Quite possible for the Lions top 5 to fill a lot of the minor places when up against the Ippo top two but not all of the time. Can expect a Leicester win on the night but not by more than 4 points - Sure hope I'm wrong, but least there will be the consolation of seeing two of the worlds best race at our humble abode, even better if a Lion gets the better of them a few times.

It seems that NP has come to terms with the inevitable fact that the more races a rider has, the more risk to injury there is and recognises that at this late stage of his career, his body is not likely to be able to take much more. Sure, he still chooses to race and continue run the risks, but the risks are lower with fewer rides and frankly it is good he has come to terms with the fact. He gave it a go at Peterborough but unfortunately for everybody, learnt the lesson the hard way. Speedway riders should take heed from the fight game where far too many boxers have taken that "one fight too many" - Good luck Nicki for however long your speedway career continues, you have never ridden for clubs I support, but I will be forever grateful for the hours of entertainment you have provided - even if some of it made my blood boil at the time!

Difficult track for the riders last evening, but all the riders gave it a good go. With no possibility of track grading it was always going to be a case of limited racing/passing - but there was some so both track staff & riders deserve recognition for their efforts to get the meeting on & completed. Well done guys (& girls)

All makes good sense based on "what we know now" - However, which clubs/promotions will have the cash/courage/ability to ring the changes if things don't go according to plan? Or which promoters/team managers do we think have put a team together which they feel will not make the playoffs and thus do nothing about improving their prospects once the season is well under way. For me Leicester (SD) will not stand idle should playoff prospects look bleak - for that reason alone Lions will be in top 4.

The Leicester Stadium was built with racing taking place a few years before the dumping of earth took place. This action was fully controlled & compliant with the required regulations. The other uses (football & BMX) could still use the “raised” land for their sport but these have not been forthcoming. The money raised paid off the loans for the building of the stadium and if anybody with spare land wishes to raise money in a similar way then developers would love to hear from you as getting rid of earth is always a challenge.

That would definitely create a sell out plus a world wide TV deal that the whole of UK speedway could live off for decades!

I agree a trust can be created from scratch - everything has to start somewhere (and I speak as a current trustee of a significant trust fund) - but restrictions on being able to create sufficient income on an ongoing basis severely restricts the concept of a trust raising sufficient funds to continue to provide the levels of cash to buy/develop speedway stadiums as suggested by the original poster which was to provide funds on a wider scale than just one facility i.e. Brandon. Regarding charity status, The suggestion is not that the stadiums themselves would be a charity. That would be the status of the "Speedway Society" akin to any "building Society" - As for tax, you are correct, trusts benefit from various unique tax advantages however, like building societies to be tax efficient to the benefit of its members, a speedway society should also be none profit making having ensured any capital raised higher than total cost is "gifted" or "invested" prior to the end of an applicable financial period and thus reducing the tax burden. Of course on top of this the charity would benefit from specific tax break applicable to charities.

Seems strange that this does indeed look the to be the likely case. Can anybody shed any real reason(s) why this is so? i.e. Asking for too much money, Average too high/low or reliability issues etc etc. Would be god to have any answers based on fact rather than negative biased "opinion" Overall from a fans perspective. It would be sad to see him (a British) rider missing from PL action.
