With all those 'top' riders you would think they would attract better crowds!!! How on earth can they make it pay?

I thought the argument for Sky not bidding for the current SGP contract was partly financial but mainly because they already have more than enough live Saturday evening sport?! Or does the launch of Sky Sports 5 (in August) for all European Football, open up some capacity on Sky Sports 1-4 on a Saturday?

Magic rode in Poland Sunday (10+3) and is due to ride for Poole tonight - rain permitting. Josh G really wants to ride Saturday but will take the specialist's advice this morning. Since the operation, he has been treating his face/eye with daily ice packs to reduce the swelling, but the biggest issue is likely to be whether he can get his helmet on!!!!!?

I think you'll find Gav that whilst DW is carrying the knee injury, his game plan for the GPs is to get as many early points on the board as possible. If he makes a semifinal or even a final and manages to avoid any major 'clashes' (ie keeping well out the way of Pedersen and Smolinski!) then job done. Not bad for a rider that can't gate, but still sits in 3rd place in the GP standings!!

All the Aussies on duty on Friday are Poole assets - Team manager, Riders and reserve!! Have to rub it in a bit when we have the chance!!

Most of the commentators for minor sports are self employed. At least with Nigel and Kelvin, whilst we might not always agree with their opinion at least they get the facts and the names right the majority of the time!! Even the riders and their gate positions were stated wrongly last night - despite them being on the screen caption!!!

2219 for this meeting?! - where were they all hiding, behind the camera? Anyway the size of crowd is of less importance than how much they pay to get in as a guide to how financially stable the clubs are? I'm just interested to get some comparisons.

Isn't part of the TV issue, not just about whether the meeting is 'televised' but whether it is shown in the country concerned and what the financial 'rewards' implications and viewing figures are likely to be??!

Great meeting to watch in front of a sparse crowd?! From the Eurosport coverage, they don't seem to provide any/much additional entertainment (and hardly any centregreen advertising!) other than just the racing!!? This has probably been asked before but what are the admission charges for seeing some of the 'top' riders, bearing in mind Swedish teams also operate squads so their costs must be horrendous!!?

So if you're only interested in his on-track exploits, why continue to post opinions as to his off-track demeanour - its clearly not relevant to your argument!!

Eurosport via Virgin Cable was fine - saw all the meeting and presentations - unfortunately!!
