Maybe Peterborough have one signed up already. Just because Havvy snr can't find one doesn't mean they don't exist!
-
Arent they younger than Lewis Kerr?
-
Yes, he was coming back from 18 months off the bike and was inconsistent! Take his EL and his PL average by month that season and you'll see that until July he was inconsistent but plodding in both leagues. From mid-july his consistency shot up and thus his average did in both leagues. There was no anti-Berwick thing about it.

Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..
SCB replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Exactly. If his dad was injured and he needed to go back to him I think we'd all have had a great deal of sympathy. But to have a facility as he was signed off on compassionate grounds only for Dak to remain here, well it stunk then and it stinks now! -
In terms of the draft yes. Kerr is ahead of Newman and Wright, so in effect Poole and Swindon should both be offered Mear now and only if they don't want him should Lakeside get him.

Poland 2016 Season Extraleague News
SCB replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
I read it as an exaggeration, but his point being Hancock already has a load of bikes so it's not like he has to go out and buy all new bikes in March for the new season. -
No. Because your promoter who is now head of the mafia, I mean chairman of the BSPA has gone all secret squirrel and won't tell us anything!

I just don't see Somerset signing BWD. He won't get his average unless he has a brilliant season and Somerset don't sign riders like that.

The whole point of the draft is if you have a better tier 1 rider you have a worse tier 2 rider. Now Lakeside have a better tier 1 rider then their tier 2 rider should be offered to other clubs or it's not a draft. You've just made it a free-for-all.
-
Exactly! God knows who "felt" they should be!
-
Now this is where I was careful with what I wrote. I don't think he'll get 9 over the whole season, but from about July onwards I think he'll average 9. The guy has raced a handful of meeting in 3 years so I fully expect him to take him to settle but I see no reason why he can't be back to his best once he's settled. People make too big a thing out of riders returning from injury and time out, most riders carry on as before. Charlie has done it in the past so don't see why he won't again. Remember when he started at Berwick after a season out and averaged "only" 7 but then averaged 10 for Newport from July onwards? I see something similar happening.
-
So much for a draft Surely Kerr is Lynns and thats how it has to be. By letting him sign for another team you have ruined the concept of a fair draft. Mear should not be offered to all teams whos have a tier 1 rider lower than Kerr was in the draft and if any of them want him then Lakeside can't have him. Do we have an average for Mear yet?

So how about this list. What riders averaged riding as a heat leader in 2015.... 1 Darcy Ward 9.28 2 Jason Doyle 9.13 3 Maciej Janowski 8.86 4 Niels K Iversen 8.86 5 Peter Kildemand 8.40 6 Andreas Jonsson 7.84 7 Matej Zagar 7.60 8 Rory Schlein 7.48 9 Chris Harris 7.29 10 Chris Holder 7.18 11 Craig Cook 7.04 12 Scott Nicholls 6.86 13 Troy Batchelor 6.76 14 Nick Morris 6.57 15 Robert Lambert 6.46 16 Fredrik Lindgren 6.45 17 Hans Andersen 6.42 18 Richard Lawson 6.17 19 Joonas Kylmakorpi 6.04 20 Grzegorz Walasek 5.97 21 Mikkel B Jensen 5.93 22 Edward Kennett 5.92 23 Dakota North 5.74 24 Peter Karlsson 5.68 25 Kenneth Bjerre 5.67 26 Danny King 5.47 27 Davey Watt 5.37 28 Ricky Wells 5.31 29 Grzegorz Zengota 5.26 30 Kim Nilsson 5.11 31 Szymon Wozniak 5.11 32 Vaclav Milik 4.43 33 Tobiasz Musielak 4.34 34 Piotr Swiderski 3.82 35 Josh Grajczonek 3.67 36 Bjarne Pedersen 3.60 37 Jacob Thorssell 3.33 38 Simon Stead 3.20 39 Adrian Miedzinski 1.14

As promised.... What each rider averaged riding as a heat leader in 2015. As you can see, Robert is 11th of those riding in the EL this season. if the BSPA are going to make Danny King a heat leader.... 1 Darcy Ward - 9.28 2 Jason Doyle - 9.13 3 Maciej Janowski - 8.86 4 Niels K Iversen - 8.86 5 Peter Kildemand - 8.40 6 Andreas Jonsson - 7.84 7 Matej Zagar - 7.60 8 Rory Schlein - 7.48 9 Chris Harris - 7.29 10 Chris Holder - 7.18 11 Craig Cook - 7.04 12 Scott Nicholls - 6.86 13 Troy Batchelor - 6.76 14 Nick Morris - 6.57 15 Robert Lambert - 6.46 16 Fredrik Lindgren - 6.45 17 Hans Andersen - 6.42 18 Richard Lawson - 6.17 19 Joonas Kylmakorpi - 6.04 20 Grzegorz Walasek - 5.97 21 Mikkel B Jensen - 5.93 22 Edward Kennett - 5.92 23 Dakota North - 5.74 24 Peter Karlsson - 5.68 25 Kenneth Bjerre - 5.67 26 Danny King - 5.47 27 Davey Watt - 5.37 28 Ricky Wells - 5.31 29 Grzegorz Zengota - 5.26 30 Kim Nilsson - 5.11

I can cope with the arguing/discussing to some extent but it's the patronising comments when he's the one who should be put in his place that make me laugh
-
Mick Horton said Sarj was on the tier 1 list. Bates has a higher PL average so he will have also been on the tier 1 list.
-
No comment on the work thing As for Lambert, I'd make him a second string. I'm playing devils advocate really. But I would be a little perplexed if King is a heat leader and Lambert is not! As any criteria than make Lambert a second string makes King one. At least it's nice to be arguing over how good a 17 year old British rider is, not how bad for once
-
King averaged a lot less than 6 and Kylmakorpi only just over 6, Zengota was about 5.5. So he averaged more as a heat leader than all 3 of them. Nicholls only got 5.9 as a heat leader too and it was his good couple of meeting as a second string and he fact averages are taken from 20 meetings and. It a whole season that left his rolling average higher. So of those you list Morris (possibly), Kildemand, Zagar and Harris averages more riding as heat leaders. Holder, Doyle and Puk did too but you won't find many more. I'll run the stats off when I'm back in work tomorrow of ever riders average as a heat leader and I think you'll be surprised how high up the list Robert is!
-
I'd rather drag Gjedde out of retirement than Alden. Gjedde spent half his EL career as a 7+ rider while Alden hit 6 at one point before being sacked when it dropped back into the 5s. Alden is only ever a 7ish PL rider but Gjedde has generally been an 8.5+ rider. Gjedde has some class, Alden is just ok. I'd fully expect Gjedde to come good, he may start with a few ordinary performances but by the end of the season I bet he's back to being a 9 point man. I wouldn't have been upset if Coventry had signed Gjedde rather than Woryna.
-
They were both tier 1. Any tier 1s not picked become tier 2. As the draft is done on PL average Bates is tier 1 and Sarj tier 2
-
Ah, then and us. FFS. If the EL and the PL can't work together the sport is buggered. We need to work as one collective, not as it currently is about 5 or 6 cliques in the different leagues all pulling in different directions. It might mean a couple of clubs leaving the EL or the PL but we need to work to the strengths. For years he EL pandered to Eastbourne when some of us said they should drop down. All that pandering and helping and where are Eastbourne now?
-
i can't remember the exact position it put him but if you calculate every riders averages at 1,3 and 5 it puts him quite high up. It of curiosity who do you place above him? Because I think you'll be surprised. 6.46 is quite a high average for any position these days and rider who averaged move over all except for the top 5 or 6 had a spell as second string (and Holder who is top 5 or 6 had a spell as second string himself)
-
You can disagree all you like but Mick Horton seems to think Bates is the tier 1 rider
