  1. I agree with everything you've said.
  2. Funnily enough when I was moving house in January I found a Leicester Lions t shirt in my shed. I've got loads of memorabilia up in my loft, & I chucked a folding footrest & one or two other bits away when I moved.
  3. Never heard of him. Seriously though you are quite welcome to have a browse through my race jackets, I live in Syston if you want to pm me, & I found out this morning I am going to Cardiff, thanks to a mate I do work for in Wales, who gave me 4 free tickets. I bought a pair of leathers off Ray Wilson because he always hated them (red ones with black & white pattern as seen on front of one of the history of speedway tapes), & I always used to get booed when I rode at Coventry in them . My biggest regret is giving them to a young rider when I packed it in.....DOH !
  4. Over 70 race jackets including Leicester, but they aren't for sale I'm afraid. Favourite riders were Ray Wilson & Johnnie Boulger (who my two sisters were mad on). Happy days.
  5. Which only goes to prove that Ray Wilson was to speedway what the late great Georgie Best was to football.
  6. I remember buying the chequered leathers of Willy, & picking them up from his mechanic's house one Saturday morning. In the afternoon I answered a knock on the door to find Ray standing there asking if he could borrow them back because he'd forgotten his own & was on his way to Kings Lynn. If I recall correctly he scored 10 points in his last meeting in them.
  7. Is it Albert Steptoe to the right of Stan Stevens?
  8. Certainly can. The riders foot belongs to Malcolm Brown (Leicester) & the rider in fourth place (that's last) was, I believe Rick France (Coventry). 4-2 to Leicester I think you'll find.
  9. Do you mean these? http://community.webshots.com/photo/153283...472389766xKENtK <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just in case my old mate Howling Gorgon can't identify the riders in Gem's picture, it's Ray Wilson (Leicester) LEADING Nigel Boocock (Coventry). No don't thank me, it's a pleasure. Where is HG anyway?
  10. Blimey Jim, you've just put me off me breakfast.
  11. Funnily enough, I was talking to Quasimodo about this the other day, & he also had a hunch. Ahh Quasimodo.......that name rings a bell.
  12. Well at least you had the courtesy to reply Bob, even if it was bl**ox. Thank you for that.
  13. Still very quite down Poo way, so next time you feel like slagging off any other rider for 20 odd pages, complete with silly drawings & moans about wrong camera angles etc. just remember two little words....Antonio & Lindback. I rest my case.
  14. Ah well, that's the finish to the most boring world championship ever. Who really gives a toss what happens from now on? Roll on 2006, let's hope it's a bloody site more exciting than this years yawnfest.
  15. "& there's Phil Crump looking excited"! Looking excited? Looked to me like he'd just licked a dog turd.
  16. Find it hard to disagree with Dame Edna Havelock. He made a very good point when he said, & I quote: " MmmmmmmmmumblemumblemumblePedersencumumblemumble". Nice one Gary. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  17. Oh wait don't tell me, the camera was at the wrong angle again............................Yeh right.
  18. I trust all the Poo fans who wasted 20 odd pages slagging Nicki off will now do the same over Antonio Pedersen?.............................Nah, didn't think so.
  19. My prediction: 1st: Nicki Pedersen 2nd: Who cares? second place is for losers
  20. I don't think "the old buffer" as you so disrespectfully refer to him as owes anyone any respect as far as speedway goes. Ivan was, & still is a legend in the sport & was also a household name during his glittering career. Comparing Tony to Ivan is the same as trying to compare Peter Craven to Bluey Wilkinson, or Peter Collins to Jack Parker. Different riders, different machines, different tracks etc. They are/were all brilliant riders in their own time.
  21. Well done dd. It wasn't the tosspot referee that was to blame after all, or the fact he rode like a big girl in his last ride, it was the orange wheels.
