  1. Anybody know an alternative to the the Park and Ride at Cardiff City Stadium as assume this will be unavailable this year as Cardiff City are playing at home on the day of the GP. SGP Cardiff website has no information whatsoever about event parking this year which is oh so helpful.
  2. Don't know what's happened to Ipswich - can't believe this was the same team that pushed Swindon really hard at Blunsdon a few weeks ago, Pieszczek was outstanding that night but was really struggling tonight as were most of his team mates. The Budgies didn't have to break sweat - Doyley & Batch were a class apart and helped themselves to paid maximums. Special mention for Ellis Perks again; that guy tries so hard 4 paid 5 but deserves more with the amount of effort he puts in. With Wolves losing at K Lynn tonight, think we're well in contention for a play off place now.
  3. Wouldn't be anything to do with the fact that the Chairman of the BSPA owns Kings Lynn??
  4. Well I would do if I wasnt already a Swindon supporter and didn't live 140 miles from the track. I've been to the Showground this year to watch Swindon and liked it a lot so I'd urge all Panthers fans to get along and support their team even if the owner's motivation for buying the club was a bit questionable. Like I said I thought when Buster bought the club at the time it was an act of desperation just to keep the Premiership alive. Peterborough need somebody with the right intentions to buy the club, trouble is as we know Speedway clubs aren't a particularly attractive investment at the moment and buyers aren't exactly queuing up ..
  5. I maybe wrong but I get the impression Buster only purchased Peterborough to keep the Premiership going this season. I don't think he's interested in investing in the club and is not that bothered whether they survive or go bust. As far as he's concerned his action of buying the Panthers has kept the Premiership afloat this season so job done. I reckon he's banking on somebody else stepping up from the Championship next year. I fear for the future of the club and the sport in this country can't afford the loss of yet another track.
  6. Tai is outspoken & controversial at times but he's earned the right as a 3 times world champion and because of that you listen. Cook is not at that level & he just comes over as petulant. I remember Kenny Carter being outspoken and awkward but again he was World Class on a bike. And I'm not referring to his conduct at Eastbourne which I haven't seen. It's about his general attitude over the years in the sport. Take the British final recently; Charles Wright goes off on his victory lap on the trailer accompanied by Danny King but where's Cook? That's a lack of respect to Wright and King and to the meeting sponsors not to mention the fans. If he gets himself into next year's GP series and knocks out a run of decent scores I'll be the first to congratulate him.
  7. Have to agree with your description of Cook. I know he's admitted to having mental health issues in the past but he does come over as petulant & thinks he's better than he is. Will never be a GP regular.
  8. Even if all our riders had remained fit I don't think we would have finished much higher up other than in front of Germany and closer to Sweden. We only have one world class rider in Woffenden and Lambert who hopefully is set to get there soon. After that there's a gap. Bomber can't mix it at this level any more and Cook I feel won't progress much further until he starts riding in Poland against the best on a regular basis. Spending half his time in the UK 2nd tier won't make him into a top class rider.
  9. If we can only get Doyley and Batch going well on the same night when we're away from home. I know Jason had the problem with his steel shoe but even so it was a poor return from the 2017 world champion. Don't know if it is the early season injury that's affected him or what but he's not looked like the rider of 2017 this season. Considering we lost poor old Stefan early on the rest of the team all put a shift in. Let's hope the skipper returns to form soon and we can get in amongst the play offs.
  10. Given that the Robins were 15 pts adrift after 8 heats and had lost a rider this ended a lot closer than it could have done and had Razza not made a mistake whilst out in front in heat 12 we might even have nicked a point. Well done to Razza, Frenchie and Batch plus a special mention for Ellis Perks who rode his nuts off to no avail. Not sure what's wrong with Doyley - another indifferent performance - looks right off his game at the moment.
  11. Agreed Sid, we need to start picking up points on the road - I think we only managed 2 wins away from the Abbey last year, just wasn't enough. Let's hope Bellego can show some of his 2017 form this season where he turned in some real match winning performances.
  12. With you there Sid. Doyley and Batch will have to go a lot better than they did at Peterborough where both of them looked slow. Like you if Toby was riding I'd fancy us nicking a win.
  13. With the greatest respect Phil it's Speedway that has moved the date of this event into the football season. Surely the first thing for them to consider was what other events are going on in the City on that date? I think it was the responsibility of the Speedway authorities to approach Cardiff City FC and request that they avoid having a home fixture on 21st Sept. As you say the date was fixed months ago so they could have given the football club plenty of notice.
  14. Yes I noticed that. No issue with the GP being moved to Sept but couldn't the GP organisers have worked with Cardiff City FC to avoid a clash?
  15. Congratulations to Peterborough they had too much pace for the Robins tonight. Only Razza and Bellego looked to have any pace about them. Doyley & Batch seemed to lack power and looked off the pace.
  16. Great start by the Budgies but the Panthers right back in it. Razza flying again with Bellego getting stuck in too. Wells could swing it for 'boro, very impressive tonight. Batch looking slow compared with recent performances
  17. I'm looking forward to it anyway - always wanted to vist the East of England Arena and I believe Hans is riding and he'll go well tonight - he's always motivated against Swindon...
  18. I'd recommend any Panthers fans to turn up if they can to the rest of their home fixtures as I can't see the Premier League running next season - let's face it we wouldn't have it this year if it wasn't for Buster's act of desperation in buying both Peterborough and Ipswich. The sport's heading for semi professional status and one league imho.
  19. Do we get a set of binoculars to view the new track? With a smaller circuit spectators will be even further away from it than they are now...
  20. No disrespect to Kyle Howarth but with MPT missing any faint chance KL had of rescuing their title attempt has gone imo. As another poster said messrs Riss, Proctor and Jorgensen will have to pull their fingers out to make a fight of it. Sad that the Premiership's grand finale is ending in acrimony, insults and bitterness.
  21. Rosco and Terry Russell should hang their heads in shame at that excuse for a speedway meeting last night. A poor track, sloppy tired presentation and some riders just going through the motions in scruffy delapidated stadium. And both Rosco and Terry R have the cheek to urge supporters to make an effort to support the team. As somebody else said on this thread the BSPA rely on the goodwill of the current supporters to watch dross like last night. There's little chance anybody else than die hard fans would put up with it. As Rosco said in his programme notes he and his chums at the BSPA have to be radical at this year's AGM to save the sport in this country.
  22. I support Rosco in most things regarding the Robins but I think he's got this wrong. I appreciate he's frustrated at losing money over the KO cup but criticising fans for calling this a dead rubber is ill judged. It is a dead rubber, the result changes nothing. Furthermore, I know it's not their fault but the Aces have half their team missing so it's not exactly an attractive event. Why should people fork out another £17 per head to stand about on what is likely to be a cold night. I think if he chose a more conciliatory tone he'd get a better response from supporters.
  23. Why is it when it rains we have to go through this pointless ritual of getting the tractors out to try make the track raceable? It must have rained for about 20 minutes and you could see the water lying on the track. But we have to wait until the referee, clerk of the course, Rosco,Ronnie Russell and anybody else who wants a say, have all said their piece just to decide the tractors should come out. All they do is turn over wet shale. If they'd ridden on it, it would have been like ice and somebody would have been injured. It was obvious after it had been raining for 20 mins it wasn't going to dry out, so why waste everyone's time trying to return the track to a raceable condition? As per usual the long suffering Speedway fan gets shafted.
  24. Congratulations to Kings Lynn Stars for finishing top of the SGB Prem. Good luck in the play offs
  25. Congratulations to both Belle Vue and Somerset Rebels on their play offs qualification. Good luck to both teams...
