  1. Bad timing even with understandable reasons. Given he has no other Speedway commitments it would have been more helpful to at least "encourage" Kennett to stay on and do the first meeting then quit? He cops a ban for with holding services, Plymouth get to run RR until a replacement is found.....
  2. I would have let you off its if was about Cradley . All a matter of context and we all have bad days posting and reading things different ways on different days. Confusion doesn't take much but no offence taken
  3. I wasn't confused i was sad as it appeared that you were point scoring over the demise of another club and as one of the respected Brum posters i thought it was both unusual and unnecessary. Nobody wants to see Birmingham fold but contrary to most promotions and board members opinions those who post on here are (largely) not thick, they know the level of team required to draw sufficient numbers, they know when they are being widely fibbed to about official vs actual attendances and they certainly know whats worth paying to watch. I personally would rather watch a slightly weaker home side have to battle for the wins against stronger visitors rather than vast home dominance so im just hoping the Brum can get riders signed and achieve weaker rather than just weak.
  4. Following on from all the recent hullabaloo you would think Dan Bewley would be registering wins in this company even if it was a track he had never ridden before
  5. As much fun as it would be calling you multiple names its easier to stick you on ignore. Given the amount of non PR happening from us people from Birmingham id say its a blessing that this thread has any interest and isn't confined to page two like it will be for mostbof the season. I chose to be here, i chose who i want to engage with and read content from and i don't deem your input as worth bothering about so please join the elite club of idiots.
  6. Not going to disagree that pay rates across all leagues have got silly but it started at the top and worked down. As for gulf in level there are number 8s of 4 star level who will be CL 2nd strings this year whilst others on the rising star list drop down to NL reserve and lower. No offence to any of them but 1 star rising stars can be hugely different in class to those who they will be lining up against.
  7. Agreed. Two massive gambles on 4.00 averages. Whilst im not particularly convinced by Complins comeback he does have pedigree. Congreve on the other hand is a huge risk and a 6 point something rider in his place would make it a very different looking team.
  8. Crikey! starting on a 4.00 he does actually have a chance of improving his average. I think Newcastle could shock a few a be fairly dominant at home (away likely garbage but home form should see them keep off the bottom)
  9. Hardly worth riders funding their own team kevlars then. However using the RS pay scheme rates of £40 per point, a 4 rider 6 heat formula so 36 points available split in half so 18 points and over 4 meetings 40x18x4 =£2880. Thats a lump of additional cash a season to fork out. Im sure some riders would take to the track for £20per point and some might even do it for free but the gulf in levels would open up pretty quickly and the spectacle could rapidly go downhill.
  10. Could be argued that its relevant due to the unearthing of new talent and offering opportunities to them who might potentially fill team places in the future. I remember the Brummie buzz about the Thompson twins a few years ago and how they were going to be stars wearing the big red B in the near future (every other man and his dog knew they were Leicester bound but...)
  11. Won't happen due to protected race nights. Anybody have the RS ratings of the no.8's? If Hume is a 4 as expected then the remainder of the team will have to be filled with 1 star riders? Also going by this statement all PJL riders will have to be RS eligible....and have registered their interest to participate in the scheme? Sounds like it could be quite a closed and shrinking list which would only add to costs
  12. I would think Belle Vue would take issue with that, or anyone who had attended the Scunthorpe meetings or spoken to various other Cumbrians. Dan may have "burst" onto the scene but he wasn't exactly an unheard of secret.
  13. LR is talking to 6-8 riders and is highly confident that he will be able to release the full Bulls line up shortly....... .....as for Brummies any riders available on Wednesday evenings are invited to attend P&P for the chance to try and gain a team place......
  14. Its great side but im not convinced that Kennett and Barker as a riding pair will work well at all....that said i dont know where else i would stick barker
  15. Have the reductions for Hopwood/Stoneman been confirmed?
  16. The desirables from that list are either opting out of CL or UK altogether. Its not cheap to setup in the UK for Champ only, the better riders are either contractually not available (Poland) , are opting for a lesser schedule to stay fresher or simply want more than Brum can afford. As for the 4 pointers it makes far more sense to offer places to riders like Morley & Crang rather than Ruml & Keleher's on purely financial grounds. If LR has his wish list he should be making his final offers, we can afford X take it or leave it. Pandering and negotiating only further weakens the clubs position.
  17. Neither can i in all honesty. Hypothetically if Brum sign Kildemand for one meeting then sack him (for saying something mean about LR) could they then use guests for the remainder of the season? Terrible operating model i know BUT desperate times and all that
  18. Realistically if the final three riders signed are lower that Morris & Nielsen the team would the 6-7 points under the limit and arguably too understrength to be signed off. 2 x 4ish pointer and a 12 would put the side closer to the limit but that is the battle Brum face right now. If the option to defer 12 months wasn't on the table then i guess pushing ahead was the right thing but it looks like a mammoth task ahead.
  19. Depends if it was paid before or after they went pop. Before money went to the club, after assets taken back by BSPL so Glasgow would have paid the mafia board for Brennans contract.
  20. IF there was anything left from the bond for other outstanding fees/fines to the BSPL.
  21. Im still hoping for a competitive side to be created (as a poor team does nobody any favours) but i do feel a burst of honesty would be refreshing from the club. An announcement of we missed out on a few captures due to confidence in the club and we wont break the bank to sign riders. Our goal is to get through the season and build on foundations.......rather than the spiel that we are still looking to build a play off team blah blah. I genuinely hope that a rabbit or two contacts the club but i do feel if they were even in the wind the rumours would be out and circulating.
  22. Is it just me or are the number of seeds creeping up? Im guessing its one semi final for the final places? have to agree its a strong line up though with everyone in with a podium chance.
  23. The issue could be that alongside a largely unknown quantity at reserve was going ro be James Wright who would be one of the leagues strongest reserves and would have been available to cover rides for any of the 1-5 who are struggling (specifically Complin). Now its an unknown and a returning unknown at reserve which further weakens the makeup of the side.
