  1. Oh yes, I'd forgotten about Czech Repub already in final, what a farce.
  2. I don't think that tony carter is anybody's child. i think he was the result of an experiment that went wrong.
  3. You have to laugh or you'd go crazy. It's been revealed on the Parken GP thread that the 'empty head' is a guy called Tony Carter and it would appear that his verbal gaffs are not unique to Speedway coverage.
  4. Yes, http://www.motorcycl...topic-id=333309 he's does seem to be a 'cult' figure. Just been browsing through some old posts on various motorctcle forums. Hells bells they've been trying to get rid of this turkey for years. Best suggestion was that he should appear on the next episode of 'celebrity gas chamber'.
  5. Er. The only bit that Eurosport do is the interval man, the rest is the world feed from BSI which comes complete with Kelvin and Nigel. Think that we've got the guy for the rest of the series and the SWC. He is well frustrating but is now becoming somewhat of a cult figure. Who is he? Where does he broadcast from? Is he on some kind of hallucinogenic substance? Is he really part of Eurosport or some hacker taking the pi$$? Is he BigFatDave?
  6. I would suspect that any money forthcoming would disappear into the BSPA's murky depths. Unfortunatly British Speedway doesn't have a governing body or any organ that's main interest is the furtherment of that sport.
  7. Slovenia Very scenic country, nice people, great food. Takes some beating on all counts. Hire a car visit the country, stay in Ljubliana or Maribor. (Nice bars, restaurants and good saturday morning markets in both). Good big track at Krysko, banked viewing all round. Avoid expensive main stand and sit on banking at turn 1 or back straight-loads of atmosphere. That's only my recommendation but i don't think that your friend will be disappointed.
  8. It won't as Eurosport don't have any filming capabilities or whatever, this has been explained elsewhere on this forum i believe.
  9. Watch the very end of it. The crowd were applauding and cheering, they seemed to enjoy it.
  10. El Rosco! Was he not speaking a foreign language the other night?
  11. The BSI feed even with Stadtler and Waldorf at the track is fine. All Eurosport need to do is add a one minute catch up at the break and they come up with this muppet. 'Kasperitch' ffs!
  12. Too right. Turned over to Discovery channel to watch "Fred Dibnah Knocks down a Bolton Chimley" with commentary by Nig and Kelv. Whooooooooooooa.
  13. I'll say this only once. I wondered who would be the first one to play the woeful anti-Poole card. Congratulations.
  14. I've sat and watched some pretty crap GPs and league matches on Sky over the years but mostly I've stuck with them. In the main Sky coverage was pretty professional. Even when they had Millard commentating from a studio in London the sound of the bikes and atmosphere came thro' from the track but Eurosport make no effort to get it right. As for over running, under running they do the same with everything that they cover it's as if anything will do. No they are poor broadcasters. Why is it a big task? You only need a bloke in a box with a mic talking over the feed. It's not rocket science.
  15. My understanding of Eurosport is that they don't actually do any filming themselves and that SKY tv do actually film the EL themselves. Please correct me if i'm wrong. If this is so I can't see Eurosport taking the EL as they have no filming capabilities. Ditto, as soon as a saw that i started looking at the planner. btw Doesn't Tai guest for us?
  16. Agreed. All they need to do is go and watch it live.
  17. What I saw was enough. 1st five heats missing, Zagar riding for Czecho, missing start, terrible sound, canned studio commentary from a numpty (scotty excepted). I expect a more professional package rather than the usual Eurosport anything will do. The sport deserves better. Is it not time for your paper round?
  18. I'm not complaining about the actual racing, ok it was rubbish - a put-up, meaningless meeting, it's the poor production that i object to. It's doing nothing for speedway and it's going to turn people away from the sport. if your happy with watching a third rate production ok. It's your license fee....(or not).
  19. Well i have. I watch the ski jumping on Eurosport and the coverage of that is also low budget stuff i.e crap. Sometimes it even cuts off about 10 minutes before the end. The prestigous Four Hills Tournament this winter, they only showed 3 hills. The sound on the speedway coverage is terrible, the bikes just sound like there's a fly in the curtains, and it's obvious that the commentary is canned and the presenter is a numpty. It's frustrating. Better to do without. i turned off last night after 20 minutes.
  20. Eurosport now showing what crap coverage they offer. Commentators in a studio, no sound or atmosphere from the track, missed heats, missed starts. PANTS.
  21. Shame about the track as the promoters have got the one day tracks pretty much sorted these days and I'm sure that if there's a lesson to be learned from it they will learn it. Scotty and Sophie were very good in their presentation roles hope to see more of them on eurosport and possibly TV in general. Very good indeed. Not sure about the other guy though, waving his arms about like a muppet. btw Suprised that no one has blamed Matt Ford for the track condition. maybe the trolls are have not come out from under the bridge yet.
