Bridger moved to Manchester the day Lakeside rode at Wolverhampton. Might explain his absence!

I'm interested in what meeting you are referring to regarding Collins & Crump in the Golden Helmet. I remember watching the Golden Helmet at Leicester & that was the very first time I had seen a Weslake Engine that Collins was using. Crump won convincingly!

Drove passed the stadium on Thursday, stopped to take a look, nothing what so ever to report. Did look so run down to be honest!
-
Bit like saying then you would rather watch a porn DVD than the real thing!
-
Totally agree, and while on the subject lets not forget the likes of Alan Wilkinson Joe Owen etc etc. I have a real soft spot for Alan especially, if any one needs financial help Alan does.

Bloody hell Steve, I have enough problems working the TV remote & mobile phone!
-
Blimey you make it sound like Zielona Gora are travling to Somerset!

The modern speedway piston is just a slipper, even going back to the 2 valve Jawa never had a oil ring has its a total loss oil system

Yes and very good crowds
-
Agree, you only have to look back to when Cradley Heath moved to Stoke, Cradley fans, arguably one of the most loyal at the time & crowds were very poor

Will be going regularly to Lublin this year to watch Lambert, if you ever fancy it give me PM, your more than welcome, & Lublin is Saturdays. Then its just the mad dash back for Newcastle on the sunday!

You should plan your trips to Poland every Sunday, top line ups, proper racing on proper tracks!

Good post, for me the most memorable meeting was against Edinburgh the backend of the season. Having only watched Dan Bewley ride a handful of times and was always impressed, I was eagerly looking forward to watching him at his first visit to the OTA & boy he did not disappoint. Didn't score that many points, but made BWD look very ordinary in 2 of his rides.

Why not welcome newish members on the Somerset forum, like it says it is a forum! Gavan can get a bit excited at times but can debate
-
Very disappointing results for Holder in OZ, with the equipment at his disposal I expected better from him. Would love to see the likes of Newman & Bewley etc on the engines he has!
-
A very fair and well constructed post, the only one I would say is Batch going on last seasons results is doing better than I expected
-
Cant agree, Gavan would (I hope) have been 110% behind Mark loram in his Poole days

Very cheap beer! -
Take it you wasn't a Ole fan!

Wrong, soldier boy was Leicester through & through in the early 70s. Ray Wilson was his idol. He used to give Olsen a very hard time!
-
Fair play to you
-
Agree & don't forget Jason Doyle used a GR engine at Chris Harris testimonial & won the meeting!
-
While I will agree with your post, but why have so many riders in the past have had issues ? The likes of Craig Cook, Scott Nicholls & even the great late Lee Richardson ?

Regarding your comments on Brady, I agree, having watched Brady week in week out home and away for Somerset I for one was banging on about him just what a talent he was showing. But I honestly IMO he has gone backwards this year, if you ask me for a comparison to say Brady and Lambert at the being of 2016 I would have put Brady in front. Yep I know you are going to say that's because I'm a big Lambert fan! but I honestly feel that Lambert 2 years younger is at another level. I feel the big problem with Brady he can not ride technical tracks. Watching him at Edinburgh for Somerset and last year at Lakeside and Wolves was wow full.

Yep and not so long ago he was in the corner of a Russian at the GP's, how patriotic is that!
