TBF, nobody has ever said Leicesters "track preparation and surface, inner edge, infield, safety fence and airbag panels" are wrong. It's the shape thats wrong!

I got the impression Havvys job was more on the coaching side while Laurence Rogers helped him with the team managing. It's not like as team manager he has to do that much is it? I'd say it's only filling a program in these days but that wouldn't be in the best of taste as Havvy can't do that these days. So what does someone have to do as a team manager? Pick the riders for heat 15 and the off reserve change - leaves Havvy plenty of time to coach the youngsters. He even goes to their PL meetings with them to help out too.

For best track snack bar?

Gary Havelock has been in the Coventry pits for a couple of seasons now.

What this thread does show is that 30 years after both retired/died they STILL get discussed/argued about. And that incident in the World Final is STILL causing controversy. Just can't see people arguing about a single incident form the last 10 years in 30 years time.

So Buxton have signed Shelby Rutherford then. Last time he was over here I watched him a few time and while he clearly had a decent amount of talent he seemed to lack the machinery or the maintenance of that machinery. If he focuses a bit more than he did a few years ago he could be a tidy signing.
-
TBH, he's done nowt special in the 1-5 has he? Failed to break a 5.5 average which makes him one of the worst second strings in the EL the last 2 seasons. The thing with Kyle is he's generally pretty good or pretty naff, he doesn't do a lot in the middle. As a low scoring second string that was coverable but as a now expected high scoring reserve well them bad meetings are going to be jumped on. Just done some analysis, he has lost to tier 1 reserves more than he has beta them in the least 2 season in the EL which proves all my points, 1 he's not that great as a reserve and 2 he's very up and down. If he can fix the consistency issue though, he's obviously got the raw ability to be a very tidy rider at EL level - he's really got to work on his entry into the bends though, he's terrible at it, often turning too soon, having to stop turning and thus missing the corner.

I was brought up not to kill people. In fact it's the number 1 rule I live my life by.
-
Hes probably be given a team place Berwick where the fans will claim that that if he was given decent kit and sponsors he'd be good. But he wouldn't.
-
So Edinburgh couldn't afford Worall and Glasgow couldn't afford Fisher. Seems everything's about even! Good for him, what mugs works for less than they can?!
-
He also saw the effect that Billy Sanders suicide had on his son Dean (Bruce was Deans God son) who commited suicide himself. If anyone has seen/felt the devastating effect of losing parents, family and friends to suicide or unnaturally early deaths it's Bruce - no wonder he feels bitter towards anyone who does what Kenny did.

I agree totally. I think between the points limit and the fact that these days, travelling from Sweden and Poland every week means that riders may as well travel in the UK too has meant there very little loyalty on either side. The riders don't have long careers so I don't blaming them for chasing the money - I would! In fact I have in my own career.
-
Based on what? He's not as good as Auty, Worrall, Kerr, Wright or Newman in the PL which puts him in the bottom half of the tier 1 reserves ahead of only Bates and whoever Lynn sign. I don't see him cleaning up much!
-
So you want a meeting for riders who are not, "an elite sportsperson or qualified coach recognised by your sport’s governing body as internationally established at the highest level" to try and qualify for a work permit that requires that you are, "an elite sportsperson or qualified coach recognised by your sport’s governing body as internationally established at the highest level" I see no issue with that at all and can see the UKVI agreeing to it. Then laughing that everyone who rides in that meeting is clearly not good enough so can shove off!
-
It's hardly discrimination. Anyone from a non-EU country needs a work permit to work in the UK. Lawyer, banker or speedway rider. Frankly the fact we let them into the PL at all they should be thankful as them riding in the PL really doesn't meet the basic criteria for work permits of being the very best etc.
-
Now I disagree. If a rider has an average and Poole sign him I see no complaints because everyone knows that riders average. Where people complain about the averages of riding signing for Poole is the assessed riders, they are the riders who averages are assessed, assessed in the same way grades would be! The worst thing possible is grading, whenever it's used it causes more arguments than a simple points limit EVER does.
-
Poole? Loyalty? Just where is this loyalty? Holder did 5 years, pissed off for a year, Ward did 5 years. Other than that? As for Wolves, Lindgren I'll give you and even Wells at a push, then what? BV have had Cook a while now, sure that's loyalty? Lakeside have Nilsson back for about the 6th year now too. Harris is into season 11 of 13 at Coventry. Clubs and riders are not loyal any more.

Should Roscoe Step Down As Gb Team Manager ?
SCB replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If you're going down that route you've just employed and/or Peter Adams! I'd not have Screen or Havvy there though. If I was going to have a motivator, Dave Norris would be my man -
I don't know what Penhall said but in guessing he pointed out that Carter was a prick for killing himself and his wife leaving his children without their parents. Well he was a prick, I say that as someone who has loved watching Kenny on video but try all you like, you'll not convince me he was anything but the lowest of the low as a person. As for Bruce, typical cheesy American for me. Didn't like him "as a person" from what I've seen on video and read. But as a rider, he could do magic things on a bike. As for the White City incident, numerous riders have done similar. Joe Screen shut off for Mark Loram in Poland to help him win a World title, Martin Dugard "had an EF" to get Havvy a point in the '99 overseas(?) final to allow Havvy to qualify. Hampel shut off in his last ride of the 2002ish U21 final to let a fellow Pole have a point to get him 3rd after Hampel had already won the title. It happens.

Excellent, Frank Smart can get a work permit. Someone get his signed up I look forward to someone offering Doug Scoble a contract too, clearly one of the the very best in the sport to finish 3rd in an Aussie state final

Should Roscoe Step Down As Gb Team Manager ?
SCB replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Rosco has two jobs, they're separate jobs that shouldn't conflict. What he does in each shouldnt make a blind bit of difference really, unless its something really bad. I have far more issue with his inability to arrange some meetings against other international teams than his selection of the Swindon team. Do agree with the above suggestion of having Chris Morton involved though. -
Mads averages 5.95 as a heat leader on a gaters tracks. As a second string on a racers track he'll be capable of 7+
-
But it should be a list of 2016 "heat leaders" but a list of 2015 "heat leaders". Surely you can see Kennett has a bargain average due to being a heat leader?
-
Because Clifton was a 5 point PL rider while Purchase was a 4 point NL rider.
-
Exactly that! And the stupid thing is, we'll have the same problems next year because the idiots running the sport have kept the same format.
