Yes, because the average should tell you that. What the list should be is anyone who rode as a heat leader has a bargain average due to riding as a heat leader. Now you could sign Harris, Zagar, Morris, North and Karlsson. All 5 rode all meetings as a heat leader (possibly 3 or 4 as second string between them) so have artificially low averages. Where as another team could not sign Zengota, Watt, King, Kylmakorpi and AN Other despite the fact they have only raced 1/5 of the number of meetings as a heat leader and thus have artificially higher averages.
-
The reason Kennetts average is below 6 is because he rode as a heat leader. Thus has a bargin average. If he had rode as a second string he'd have a 7.5 average. Watt was a second string all season. Kennett was a heat leader all season. So why is the heat leader not on the heat leader list but the second string is? It's irrelevant how good they are!
-
If Davey Watt had ridden for any other team and been a heat leader he would have had a low average. So looking at it logically he's already handicapped by having a higher average without the need to be handicapped by making him a heat leader. It's not about opinion, averages are not opinions, they are facts. Team building is fact. The list should be fact based and not opinion or you may as well give every rider an average based no opinion.
-
Where would you host it? It's an expensive way to compare Americans and Aussies and they'd need to do a lot of travelling. For me, if a rider doesn't hit a 7 point average for me that it, no work permit for 2 seasons - don't care what you do in Aus next year, you're not good enough. Then I'd say top 2 Americans and top 10 Aussies in the American and Aussie titles.

Watt is on the list and IMO shouldn't be. So I'm not sure this is a Ford thing. Just a BSPA cock up.
-
As it's a list based on feeling and opinion is terrible. Now if they have some reasonable criteria that sees Buzz sneak in then I may be able to say fair enough but I doubt they have.
-
Exactly. For a list done on "feeling" and "opinion" it's shocking he's been left out of it!
-
TBF they forced the BSPAs hand, on this one they did well!
-
Yes. What position did he ride in last year for Lakeside?

To look after his dad? Maybe his dad is feeling better? -
Kennett, Karlsson and North are still missing
-
So we have a joke event, a closed shop even and one genuine. So 66% of them are not really fair are they?
-
No because 1. The wrong riders no it 2. The points limit is too high What I don't get is that we have a format that has messed up averages so we need a made up list. Yet the BSPA are keeping the format.
-
If you score 9 from 4 every meeting you have a 9 point average, not 6! If you score 4 or 5 from 4 every meeting you have an average between 4 and 5 and thats what Mason has got twice.
-
Now if only all young people were wasting their time on speedway related stuff and that was why they were the poor, as at least the sport would be in a good place then
-
Before stevebrum gets here I'll ask, "has he even seen the list?" This list, do we know if it's a real BSPA list or a list the Speedway Star has tried to come up with through investigation?
-
It's funny, that report could have been lifted from a couple of my posts on here and tweaked to make it more readable Still, starman knows best
-
But if they dumb down the state finals, UKVI will clamp down again and insist on harder qualification criteria. If Campton/Poole can win a state final but go on to fail to average 7 again it's surely indicative of the fact state finals are not representative of a rider ability, thats only bad for Aus speedway in general.

He's on the "list" as he is a previous rider with an average over 6.5

British Tv Rights For Sgp & Swc ?
SCB replied to oleoleole's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I don't believe you are breaking any laws in watching such streams or using such apps. The illegality is in the person hosting the stream for you to watch. But as rmc says, there are lawyers out there who make a fortune arguing over such things. -
Chris alerts averages was NEVER reset. Which I'm sure would have been one of thing the UKV&I highlighted last winter. Good point! Actually, does Ash Morris have a team place?
-
I always thought that until there were no EU riders left out of the job. If you can an employ someone who doesn't need a work permit you have to employ them first. This isn't a speedway specific thing but a work permit thing. Seems mad to me!
-
Because the system is being fiddled when riders are not riding in the meeting to allow others a better chance of finishing top 4.
-
So PK, Kennett and North are not heat leaders but King, Watt and Zengi who rode less meetings as a heat leader and averaged less as heat leader are? Well Done the BSPA
-
Imagine that, people having kids and then having to support them! Shocking!
