  1. Well spanner47 (Mr King) you seem to have a crystal ball and can see into the future and know all about whats going to happen, very very clever of you!!! Or are you just one of these know-it-all and actually know nothing forum users?
  2. Agree with mostly what you say Baldyman as usual except I doubt we will win easily, as the Witches riders cannot be relied upon to give 100% when riding for the Witches. Rohan seems preoccupied with his efforts for Poole more than for us and it really showed last week when he was passed 3 times. Lanham has his mind on finishing his career with the Witches, which surely is very near and riding around the white line and taking the safe easy option. Ritchie who is only here for the very short term, obviously only on old equipment and has not won a race since riding for the Witches. That leaves the 4 riders who can be relied on to give 100% effort but one of those is missing Ben but Cook should be a good replacement. Yes the attendances are dropping each week as the fans are fed up of seeing second rate riders week in week out and the same opposition so far mostly. The novelty has worn off of new teams and the reality has set in of the riders they are seeing every week and they are deciding to stay away and save their hard earned cash and who can blame them. There are not many fans left who will watch any kind of speedway no matter at what level and many who would are getting very elderly and many not with us any more. The young element are fast disappearing as can be seen very obviously every week and they are the future of Ipswich speedway and they need attracting back by re-entering the Elite League, so they can once again see the top riders like, Andersen, Holder, Ward etc etc.
  3. Good comments Baldyman. I think basically its that Doyle is so much a better rider than any of the Witches riders. But its not just Jason that look faster than the Witches riders is it? Look at Davies going by Tungate as though he was on a push bike and there are numerous cases of Witches riders being passed by faster riders, as they creep around the inside of the track. It seems several Witches riders are so unwilling to go for the grip wider and take the soft options of the inside!! Certainly Ben, Adam and Cameron certainly on the whole do try the wide lines, so do not come into the category of safe liners!!
  4. Well think my slightly earlier posting was spot on with my assessment of what was going to happen in the meeting, well done jackal I think cl needs to have a quiet word in Rohans ear, as without doubt he gives 100% for Poole but certainly do not for Witches and I thought the way he was passed in 3 races was a disgrace as he never went for the faster lines out wide!!! He do not seem committed to the Witches cause at all. Lanham to my mind looks like an old rider just trying to hold onto his present average and team place and cl should look elsewhere next season. Cannot fault the other 5 for their efforts as they all gave 100% and that is why the Witches won by 7 points
  5. Not just around foxhall Baldyman but by far the best rider in the premier league by a long way. Wonder if the new Morten will turn up tonight and what Ben will turn up, the Witches are so hit and miss you never can rely on anybody in the team. Lanham seems to be showing his age with some awful scores lately, Rohan seems better for Poole and Ritchie can I suppose be relied on for his usual 4-5 points. Its at reserve where the Witches strongest point seems to be with 2 riders capable of beating anyone. Think Doyle will get 17-18 points tonight with no misfortunes but the rest of the team look vulnerable without Morris and I would expect a Witches win.
  6. Yes he did not have to help thats true and he is a nice guy we all know that but as a rider he do not have the quality thats needed that has been very clear from what we have seen at foxhall. So personally I hope cl goes for a new rider perhaps from abroad thats not on any retained list over here like Jari who is and who knows he could be cls next asset for the Witches.
  7. Well I certainly hope not, cl has been down that road and what a miserable failure that was!!!
  8. You more or less answered your own question neb!!! "When the track was fair to both teams" Witches won by the country mile, so they WERE the better team
  9. Somerset without Nick Morris look significantly weakened although all the riders including the fantastic Jason Doyle can take his rides. So the Witches with Morten flying at the minute, look much too strong for them and should win comfortably although Jason might score 21 points. I wonder what Ben will turn up, he looked very poor in last nights British Championship and simply does not look like the rider he was for Plymouth last season at all. Also wonder if cl has any rider lined up to take Ritchies place because he is adamant he is only here for the short term?
  10. Having dirt on is ok if evenly put on but this track was patchy which especially with rain falling on and off WAS dangerous!!! Im just glad no riders were injured because they could easily have been. If the track man had done his job in the first place and it was a well prepared track, the Witches would undoubtedly have won! By your comment of "track mans good work going to waste" I take it he wanted the Witches riders to fall off and for the Leicester riders who know the track much better to have an avalanche of a win!!! Lets face it, when the track was fair to both teams, the Witches came storming back and you and your fellow supporters (including the gob almighty ones) did not like it and could not take the fact that the Witches really were the better team, given fair circumstances
  11. Obviously the Leicester fans will complain about the track being graded so much, when the Witches came back at them to take a point that never looked possible on a dangerous track. Paramount to everything is the riders safety and it was not safe early on so therefore the extra grading, shame it had not been done before the meeting started, perhaps their track man heeds to take some hints off our Bob Ellis here at Ipswich
  12. A great point after yet another awful start which cost the Witches winning the meeting. There are so many falls from Witches riders and its costing us dear, I wonder why this is? A big pat on the back especially to Cam and Morten who were the point winners in the long run and to a lesser extent to Ben who came good in the end. But the form of Lanham is a big worry with just a paltry 2 from his favoured riding position and riding like an inspirational captain he is not. Rohan had an off night and seems to ride better while with his Aussie buddies at Poole and he has so much potential but still waiting for it to flourish for the Witches. Adam had one great race and just shows what he can do when getting the gate, in fact he is capable of beating any rider. Ritchie had an indifferent meeting but if he is on his way soon as he suggests, perhaps cl should be looking for a replacement rider very soon. To sum up, it was a case once again of what might have been as Leicester are no great shakes but a lack of an all-round effort from all 7 riders proved costly. At least like at foxhall, the few big mouth Leicester fans who were at Ipswich, were silenced and perhaps it would be best if they left their hooligan behaviour at the local football ground.
  13. Sorry to hear Adam had a big expensive off in France, I hope he has no ill effects. We will need Adam with his best gating skills Sunday along with Saturday. And good luck to the lad in Italy hope he grabs his opportunity with both hands.
  14. It would be great if the Witches gated to victory here, as thats whats needed on this gaters paradise of a track to shut up many big mouth Leicester fans like we did at foxhall Monday afternoon after heat 8 But with Rohans injury from riding for Poole and Adam's perhaps non-arrival from Italy, it will leave a mountain to climb for the other riders. But never say never perhaps just perhaps we can nick a point or 2
  15. Think Belle Vue are run by a load of clowns, when its not raining there for once they make sure its wet with over watering or whatever
  16. Well if you never see any dust during the final 2 - 3 heats, its you my friend who was at another meeting!!! Yes agree he is a confidence rider but that can change with Risager from race to race and will always it seem stay with him all his career. He was signed as a potential no1 by cl he said but thats never going to happen lets face it and cls ridiculous "he will challenge Ben for no1 spot this season" comment do not help, as that puts more pressure on him that he does not need.
  17. Good meeting especially for an afternoon one until the dust spoiled it, goodness knows why it was not watered later on? And shock to see CL getting to work watering the track pre-meeting , shame he didn't do it after heat 12. Perhaps after all Risager will rival Ben for the no1 spot after fulfilling at last after over 2 years what he was signed to do in the first place! Adam certainly looks a future British champ after once again looking very impressive and some of Bens riding needed to be seen to be believed as he goes from last to first. Looked extremely dodgy after heat 8 losing by 2 points but a pat on the back to the riders for finishing so strongly and keeping the mouthy Leicester fans quiet
  18. Totally agree with track advantage but not a lot at foxhall as Bob do a fine job mostly. Agree it was a disgraceful performance from the Witches and that lead lost by heat 9 woeful
  19. LOL the times we have heard this its getting embarrassing for CL. What is he going to do then drop his golden boy (we all know who that is) and sign a rider who goes for the dirt wide etc lol
  20. At least here at Ipswich us posters on this forum are not afraid of printing the TRUTH about our team good or BAD Even if they rode appallingly at your bleak far off post, it was the Witches team not 2 guests that scored double what the home riders would have got
  21. I thought the "texter" was the worst ever Ive ever known and so biased it was beyond belief. One race she even went "woop woop woop" when Ben had an engine failure, totally disgraceful. When Risager actually won a race no comment at all was made until obviously prompted too, it all left a nasty taste in your mouth
  22. What a totally gutless performance, losing a 20 point lead by heat 9. This after Witches great all-round win Thursday to now dish up this utter crap display of showing no nous of what was needed whatsoever! It makes us fans feel embarrassed to be a supporter when this awful rubbish is what we get for our pains. Ben apart who rode well, the second top scorer getting only 4 points is woeful and to think this team can make the top 6 is laughable!!! Its time for honesty from the Witches promotion and admit this team put together is simply lacking in real guts and glory and thats whats needed for success. Riders not getting stuck in and pootling around the white line is not whats needed and simply they are not good enough and we need more riders who will seek the better lines out wide. While this type of rider remains at Ipswich its my belief the Witches will win nothing and all the talk-talk we get from CL before the season starts, will change naff all and quite frankly is meaningless.
  23. If a rider is left at the gate and catches riders by the first and 2nd bend and pass them around either of those bends, that in my book is a pass, I really do not know what the argument is about. Some people on this forum just argue for the sake of arguing ! Well whatever, it was a one sided result but a very entertaining meeting with a very solid performance from the Witches
  24. Well Gavan as you know and I know there is some squit commented on this site but it makes for good entertainment, so just lap it up and have a good laugh mate (better than watching the "young ones" )
