  1. Pleased you seem prepared to have an adult discussion rather than gainsay. The issue of who was primary cause will always be a subjective one of course. Is a group of referees going to be impartial in judging a colleague? Are they more likely to close ranks? Carter or Penhall? I've always agreed with Kittelsen's decision - Carter made a mistake of judgement, fell, and that was the primary cause of the race being stopped. Apparently the referee apologized to Janowski yesterday for his error of judgement. Is that a first??
  2. And neither are Rye House so there should be no problem for getting a Cov team sorted. Can even include KK now he's been sacked by Poole.
  3. Well as I don't get involved in infantile stuff, I'll not pursue further on this particular point with you.
  4. I think he is a decent bloke, but he's getting beaten in that respect by his own demons. The ban is correct and who knows who he will ride for in the future. I'd imagine that promoters will be very wary at the moment though (not withstanding the ban).
  5. Jim Lynch may have his faults as a Manager, but what he had to deal with on Monday would have been a challenge to anyone in that situation. He also had TV interviews to fulfil, and he dealt with those well, as opposed to Mr Rossiter who seemed mainly interested in making cheap shots. No, what lost Leicester that match, took place on the track. Some daft decisions by riders, one of them not helped by his unfamiliarity with the track and with his team-mate, and poor performances by certain riders when the chips were down. And one bad refereeing decision.
  6. Good that Lions management have been active in looking at ways to boost the interest levels in what's left of the season. Think he will do well to average 6.5 so I hope people don't get expecting him to go round hitting double figures all the time because it's not going to happen. Presume the deal ensures Lions have priority over him but what would happen if Walasek or MJJ or Meidzinski gets injured and Torun need a replacement? But it also underlines the relative status of the British and Polish leagues when a rider who is out of form can be farmed out to help him recover it for the principal benefit of the Polish league. It's a shame Garrity and Leicester just don't seem to be a good mixture, I've a feeling that he's reached his limit and is another Adam Roynon.
  7. Taken from an email I have seen from his wife Lena, Ila underwent a major back operation which in itself was successful. However, he then suffered a pulmonary embolism. A huge shock, RIP.
  8. Looks like Kevin Wolbert is in decent form lately. Maybe he'd now be eligible to replace Garrity. That's if he'd want to come back.
  9. One observation in addition. Occasionally slow to update riders positions during races. Also no sign of Chris Louis (bad thing or good??) but was probably there in a different capacity so unable to take part in broadcast.
  10. So what happened to L.Bjerre's super new trapping engine? Did his big brother take it off him? A team with both Garrity and Bjerre in it's main body is going to have problems. Never mind riding as a pairing. They're both unpredictable in races and matches. So looks like one of them is going to have to go. And I think it's been made obvious as to which one. Ayres could be at risk as well, not his fault but victim of the shortcomings of the 1-5.
  11. Ok, will use my "proceeds of crime" money for this one
  12. At least you should have 7 riders giving it their best efforts instead of 6 plus one mardy-arsed Slovenian
  13. I used to wonder sometimes where DH kept his testicles
  14. Difficult one! On the one hand you have the Hemsley-style bulldung completely estranged from reality, and on the other hand this type of approach which does make you wonder which planet Mr Lynch is living on. Why does it seem to be so difficult to find and appoint a team manager who is able to take the right approach. I don't think Norrie Allan is the answer, though.
  15. N.Pedersen in the twilight of his career (or even at the end), NKI starting to look a spent force in the GP's......there doesn't seem to be a new wave of Danes ready to take up the mantle. Jepsen Jensen, Mikkelsen, Bech, ....they all promised a lot, but seem to have lost their way. Is the once-great power on the wane, as Poland marches ever onwards? It can't be good for this to be happening, can it?
  16. Presumably these people living along A roads are annoyed about sounds from Beaumont Park drowning out the traffic noise? Maybe a couple of hundred permanent mannequins can be installed to bulk up the crowd size and improve the noise absorption, with spring loaded footings so the real spectators can punch them if the results are not good?
  17. I think what you have in mind is Marketing and Promotion and, as others have said, that's the remit of others at the club.
  18. Your comments are like Marmite Robt72 but on this occasion I think your personal attack on Alan Jones is completely out of order
  19. Somebody in the Leicester management needs to sort Garrity out by giving him some good old fashioned hairdryer treatment. His eyebrows ought to be smoking tonight.
  20. Would it be worth Coventry forming a Championship/NL level team and stage a couple of "home fixtures" this season at Leicester? Maybe in July/August on weekends the Lions are not at home? Probably would need generosity on the part of the Beaumont Park landlord, however!
  21. Garrity and Bjerre paired together? There's plenty of potential there - including for them both going for the same piece of track at the same time. Not for the squemish, children and animals!
  22. On a quick count, that's 7 remaining fixtures on a Saturday, and 5 non-Saturday. So it could become 6/6 or even 5/7 the way things are going. Better get used to this ratio becoming more permanent in future. I think its the only way a "Saturday" team can hope to remain in business and have a competitive side. Even so, we now have Poland acting like they want to wipe out other leagues by staging some of their fixtures on weekdays and acting like the Mafia with riders. This SGB Premiership is going to struggle to attract the main sponsor it needs the way its going. Good on Wolves for making the date change. Wonder if they'd have been as helpful if we still had the previous promotion in charge?
  23. If the match v Wolves has to be called off as well, that's going to put a big hole into the home fixtures. Mondays is starting to look like the only viable race night for this league in terms of rider availability.
