  1. According to the Latest averages on the BSPA site (as of 22nd June) Klindt is not even in the 1-7 and they still list Neilsen at reserve!!
  2. From a highly reliable source at Poole last night Rye House are 'on the brink' but the last thing the BSPA want is to lose a club. However they want Rye to see out their remaining 2018 fixtures but refuse to let them run on a Saturday. Any ongoing 'stand-off' may well favour Rye's attempts to switch to Saturday for home meetings as the longer the impasse goes on the fewer Mons/Weds will be available Also the riders are not prepared to ride more races without some payment (or guarantee of payment from someone they trust?!). The BSPA will not fund that!! Sad times.
  3. Well done to Somerset - all their riders rode as if they were really up for it. In contrast - and not helped by yet another inconsistent track (but thats no excuse) - Poole were a 2 man team, plus an unlucky Sundstrom. Lots of comments coming out of the pits about the behaviour of Poole's skipper - refusing interviews and the end of meeting press conference!! Mateusz rode as if he'd been told his future!! Matt's programme comments refer to making one change to improve the current 1-7 AT THIS TIME!! I assume other changes might be possible with the August averages. Anyway back to the track - the first bend 'hole' seemed to reappear in the second half of the meeting (someone referred to it as a rut?!), but it was Poole's gating that was the biggest letdown - and not for the first time this season. Onwards and upwards.
  4. So the announcement on the Rye website now states 'meeting postponed' - rather than 'cancelled'!! Whatever the unforeseen circumstances are, maybe Rye's outstanding rearranged home fixtures will have to be run at the weekend due to unavailability of Mons/Weds before the cut-off?!
  5. There is usually a BSPA management meeting on the last Tuesday of the month?! Maybe things have been said, requests made again and turned down again?!
  6. Anyone watching the Wolves v Lions meeting on BT Sport last night will have heard Peter Adams say that several tracks are having/have had issues with track prep due to the closure of the quarry that supplied much of the good quality shale over the years. Wolves, Poole, Somerset, IOW, Stoke (and doubtless a few more) have all had problems with the 'new' shale, in addition in some cases to having to change their track curators. I'm not sure that any of the above is the fault of the riders?!
  7. Crikey for someone who doesn't come to the racing that much, I'd hate to see your 'glass half-empty' posts!!
  8. So an away point and suitably 'managing' the averages - job done Middlo!!
  9. Lets hope young Bewley is totally knackered after all his weekend racing and travelling!!
  10. Yes but he's not coming to the end of his career is he? Poole will be keeping a close eye on Leicester's changes if/when Vaculik returns to UK racing, ie which Poole asset will Leicester let go to fit Vaculik back in? - he's fit enough to return to the GPs on Saturday and his Polish club has no issues with their riders racing in UK (eg KK at Rye House).
  11. Anyone know what average Vissing came in on? Did he really come in as 2nd heat leader?
  12. I still think it'll be down to which team adapts to track conditions quicker with both tracks using poor quality shale from the same source!! Doyley won't risk too much if he doesn't gate as its GP week so I think Poole will have too much on the night but not quite enough for the aggregate win.
  13. With the weather forecasting temperatures up to 30 degrees it'll be interesting to see how consistent the track is having had 2 weeks to 'settle' after Stewart Dickson's (and others) guidance. I think Poole will win but not by enough to pull back the 14 point deficit..
  14. Maybe to allow those clubs in the top league to run at weekends or on any preferred day due to their own local stadia issues there needs to be a change to 5 rider teams (as in Denmark) plus some sort of rider control on those riders who wish to ride abroad as well - especially in Poland.
  15. No don't know for certain, BUT after MF's recent comments about assets at other clubs, I just wondered what would happen with a couple of Poole assets if Vaculik returns?!
  16. So what happens if/when Vaculik returns? He was still on assessed 8.00 when he got injured!
  17. To be in the top 4 (rather than the bottom 1 or 2, or 3) you need to win meetings or at least pick up some away points. Poole haven't been doing enough of that. nb. Interesting to see so many fans jumping on the MJJ bandwagon??! Not sure that any changes will be made in the short term although it may all revolve around changes elsewhere?!
  18. Changes afoot - will surprise a few!!!!
  19. You have to have strong and successful management at any club to make the difficult decisions.
  20. ???? Whilst I know what you are referring to, I've never been 'called into the office'! I wasn't even in the country when the forum closed if thats what you mean?!. Incidentally I'm in the office every week, by choice. All I'm saying is that when it comes down to a 'club v rider' dispute, fans have differing views. Btw is Charles a Poole asset?
  21. The word 'entourage' springs to mind!!!
  22. KK now at number 1!! Now you know what most Poole fans felt like last year!!
  23. Although totally different circumstances I recall - with a slightly wry smile - when Poole dropped the 'loyal Kyle Newman' last year there was an outcry in favour of the rider, but when Somerset drop the 'loyal Charles Wright', some are totally supportive of the management! Strange bedfellows some of speedway's folk!!!
