  1. They won't be banned - as always it'll be the GP riders' own choice if they ride UK next year. Maybe Rosco and the other promoters know there will be a squad system or shared number 1's?!
  2. I think Troy, Rory (and also Davey Watt) need to prove their all back on it during the winter back in Oz - maybe all in the Aussie Championships, before anyone takes another risk!!
  3. There will surely be one British rider from this year's EDR that will be at reserve in each team's 1-7 - and only allowed to go into a 2nd string position if good enough!?
  4. Looking at the line-ups (subject to Poland today!!) it looks a fairly even contest. Should be a good'un for Sky viewers.
  5. Poole can't permanently replace both riders without re-declaring the 1-7 under 40.50 points!! Not a cats chance of achieving that. So it could only be one permanent replacement and/or 'horses for courses' guests from the bottom 4 clubs - not forgetting the 8-day rule.
  6. Probably still trying to find riders that will ride with no guarantees of getting paid!! A 'promise' of a team place next year is hardly going to hold much water - unlike the track!!
  7. So the Stars still in the EL for 2017 then?!
  8. Assuming he is racing somewhere over the weekend, if there is any reaction to his wrist injury then I'd prefer he carried on 'resting' it. He needs to be fully fit when he returns and start racing like he was a couple of months ago - same with Hans who has had his op today!!
  9. I never believe the club website averages - they hardly ever agree with the official BSPA ones - Poole included!! Many clubs try to update averages after every meeting which is laudible, but the only figures that matter are the BSPA averages which are updated officially every 2 weeks.
  10. It was a 2-year deal with the incentive of a testimonial, but with the condition he reached an 8-point average!!
  11. Agree - I doubt Chris Holder will ride here next year!! Personally I like the 'mid-reading'. It often means you can miss out the carp at the beginning and the end!!
  12. Where do you get that average from? Are you keeping your own spreadsheet, cos it still says 5.49 on the latest BSPA averages!? (I realise that doesn't include this week's score)
  13. I hope that as Harris has been named, he is fit enough to complete the meeting!!
  14. He could be!! Although the 'word' on Wednesday was that it was more likely to be Tuesday. I guess he will have some sort of test outing over the weekend and then see how the wrist reacts?!
  15. Damn - thought I'd got away with it!!? All the local Poole councillors who were in attendance a couple of weeks ago - including the majority of the Planning Board - were being very vocal and supportive about requiring speedway to remain on the site. Of course they may also make similar noises about the dogs if they ever admit to being invited to the Greyhounds??!! The 'knack' will be to persuade Stadia UK to bring the stadium facilities upto par for both speedway and dogs, - which currently is exactly what Clarke Osborne has stated publicly will happen - whilst at the same time deciding where and how the 500 new flats will fit within the lorry park, part of the car park and the current offices plot fronting onto Wimborne Road. MF's main concern will be to ensure there is no, or only minimal, disruption to the continuation of speedway whilst any works go ahead. No plans have yet to be submitted.
  16. The '8-day' rule is surely to stop a rider guesting at the same track more than once in any 8-day period - unless its for your number 1.
  17. Yes a team with 2 number twos is bound to be over the limit - full of $#!t mainly. ;-) Particularly strange when MPT was signed for KL in 2012 - in the EL too!! Its almost that you might not know what you are talking about?! ;-)
  18. So a decent crowd with standing ovations for riders from both teams all got it wrong then?!
  19. What absolute BS. Is this the 'manipulative management' that tracked two EL 2nd strings in place of 2 heat leaders yet still achieved a decent win with some cracking racing. All tracks are generally slick - or at least a lot slicker than in years gone by. Nothing to do with being 'manipulative' - its what the machinery is more suited to. Yes there are lots that have to be improved in British Speedway, but continually reducing the level to the lowest common denominator will see the sport disappear up its own backside. The quicker the other promotions get on board the better. Sorry FB what I meant was as we can only replace one 'injured' rider then it depends who declares them selves fit and proves it in time - the other having to stay 'injured' for the rest of the season!! Buzz could have the opportunity to prove himself next week?!
  20. I've had him on ignore for ages but others keep 'quoting' his posts. I'd stopped commenting on any of his posts but just reading through some of last night's and this mornings, the steam coming out of my ears would very nearly have earned me an expected ban!! I decided not to give the t**t the satisfaction. (replace the asterisks with any choice of letters to suit!!)
  21. Rohan will doubtless be testing things when he guests on Monday, in readiness for his more important meeting 2 days later. So I don't expect a huge score from him - but all Pirates now have some experience of the NSS track so should make for an interesting meeting. (ps. Tungate only on 'standby' for Poole's meeting the following night at the AF Arena)
