Premiership 23/04/18 - Leicester v Swindon
Big Al replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Was there another Hemsley-style rant after this collapse? There are two riders who look as if they're heading for the exit door. I also think K.Bjerre is on a false average from his season at the NSS and doesn't produce under pressure. -
Hello Glyn In your Leicester days I think you once said that you were doing a majority clay mix, because the riders preferred it. Am I remembering that right? If so, why is it now the reverse at Poole?
-
I hope that MPT will be able to return to the team before too long. But there's the chance of course that he's going to be snapped up elsewhere before long. Kurtz looks like a cheap short term filler-in to me, so whilst MPT and Bates are waiting in wings, the pressure stays on King, Newman and Sarjeant and one or even two of those could be removed especially if Pieszczek continues his form. Newman's made a promising start, he had to this year and so if that continues the spotlight will be on King and Sarjeant.

What would Jon Armstrong be? 2? Or Connor Mountain. They both seem to like BP track
-
Hoping that Bomber's had his Shredded Wheat today
-
Will it be 1. Mysery man 2. Andersen 3. Pieszczek 4. Palm Toft 5. Bates 6. Newman 7. Serjeant Reasoning being the form of HA and KP so far can let DK go so as to include new no.1 and save on a loan fee??
-
I wonder how much priority will be given to avoiding incurring loan fees when it comes to team changes? The new No.1 will probably incur having to pay one out, so if it's a case of balancing the books KP, JB and JS would be more likely retained than DK, MPT and KN. There'd probably be a riot if HA were let go!

Still rankles with me and I only spent £16 and support Leicester! Not just lapped but drifted out and put other riders at risk
-
Matej Zagar would cause a division between those who think he's a p***-taking shyster, and those who say he's a p***-taking shyster.
-
So it's either Sergei "I'm still riding" Darkin or Henning "Showtime" Bager. Keep on teasing, flagrag
-
I'm wondering if Gorzow are holding Leicester responsible for what happened to Vaculik, by not doing more to get the match called off?
-
Will it, though? Not a great record. The problem is, there are so many weaknesses in the system that its inevitable that sometime soon, one of them's going to blow. The decision-making process seems sclerotic.
-
Blooming heck this is going to hit Leicester in the pocket a bit. Woffinden? AJ? Nilsson (with arm-twisting)? Nicki "Box Office" P? In the meantime, R/R could be ok for Monday.

Leicester v Poole SGB Premiership A. 9/4/18
Big Al replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well on the first point I have doubts about the Leicester management having any control over the Coventry operation as they're both tenants. If Leicester management is happy and confident to run the day after Coventry in terms of accepting the possibility of the track sometimes needing remedial work and preparing the track so that it's consistent for the Leicester riders, then all's well and fine. -

Yes with this afternoon's rain it had no chance regardless. We will never know whether or not it would have gone ahead tonight if today had stayed dry. -

I'm not sure if the Leicester management has any control over Coventry matches. Probably a completely separate arrangement with the stadium landlord but maybe with track machinery and equipment hired from Leicester? -

How much did the Coventry match contribute to this call-off? With the current weather and the forecast for some rain later (but not a lot, perhaps) the Poole match might have been 50/50 and called off anyway but I think yesterday may have fully put the kybosh on things and made track prep impossible. -

Reshaped track? When was that done? -
Pleased that the coffee aroma has a last reached the right place

Tru Plant Stars v Leicester Lions: KO Cup Wed 4th April
Big Al replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The water table is currently very high which means that ground is already very waterlogged and only a small amount of rain will just sit on top and not drain away. It's about sensible risk management -
Leicester Lions v Tru Plant Stars - Easter Monday - OFF
Big Al replied to Trees's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Problem is, with GB now playing third fiddle to Polish and Swedish leagues, GB only has a short time to be the main league before the others take over their places in the pecking order. So going straight into the league and cup programme late March/early April and playing roulette with the weather is almost forced upon GB, and it also provides pre-season practice for foreign riders as Leicester know only too well. -
Leicester Lions v Tru Plant Stars - Easter Monday - OFF
Big Al replied to Trees's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This cup tie is very important to both clubs what with both having endured difficult seasons and trying to revive their fortunes, a win will be a big booster to the winners. Better to decide now to reschedule, and also avoid having to go in without a complete 1-7 from Lions point of view. -
Barker's too boom or bust. Looking at the away fixtures in particular, Palm Toft looks a decent choice.

I fear another weird injury if Josh Bates ever wins it
