Water the initial cause but perhaps if I the track had just been left alone rather than churning it up the damage might not have been so bad? So on BSN last night they were advertising the Premier Pairs meeting which is due to take place here on Monday night. Shouldn’t the Championship Final take precedence? If tomorrow is cancelled, then Monday should be the rerun date with the PP being put back a few days.

I can’t share the photo as I was told when receiving it not to post it. Sorry I would if I could. the whole of the back straight is in the photo taken from the pits gate looking towards the third bend, with a back of a tractor in the forground. The grader is plastered in very wet slosh, and it is the same the whole way down the back straight. You would need a pair of wellies to shuffle through it.

Hearing the Leicester track man Graham thinks the track is currently in a terrible state and “beyond redemption” Caused by the amount of clay in it. They have been working on it today but conditions are bad. So what are Leicester going to do about it? Or do we do the obvious and call the result after one leg? Seems unfair but if that’s the way the cookie crumbles, so be it.

Poole lost 47-43 in the league and 46-44 in the KO Cup at Leicester this season. It really should have been a 16 point win tonight but for an EF and a rerun, when both time Poole were on 5-1’s. In the after meeting conference all Poole riders were frustrated with 8 points but said as one that the title was coming to Poole. Should make a thrilling and close second leg on Saturday. Poole are pretty good at Leicester.

Certainly a meeting of two halves. The after meeting press conference was interesting. Steve Worrall said his main bike had an issue and that’s why his second bike was wheeled out and used. Danny King was hurt after his third bend fall but was determined to continue but gave heat 15 a miss. Ben Cook was frustrated when he had an engine issue when on a 5-1, and Zach had frustrations when also on a 5-1 when Mountain fell on his own but was allowed back in. Mountain went and chopped up Zach, who should have put it down, as should have Ben when Nicholls smashed him out of the way in heat 10. The first half of the meeting had Leicester blasting from the gate and Pirates having little answer. 16-26 down and it looked all over but in the second half of the meeting Poole had an 18 point swing, after the track settled down. The lead to Leicester should really have been 16 points but with Bens bike Blowing and in heat 11 with Poole on a 5-1 and Mountain falling at the back, those were the way things went. I think Poole are still in with a shout on Saturday, though clearly Leicester will now fancy their chances. All to ride for. Poole have only been beat by a bigger score once this season at Plymouth, and by 8 points at Edinburgh. All other defeats have been closer. An important off track piece of information has come out about Kyle Howarth. He is getting married on Saturday. And in his contract with the club it all states that he doesn’t ride for a period before his wedding for fear of injury ruining his big day. Now, if he is not getting married on Saturday, this news is a load of rubbish. But if he is, then no facility should be granted. So a NL rider should replace Howarth. The BSPA MC should look into this as a matter of urgency.
