Can someone explain to me why this rule WAS illegal but now isn't? Surely it's even more illegal now because Scott and Ed can drop down (as could Woffinden) but Swedes, Danes and the French can't. Surely now Bellego is being victimised for being French and that IS illegal.

IMO it's not big tracks that work well, it's track with long bends where the straights are as far apart as possible. take Somerset and Scunny, they're both about 300m but they have very long sweeping bends so riders don't have to lock up and there no trick to riding the place. Somewhere like Stoke is a similar length but it has very long straights and the bends are very tight. St Austell/Trelawny was only about 230m from memory but it was close to a circle and was very wide so riders scrubbed very little speed off, it rode much more like a big track than a little one. The great thing about the current BV track? sweeping bends, most Polish tracks? Sweeping bends with the straights as far apart as possible. What Bv have done is what every other British club should aspire too. The track is perfect in absolutely every way. Length, width, banking, ratio of bend/straight size. Then there is the stadium around it, perfectly suited for speedway, not too big because any bigger and people would be spread out too much but you fancy if the sport did suddenly start attracting 10-20,000 every week then it could fit them in with some simple adjustments. I was lucky I attended the SWC and the first bank holiday meeting vs Coventry and the atmosphere was great at both. A genuine buzz amongst every before, during and after the meeting. The one complaint I did have about both was the facilities, both times a beer come out of a bucket of water under a table and the queues were horrendous and for the SWC there were just not enough toilets. But I'm willing to accept these as teething problems and I'm sure future big events will be more organised. Didn't someone say that in the first season of the NSS there were only 3 crashes (defined as two riders colliding)? Can't have been many more in 2017 either. Thats an astonishing fact. Eastbourne used to get that by heat 8 whenever they were on Sky or I was there! Enough about Shovvy, what about that video?

Anyone trying to justify this farce has obviously not read the planning application for Brandon that says (and I paraphrase) Brandon is not needed for speedway because the Bees have found a "suitable" new home in Leicester. So while the Bees ride at Leicester Brandon Estates and potentially the planners think we're out of the way and theres no problem. I can't believe a Cradley fans of all fans is telling us we should support this joke of a venture. How has being the gypos of British Speedway at Stoke, Birmingham and Wolves worked for them in finding a new home? Rye House aside when has a club riding meeting at another track ever worked for them? Without them becoming cuckoos and kicking out the original clubs. Nope, doesn't work, never has and won't this time. This will be used as a reason to stop Coventry returning to Brandon, the Bees best chance of staying in Coventry. Because be honest, who thinks the Bees getting a new stadium in Coventry is likely? How many clubs have lost one stadium and managed to find another in less that 20 years? BV did it once, Glasgow and Edinburgh a few times but then what?

And now celebrating the BSPA changing the rules in February, 3 months after the AGM, to allow Scott Nicholls to drop down when Lakeside were told (correctly) he rules didn’t allow Scott or Ed Kennett to drop down. Why do Speedway fans have such little integrity? It’s like the sport being a shambles is what most deserve. They’ll be wondering next week why nobody takes the sport serious.

Scott Nicholls Not Allowed To Ride In The Championship?
SCB replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So “home grown” is ok but “average over 6” isn’t? -
Except it does make sense or the second division will end up with a load of first division riders and increase costs. It is as fair as the points limit because it applies to all teams and all riders. It is applied to everyone. Name a rider with a Premiership average over 6 that has been allowed to drop down?
-
How does Scott Nicholls not being allowed to drop down not them three things?
-
Explain the difference. BSPA reject Peterborough’s teams that’s illegal. BSPA reject Lakesides team.
-
Also, what’s to stop any club with 10 points left for 2 riders offering contexts to two 10 point riders and being 10 points over the limit? If the BSPA reject it then it’s restraint of trade. In fact if I was Max Clegg I’d be taking the BSPA to court for restraint of trade. Lakeside were happy to employ him but the BSPA have rejected it. That’s not fair is it?

Why isn’t “home grown” riders illegal? Has restraint of trade based on a “protected characteristic” of the 2010 Equalities Act. Interesting a “rider with an average over 6” is not a protected characteristic -

Isn’t there a glaring contradiction in your post? Points limit only illegal if it’s different from different teams but some riders can double up but not others? -

That’s good. End of the asset system and the points limit in the next 12 months then? Lead by Ged and Scott in their quest for fairness, obviously. Out of curiosity, can Jason Doyle double up now? Or Tai Woffinden? Or Greg Hancock? -

The only reason the points limit hasn’t been found illegal is because nobody has taken it to court yet. But having seen this example you really don’t think someone will? Also is this a first, Tsunami not siding with the BSPA?! -

So if Poole have 6.00 left and they want to sign Ncott Sicholls who’s average is 6.8 how is it any different? They have an arbitrary 6 points left and so can’t fit in a 6.8 rider. -

Every rider who’s average is over 6 and doesn’t have a Championship can’t drop down. It’s no different. This is a can of worms. Next year when Poole want to sign a rider over the points limit and that riders gets Scott Nicholls solicitor on th case I trust all Peterborough fans will back the move. -

So the BSPA/SCB have decided a riders average can not prevent him riding for a lower league team. What’s to stop a team building to 50 or 60 points now then? -
I swear all promoters have to do is multiply a riders one heat average by 5 and not 4 and suddenly speedway fans of yesteryear will think todays riders are better and more amazing. It will fix everything. Little Johnny can't wait to see Jason Doyle now he's an 11.8 rider and not a 9.5 rider. I'm only amazed more people didnt attend in the first few meeting last season when we had a 50 point limit and we had a few riders on 11+ averages! WOW, glory days indeed, March 2017! Look at the averages and tell me I'm wrong!

As I said, it doesn't work as simply as when you work in an office and have plenty of time. Imagine at 12.30 you have an issue with the lining up of a graphic, you ask for the graphic guy but he's just gone for his lunch. So you wait an hour for him to return, then he gets back at 1.30 but the cameraman whos camera you need to line up for the graphics has now gone for his lunch. 2.15 comes and he's back, yay but now the vision mixer has gone for her lunch so you now have to wait until 3pm for her to come back to fix the issue. The problem you had at 12.30 still isn't fixed until 3pm but had they all been sat at their desk eating a site supplied meal then that probably would have been fixed by 12.45. Its not like most jobs where you ring the client and say, "sorry, everything is delayed a few hours, the project will be with you tomorrow instead", TV is happening at whatever time you're going to air. When it comes to live TV you can cut all the corners you like but it will tell, very easily and very quickly!

£30 a head for two meals plus snacks? It’s hardly expensive is it? If you took everyone to the local pub for a meal it’d probably cost more. Don’t forget that the crew won’t all turn up at 7.30! They’ll have been there all day setting up. I work every two months on an off-site broadcast for BBC Wales (very question time-ish) and the crew are there form anything between 8-10am for a 10pm record time. I don’t think providing two meals, snacks and all the tea/coffee we can drink is bad going for £30 a person!
-
It’s quite simple, if you have 30-odd people in attendance working for you then you don’t want them all buggering off off-site for an hours lunch. Any problems and you’re waiting for the tech guy, or the director, of the camera man, or the graphics operator etc to come back for lunch. Provide a decent lunch for them on site and they’re all around if something goes wrong.

Who Finishes Where 2018
SCB replied to phillipsr's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Correct, 2010 Bomber was flying in the second half of the season and actually finished on the podium 4 times that season, 3 seconds and a 3rd. -

Looking at them odds, Emil looks good value. Im sure if you took the riders scores from the 20 heats he would have been right up there in 2017. Just need a few decent semis and he'll be a genuine contender. -

Exactly, how many riders would kill to have Bombers record? We love knocking a Brit, Andy Smith used to be mocked for his GP record, a record that saw him qualify year after year. Makes Bomber and Andy better than most will ever be. -
Maybe you should take some of the propagnada thrown about by riders and clubs with a pinch of salt and realise they're talking crap to make mugs who'll believe them feel sorry for them.

Tesla are very good at giving real World figure, so there 300 miles can be trusted. If anything they undersell and over deliver. As for taxis, they spend a lot of time sat around waiting, so they can be charged continually throughout the day. The London Taxi Company recently released an electric version and I've been in a few London Ubers that are electric vehicles. As a petrol head I was very weary of electric vehicles a few years ago but they're stupidly clever bits of kit that I'm fairly certainly will save people a fortune in a few years time (maintenance is nothing compared to internal combustion engines) and is going to be a pretty good thing.
