And you know this how?

Ipswich V Edinburgh 03/10
Lord Antebellum replied to BluPanther's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bach AND Klindt? Edinburgh must now be hoping and praying for a no-nonsense referee on the button. Bach will at least try if he doesn't get a flying start though. Klindt won't. -
I think Tsunami understands what I meant, and Mister SHOUTY doesn't.

After last night's TV, who cannot like the play-offs? Riders showing more commitment than in "ordinary" matches, bigger-than-usual crowds at both tracks, intense racing -- these two meetings had it all.

What did Mr Allen say? He would certainly be a 100% better bet - on every front - than the moody Dane, if you were choosing a No 1.

And can even win the cup/league double..........

Glasgow V Plymouth Pl Sun 15th Sept @3p.m.

Humming and hawing about a quick two-day trip to follow the Devils. It isn't the prospect of defeat in the north (I'm an Exeter Falcon, it used to happen all the time) that puts me off, it is the weather! Decision will be made after tonight's weather on TV. -
Somerset V Berwick Pl 6/9/13 @ 7:30pm

I'm glad I went up for this. Had been going to SBA until cancelled, but had a fair night's entertainment. Having criticised the Rebels' team changes, I admit Charles Wright did everything Stefan might have achieved. Jury has to remain out on other change, of course. Nice that Rebels were publicly welcoming of "their friends, the Berwick promotion" -- were there any Bandits' fans there at all? Dick Barrie made an impassioned speech about fence-fund-raising (and proudly displayed his BMX ticket and Ashworth wristband) and has continued the long-term double act with Nigel T we enjoyed at the County Ground in years gone by. -

That was a better meeting than the score suggested. Clearly the track had been watered less than usual, which was hugely understandable in view of always-threatening rain (which never actually arrived) and this took away the usual wide lines for the more-adventurous racers. Berwick all tried hard, but were generally out-gated in the latter part of the night, but never gave up. Charles Wright was adventurous to an extreme in his home debut. The meeting ran through quickly, always something going on. No complaints from me. A good night out. -
Great idea, hope both teams get a big-name guest, as suggested. The so-called superstars who didn't do the BenFund event this year let themselves down and a couple will hopefully grace this hugely-deserving occasion instead. I would have come up, except my beloved Falcons will be flying again at St Boniface that weekend, and I can't miss that!

I too hope weather holds off and this is on, I like Berwick's visits and with Dick Barrie having promised to come and buy a raffle ticket for the fencefund, we'll get entertainment between races too. A shame Kozza Smith is injured, but Robin Aspegren and Matthew Wethers can certainly get around the OTA and will keep the Rebels honest. A home win for sure, three points unless Wright can't provide the points Stefan would have, maybe two if reserves let Somerset down. -
Where Is It All Going Wrong At Berwick?
Lord Antebellum replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In amongst a fair bit of nonsense in this thread, someone pointed out that Berwick were expecting to enter the league with a different side, built around a double spearhead of Ashworth and Alden. The late withdrawal by Alden had the effect of taking not only him, but young Albin (well thought of as an out and out trier at Sheffield) out of the line-up, and caused an imbalanced team, especially after Ashworth was injured the first time. I think in Kozza Smith the Bandits did find a returning hero, but others weren't always at the races. I have seen them five times in 2013, and at no time have they looked a bad team, but just not good enough without Alden and Ashworth as a big top two. As a fairly avid reader of many threads on this forum, I see a couple of regulars who have nothing but poisonous mischief in mind -- one in particular is clearly jealous or envious of the promotion/management. Very sad. -
Somerset Team Changes

Absolutely. Hopefully, the BSPA MC might give special dispensation if either or both were to be invited to fill in for an injured rider elsewhere, even if the "transfer window" has passed. -
Somerset Team Changes

This is a big own goal by the Rebels' promotion. Their public saw a terrific match, and Stefan Neilsen giving everything to their cause last night, yet he is dumped after the meeting. Supporters might like success, but not at any price. I thought that was about the best match I've seen this year at the OTA, yet all we are talking about today is the reserves being sacked. Bad PR.
