a risk but it would save 1.10 against Mateusz average (4.77) and give Matt a smidgeon more to play with if looking at replacing another!
-
Blimey you must have logged in just at the right time in the last few minutes!!
-
According to the Latest averages on the BSPA site (as of 22nd June) Klindt is not even in the 1-7 and they still list Neilsen at reserve!!
-
From a highly reliable source at Poole last night Rye House are 'on the brink' but the last thing the BSPA want is to lose a club. However they want Rye to see out their remaining 2018 fixtures but refuse to let them run on a Saturday. Any ongoing 'stand-off' may well favour Rye's attempts to switch to Saturday for home meetings as the longer the impasse goes on the fewer Mons/Weds will be available Also the riders are not prepared to ride more races without some payment (or guarantee of payment from someone they trust?!). The BSPA will not fund that!! Sad times.

Poole v Somerset 27 June 2018
SteveLyric2 replied to Ghosty's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done to Somerset - all their riders rode as if they were really up for it. In contrast - and not helped by yet another inconsistent track (but thats no excuse) - Poole were a 2 man team, plus an unlucky Sundstrom. Lots of comments coming out of the pits about the behaviour of Poole's skipper - refusing interviews and the end of meeting press conference!! Mateusz rode as if he'd been told his future!! Matt's programme comments refer to making one change to improve the current 1-7 AT THIS TIME!! I assume other changes might be possible with the August averages. Anyway back to the track - the first bend 'hole' seemed to reappear in the second half of the meeting (someone referred to it as a rut?!), but it was Poole's gating that was the biggest letdown - and not for the first time this season. Onwards and upwards. -
Anyone watching the Wolves v Lions meeting on BT Sport last night will have heard Peter Adams say that several tracks are having/have had issues with track prep due to the closure of the quarry that supplied much of the good quality shale over the years. Wolves, Poole, Somerset, IOW, Stoke (and doubtless a few more) have all had problems with the 'new' shale, in addition in some cases to having to change their track curators. I'm not sure that any of the above is the fault of the riders?!

Crikey for someone who doesn't come to the racing that much, I'd hate to see your 'glass half-empty' posts!!

Lets hope young Bewley is totally knackered after all his weekend racing and travelling!! -
Yes but he's not coming to the end of his career is he? Poole will be keeping a close eye on Leicester's changes if/when Vaculik returns to UK racing, ie which Poole asset will Leicester let go to fit Vaculik back in? - he's fit enough to return to the GPs on Saturday and his Polish club has no issues with their riders racing in UK (eg KK at Rye House).
