  1. Matt was still awaiting clarification from PZM re Josh (Josh also said the same when asked in the pits). As far as MF is aware Hans is in the Leicester 1-7 for Monday, much to Lodz' disappointment,
  2. Did you see my updated reply on the earlier post R&R? Straight from Matt F himself.
  3. Matt Ford said last night that he was still awaiting clarification from the Polish League (PZM) over Josh's appearance due to him having taken out a Polish Licence. He also said that Hans would be in the Leicester side, (unless money talks or Hans doesn't fancy it after last night?!) Assuming Josh is missing and Poole are allowed a facility then it'll have to be r/r as you can only have a guest for your number 1 or if more than one rider is missing.
  4. I think thats a very fair prediction. Whatever the track guys can do to prepare the track in this blistering heat will mean the track is different again for the home team so anything can happen. Looking forward to it though. Meeting sponsored by Hans' main sponsor Meridian Lifts, so he will want to do well.
  5. I'll do my best. Doubt I'll be there in time to see the riders before the pits close, but I'll ask Matt or Gordon when I go in the office. UPDATE: poole waiting for pzm clarification re Josh due to his Polish licence. Hans rides for Leicester.
  6. Some very poor shale - affecting several clubs - plus the very hot weather make it a nightmare for most track curators. At least it seems that a new supplier of decent shale has been sourced and TR has some on order.
  7. At least Brady's parents will be with him from Wednesday, so whatever is either mechanically or mentally wrong with him at the moment can be put right!
  8. The priority of fixtures should be the Premiership as Mondays were agreed and approved by FIM! However, money always talks. Whether a facility or not, and with new averages coming into effect, Leicester will feel any rider loss more than Poole I would suggest.
  9. This'll be Poole's 9th away meeting out of the 15 ridden so like KL they've got a few more home meetings to come. If the Pirates can continue to get something from the away meetings and start to stamp their authority at home then the play-offs are a realistic target.
  10. I think this one could be a lot closer than many think. 48-42 for me.
  11. S.Lambert and Garrity at reserve as they have the lowest 2 averages for the Stars. For Poole, Bomber is at 5 and needs to score decent points in each of his races as that was what Linus was doing mostly, albeit 1point or 1+1.
  12. Thats 2 days running on BBC Breakfast Sport!! Someone seems to have got to grips with it.
  13. Just for the record, Poole have 4 (soon to be 5) of their own assets in their 1-7.
  14. More likely to look at Kenny Bjerre!!
  15. Thats at General Council (and its 3 years) Something like the Prem play-offs would only involve the Prem clubs.
  16. Johnno's moved down to Middlo's in the past few days. The JD has taken quite a hammering I gather!! :-)
  17. So Poole are doing their best to assist the Stars by promoting this meeting's preview on the Poole website already. Both teams feature their new signings - Garrity for the Stars and Harris for the Pirates Should be a close one.
  18. most of the Leicester team by the look of it!!!!
  19. Yes I forgot that one which was also mentioned by Natalie Quirk on Monday!!
  20. ...and how many of the 7 Premiership clubs would vote for a reduction in the number of play-off places? All 7 are still very much in with a chance of qualifying.
  21. As announced on BT Sport on Monday the film is called 'True Grit' and premieres after the Cardiff SGP.
  22. I wonder who the promoter will be?
  23. Having spent the last 2 hours going through this whole thread (yes sad isn't it?!) and also reading the SS every week, it seems to me that the sport will never reach a true concensus for the way forward even if it managed to get views from 75% of its patrons - and by 'patrons'' I include sponsors, advertisers and fans as well as riders/mechanics/tuners etc. IMO the average fan wants to be entertained and get value for money. We must also accept that some fans (and clubs) both current and lapsed will also want what they deem to be 'top level speedway with top stars competing' whilst others will simply want regular good racing at a decent price. As life in general - and speedway in particular - is all about compromise and choices, why not try:- A 'One League' model comprising all current PL and CL clubs (plus a seperate NL as now) at around or slightly above the current Championship level, possibly split into regions; Teams comprising 5 or 6 riders only, and featuring only those riders who are based in UK for the whole season. 13 heat format, with some form of engine restriction/moderation for the bikes. Adult Admission no more than £12; with very good family ticket prices. PLUS - for those clubs/fans who have a history of and feel that they would only support a strong top league, let them form a 'Super Elite League' if they feel it would work for them. So what if it might only have a handful of clubs and fixtures, but it features a good number of 'top' riders, if it works for them at whatever admission price would need to be set, then let them do it?! Some sponsors would definitely support it! If it doesn't work then th'ey can still fall back to the 'One league' option the following season.?
