heathen chemistry replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
coventry been rather poor at home ,garrity been the get out of jail card a few times carrying a few injuries , track might be getting more moisture in now as weather changes ,kylmakorpi likes it slik as, can see a struggle on the cards , swindon will have the darcy effect , plus if the ref is like wednesday and on swindons side the result could be a bad one for the bees need to be well prepared... -

another reason why squads wont ever come in , clubs prefer to cherry pick riders as per track ,better off getting a so called track specialist then risking a lot of money on a foreigner whose never rode there...? -

Squads (why They Wont Work)

matt ford and his poole corale said that a few times , not many other folk have said it... i dont think thats the case , the logistics wouldnt work, most elite clubs have tight schedules, ie this week swindon at belle vue monday, at poole wednesday , and at coventry friday , some times weds and thurs meeting are we to suggest that if a swindon rider got injured on the weds that the squad member would fly over for the thurs meeting???? and at what cost, its easier for clubs to get a pl/el guest..... poland /sweden have one match a week on set day, the riders know if there riding or not in advance, our schedule as it is wouldnt work with squads as you'd need squad members to be ready to go at any time with little or no advanced warning ,due to tight fixtures . and with them being in another country makes it anon starter -
Squads (why They Wont Work)

How would being part of a squad where you might not get a ride encourage more to ride over here? and what about the cost of bikes, mechanics, flights, etc for exactly how many meetings? i also believe squads would not do away with the need for guests and r/r ,what if you have injuries look at kings lynn, millik missing, lambert injured, lewis kerr injured that puts massive pressure on the 3 other so called squad members to be there and ride, what if one of those is unavailable aswell either through injury or riding in sweden/denmark etc , what do you do then? and would these squad members be happy just waiting around doing nothing waiting for a call up to ride.. that wouldnt work , theres no one size fits all because averages dictate eligability what if you have 2 heat leaders missing, teams utilise 2 reserves? would fans call that elite league -
squads and reasons why they simply are not feasable in the elite teams would need to consist of at least ten riders maybe 11 or 12 that is 8 teams on average 4 extra riders = 32 where are these 32 riders coming from

strange decision, when have sky ever done this before, they never change this late in the day, theyve been pluggin this match for weeks sky doing poole another favour, someone at sky must be a big poole fan its obvious that if the weather is wet it wont help poole and if sky are in town there's the added pressure of getting the match on which puts poole at a disadvantage also theres the chance of it being another farce like the coventry match , ford wouldnt want to risk that happening...

Elite League 2016 - What Is Required?
heathen chemistry replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It wont thou ..... clubs wont want to drop that ability to have a track specialist on a low average as match winning guest with no fall back of guests or r/r , clubs will be in a position where by they would be forced to track certain riders (due to injuries to other rider/s) in there squad that could be either off form or like some foreigners not particularly reliable meaning riders missing ....then wat? and some riders who ride over here make there money from being a favourite amongst guest bookings, No guests - meaning less matches = less salary certainly agree about corbyn !! -
i dont believe that back in the day racing was harder or dirtier at all the bikes were slower , the tracks had more shale on which helped when riders were pushed out wide , basic equipment , thick leathers which gave more protection.. things have changed, bikes are much faster which mean injuries are more likely, tracks are slicker meaning riders just skate like on ice into the fences without scrubbing much speed off, riders wear kevlars which offer little protection, just look over the past years the serious injuries go back to the 60's how many of the top riders had serious career ending injuries? mauger, olsen , briggs , fundin, and many more of the top stars were rarely injured and had long careers in todays times teams are having r/r and guests almost every match due to riders being out injured that wasnt happening no where near as often in the 60's even thou there was many more teams and many more riders ..... quik look at tonights match ay king lynn , between the 2 teams the line up includes 6 guests and an r/r that never happened back in the 60's , when you think there was 20 odd british league teams and how many national league teams injuries should have been more prolific but they wasn't,

RUBBISH kids love a little scuffle , how popular is WWE with kids , gregs jump was nothing as violent as some of the wrestling moves! yes greg lost it , but i can totally see why he did , its not the first time nicki done this to greg nickys kick in the leg to the torun manager sunday , and he also did it to zagar last year ON THE TRACK seem to go unpunished..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xXH4yEHmqA example of how nicki carnt take being beaten fairly in a hard race!!!
-
So nicki didnt like being jumped on by greg, but its ok for him to KICK the manager of torun? Anyone see nicki last night in sweden , on the phone to the ref after a race after being beaten by laguta, no contact at all was just hard riding but he carnt take loseing , \\ he likes to dish it but carnt take it

the 2 over 7 will be dropped back to old skool points limit perhaps more important is are the likes of newman , garrity be made to go into main body of team ... if they are i can only see newman being a casualty of another foreigner when poole strengthen up for the play offs etc....that is of course if poole still want him at number 2? -
isnt this a bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted with the news of redevelopment at arena essex . lakeside bosses hoping to show that speedway is supported well? and is needed in any future changes to site etc why leave it till now to suddenly wake up and promote the sport.or make it look like it is well suported typical british speedway trundling along quite happily on the sky funds , then.....oops rubbish wheres the fans the landlords are here , is speedway still viable? er yes of course just watch sky sports on monday to see how well its supported!!! dont want to see any club close , but we all know speedway in need of more fans , sponsors etc forward thinkers....anyone...
