TBF if they really were after Bees fans they wouldn't bother with that twit Hans.

Maybe it was great to be at. But to watch it on Youtube/video/DVD and it's rubbish. Maybe it worked because it was promoted and presented well and people were actually fooled bt this into thinking the speedway was good? Maybe promoters these days need to replicate that. If I was to show someone a video of great speedway I wouldn't pick the 1981 World Final, not by a long way.
-
They're every 20 years, you on the other hand have conveniently picked years at random
-
It was rubbish, I've said as much before and got stick for it. Most GPs are better.
-
Maybe, just maybe this is a route speedway should go down? More betting on races at the track.

What you have done there to prove social media is not an echo chamber is describe it as an echo chamber

Good luck with that, what with being an Aussie and all that. He can work quite freely in Australia.

If he’s not working here he doesn’t need a visa does he?
-
Except this fails at the first hurdle because they’ve blocked more fans than they’ve ever interacted with.

What does in contradict? You could argue it's unfair. I'd argue it's stupid that if you ride Championship and Premiership and get a Premiership average over 6 its unfair you can double up/drop down but a rider who only rode Premiership and averaged 6.01 can't but it's not contradictory.

The very fact that people people harp on about complex rules and contradictions but are never able to list any says it all. It's a lie, a myth, a red herring. What is an issue is the wilful ignorance of the rules by the powers that be and the way any rule can be ignored if someone with enough power doesn't like it. Or the fact that some teams have signed riders on an old average from 2018 while others have signed riders on a converted average from another league thats more recent but nobody in power is explaining why. Maybe if the BSPA twitter had not blocked so many people we could ask them, but then asking them questions is a blockable offence it would seem!

It amazing the amount of commercial property that council have been buying in recent years. It's a scandal but nobody seems to care. The government should be looking at what any local council spends on commercial property and taking twice that figure form next years budget, 1 lots because they clearly don't need it and a second lot because they still have last years to spend (albeit they not have to sell the property). Local councils should not be investing anything in no public projects. Mind you, lets not forget most of them lost a fortune when Icelandic banks went bust.

Which he only rode in if he'd done well in his programmed rides because he had Lindgren, Masters and Schlein in the team to take away the pressure. There will be no hiding when he#s at number 1.

6th in the away averages where he rode in heat 14 and probably got 3 points vs riding in heat 13 and getting 0.

SGB Premiership Confirmed signings 2018.
SCB replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I've been thinking about this. Lakeside were told no Kennett/Nicholls, maybe the sweetner was they could have Morley and Zach on their old averages? -
While in theory I agree with you, I think Thorsell is so good at home it'll make zero difference there. Where the heat 14/13 difference will tell is away from home where a dodgy meeting from him is still too likely. If you're looking at "long term prospects" I suggest you stop looking at both Ashley Morris and Max Clegg. Neither have "it" and neither will amount to much more than they are now any time soon. They might both make it to Championship heat leader level but that could be years from now. They're "OK" riders to have as your number 7 but thats about it really.

SGB Premiership Confirmed signings 2018.
SCB replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Should be 2.56 (Championship 3.33 / 1.3) Ash Morris for Wolves is 3.75 - which pretty much confirms that Sarj will be 2.56 -
The issue is that referees have gone power mad and decided that there is no way some riders can be as good as they are so when they do make a start they call it back, unfairly. How much of a kick in the balls do you think it is for Sarj every time he makes a start to have it called back. It’s not as if he’s rolling. If the referees are that good at telling Sarj has jumped get them in a bike instead because their reactions are immense.
-
No, because the rules are clear, touch the tapes and you're out. This is back to how things were until about 3 or 4 years ago when referees went bonkers!
-
Don't touch the tapes, the start doesn't get called back.
-
Sarj will be about 2.6. So at best they could have saved 0.6 of a point and there is not a single 2 pointer who is as good as Sarj, especially now they have changed the start regs. Think of all them races where Sarj gates first and it gets called back and he then runs a last, now make them 2 or 3 points for him and suddenly you have a 5-6 point rider.

Tai Woffy filming on tv Dec 18th Clare Balding show
SCB replied to Badge's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
He always does on TV and most of the time in the printed press. If he could stop acting like a petulant little twit on twitter he'd have the whole PR thing covered and I'm sure would be well liked. -
Money is not currently (and I'm not sure it ever will be) an issue. Land and planning permission is.
-
Right, so the problem with the rules in 2017/2018 is stuff that happened in the 1970s and 1980s? FFS!
-
You're right. 90% of the rulebook is about technical stuff that will NEVER bother the fans. You're wrong in the number of meetings that are held up due to protests due to tyres, carbs and engines. I become a regular attendee in 1997 (having been an ad-hoc fans since my birth in 1984) and honestly cannot think of a single time a meeting has been held up due to issues over tyres, carbs or silencers (or similar). The ONLY time I can remember was Poole on a SKy meeting protesting about Jesper B Monberg (of Peterborough?) carb in about 2005, the only other one I can think of and it was on TV, nor was I there, was Kings Lynn in about 2003 having Andy Moores engine checked, which it was, coming back as 498cc so Sheffield putting Andys name in the programme for the home meeting the week after as "Andy '498cc' Moore". They're so rare these protests I remember two of them from 15ish years ago! The actual rules the fans care about - guests, r/r, averages, reserves, points limits cover about 6 pages and as long as you're not mentally deficient I don't think most of them are that bad. There a couple that are a bit dodgy. The Doyle visa thing was just pointing out how "facts" about rules become "fact" when they're nothing of the sort. Fans make things up all the time and people fall for it. Anyway, back to the point, you said, and I quote, "there are far too many rules, many of which contradict one another" so give us an example, go on, just one example of a contradiction. Until you do I'll call you out as a bullrubbishter. Because you know what, I could quote MANY examples of that. Remember environmentally controlled stored shale that turned out to be pilled up and covered in a plastic sheet on Newport docks?
