Naah... I had it coming... Just thought it would be different... Salmiakki was all gone, someone had beat me to it! But it was a good meeting, alltough the track wasn't that great. Some very interesting development behind the scenes at the moment regarding Finnish Extraliiga speedway. Like said about the Pori meeting in three weeks, that look's to be a real cracker! Teams booking riders from Sweden faster than I can put a name to a face. If the weather permits it will be the meeting of the season. Extraliiga at Pori 27th July, parade starts at 1800 hrs Extraliiga at Kauhajoki 28th July, parade starts 1350 hrs EDIT: Full results from the 2nd Kauhajoki Speedway now online on the bottom of page 9 on this thread.

After a month I just needed a week's break already. Thank god for the possibility of doing the hours "in to the bank". Now that my holiday of nine days is in it's final hours, I have the chance to lift my feet up and put the Cardiff tape on.

Only about 400+... Was too busy defending my opinions about tracks and riders to people who disagreed with my views. Strongly I might add. We took a minibuss load of people there too and raised some money for Jari on the side. We had one potential big sponsor with us also and he really liked what he saw in how Jari rode and acted off track. I have now completed my change of service provider when it comes to my domain and webspace. In practise it means I now have .php support and ready-to-use code to open up a photo gallery of my own. All I now need is a month to sort all my pics and put them online. So stay tuned for the gallery of "The Finnish Mike Patrick"

I've been so busy that I have forgot to post about the fact that the U19 European qualifier is now online in clips here.

Lahti fought well against him but had no chance. Keskinen dropped points in places he shouldnt and then messed up his start in the final. When behind he was ordinary, fast while in front. Katajisto surprisingly lost to Mustonen in their heat. Autio looked very ordinary but got plenty of points in the preli's. Riders to pick and point out today were Mäkinen (of course), Lahti did well, Mustonen rode better (and with courage) than ever. Katajisto looked good but gated badly and could't fight back. Another good meeting for me in a row, alltough racing varied from heat to heat. I was also told that the Extraliiga meeting on friday was the best meeting in Finland this season racing wise. Results from that tomorrow afternoon.

Sorry about that... They never rode it. Without a doubt the biggest thing in Finnish speedway during the new millenium never happened. It will be staged at Seinäjoki this friday. Also the other meeting ment to be ridden at Vaasa will be at Seinäjoki. Here's the Finnish calendar for the rest of the season as I see it, but dont travel without doublechecking through me... I'm going to Lahti today and probably just have time to post the results, then I'll be offline until saturday when I'm coming back from the U21 final in the evening. Cardiff Attendance

I've been to Cardiff twice, and it look's the same. Around 40k -
Didn't know sportowefakty makes mistakes? But their story says it's quoted from corren.se, the source that has made me a nervwreck!
-
The story has changed again... How come we have been getting the info we have???? Through to semifinal: Damian Balinski (12 poäng) Mikael Max (12), Kenneth Bjerre (12), Fredrik Lindgren (11), Tomasz Gapinski (11), Kaj Laukkanen (11) och Jonas Davidsson (10). Reserv blev finländaren Kauko Nieminen (9). EDIT: And 15 minutes ago sportowefakty has published the results where Nieminen is through ann Laukkanen out?? What really has happened?
-
Dont know the rules so well, and infact I think they have changed too, but I'd say now that there's NO way like will ride in the semi. If reserve, he might have.
-
or five? I have been fallowing this for the whole season now, Laukkanen hasn't really beaten any of the "big names" this year. For example he rode against Jensen three times in a Danish league meeting about 3 weeks ago. He was telling me how he did so great´and got 18 points in the end. Well he lost to Jensen every time they met. And now once more, when it really counted.
-
YIIIIIIIHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Balinski won it.

Cardiff Attendance
f-s-p replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
First news in here from Cardiff is that 50k is expected at the Millenium today... -
Doesn't it say three HOME riders in the re-run...
-
"Piratförarna Mikael Max, Damian Balinski och Kenneth Bjerre hamnade alla på 12 poäng i dagens GP-kval. Så nu krävs omkörning om segern. Övriga som är klara för semifinal är Tomasz Gapinski, Jonas Davidsson, Fredrik Lindgren och Jesper B Jensen." Thats it then, Kauko didn't make it
-
Should be through then... Hometrack advantage???

Updates from Motala?????
-
I wonder whats going on with Joonas... At the moment he's riding like Laukkanen, great today and poor the next. I discussed this with someone and a point was made that now that the new avg's are in in Elite league I could expect him to score well again. Same goes for his riding in Sweden, he's been hitting the Laukkanen figures for a month now and even though they've had tight matches he's been allowed to take his four rides anyway with 010 or similar from the first three. Go figure Finland will be slaughtered in Vojens.
