  1. Whats wrong with a lower points limit? 42ish? How to share out the top riders? Well all grading does is say you can only have one grade 5 or 6 rider, so why not just say only one rider with an average over 8.50? Points work better than grades with one exception, the minimum average is 4.50!
  2. So after the GP's all the rider used to nip around to the local KFC for a bargin bucket each and had a can of coke(or was it a crate of 24 cokes), then they went out and splashed some cash (or is that credit card, thanks to Egg and American Express(blink and you miss there logo, I have) all whilst driving around in the JCB's or is that Fiat's? Then they go home and feed there chicken some LNB chicken feed. Incidently, William F1 only have (or at least had) ONE (1) sponsor that didn't give them products (Compaq provided all the teams computers, they were sponsored by oil and ful companies who provided all the oil and fuel etc) the ONE (1) exception was the brewery that produces Budweiser, I can't think why they didn't provide any of there product
  3. I'd love to see Richie Hawkins get the chance of a ride but not at the expense of someone else though injury or some other misfortune (thats a contradiction really ) Unless Richie gets to ride, I hope Mads does well.
  4. So BSI taking 24 riders (down to 16 next year) minus the 2 or 3 who don't ride in the UK is 21 (13 next year) for between 6 and 16 days a year (rider only have to turn up for the GP's these days and have not got to ride in practice) is "very disruptive"? Yet Sweden and Poland taking rider for 20(ish ?) days a year is ok? Using the riders without paying for them? Again, BSI are not allowed to do it for a World Championship without people monaing yet Sweden, Denmark, Poland and Germany can take whoever they like for 20(ish ?) meetings a year that in some cases might mean very little (compared to a World Championship). I wish people woudl think before they actuse the GP's of being restrictive and stealing riders, they do it no more than the Polish, Swedeish, Danish, Czech and Germna leagues, yet do people moan about them? No!!! Also did people moan when rider used to have to go through all the qualifying rounds years ago? That was a few extra days when rider were taken awya but that was ok, the new format is not IMO, if BSI are having problems it's more bad than good for us, the speedway fans but it might be good for the promoters, who as Kevin Meynell has said numerous times, can run the GP's themselves.
  5. Prehaps Mr Zagar and his pit crew need to learn if he is going to play with the big boys they won't let him have things quite as easy as they do in the Premier League. He'll soon learn that the only way to get on is to be equally as hard.
  6. Assuming the top 8 remains the top 8, thats Crump, TR, Hacock, Adams, Pedersen(Nicki), Jonsson, Gollob, Pedersen(Bjarne), I would go with (ignoring politics and number of Swedes, Danes, Brits etc...... Hans Andersen (you can't leave out a GP winner, what ever I think of him) Lee Richardson (He shows glimpses, but he really could do with final in one of the next 2 GP's to prove it) Scott Nicholls (ditto Lee, also not helped by injury) Ryan Sullivan (He's had an aweful season but he has to be in the SP's, surely?)[/b] Jarek Hampel (He has shown at times how brilliant he is and at 23(?) he is only going to get better, like AJ has done in recent years) Other to consider, Mark Loram (WC in 2000 but you can't relly on that too much and he doesn't deserve a place on this years GP results) Niels Kristian Iversen (He seems to know how to raise his game for the GP's and SWC, is young and exciting, prety much everything BSI and the fans(I'd imagine) want from a GP rider) Kenneth Bjerre (ditto Puk) Matej Zagar (ditto Puk and BK) David Norris (Finally realised how good he is and what eh can do if he wants to, I'm sure he'd not be out of contention for GP finals if he was given a chance.
  7. There's always next time. TBH, you didn't do too bad.
  8. Just because he is younger doesn't make his past it!!
  9. Thanks to speedwaybet.com, as long as Andersen didn't win I was going to make money from the final. I'd have made more had AJ, shame. Jill, I owe you a drink, you made me a couple of pound with your tip on Greg, that said, you have cost me a few pound aswell with your dodgy tips! Greg has own me quite a bit of money this year Ryan who? (eh Jill?)
  10. Good to see Tony back up there. Well Doen Tony!
  11. Thats still a farce. A rider comming 2nd bget as many points as the rider comming 1st, how and why?
  12. Fair points Star Fever and I guess what ever happens what you say is right. However, with regard to the young reserve, where as before in heat 8 a heatleader would come out and win it and the reserve scored say 1+1 he now comes out against an easier rider and beat hims and scores 2+1 which keeps his average lower and FAIRER. The home number 7 rides against the number 7 3 times, the number 6 twice the number 5,3 and 2 once each where as the number 1 comes out against the numuber 1 twice, the number 2 twice, the number 2,3,4 and 6 once each. Who has the easier rides? The number 7, so he finds it easier to get a higher average. Throw in a tac sub and the number 7 still gets the easier rides! So where as there used to be bias to artificaly increase the number 7 averages, it's now even more noticeable and riasing the lower order riders averages (not meeting heatleaders as often) and so leaves them without a team place the year after, after all, who's going to want Paul Lee on a near 7 point average when you can have Oavel Ondrasik on 5.5 and he has had the harder heat 1 and 13 to contend with? If EVERY rider rode against EVERY other rider and even number of times it might work, but tno the way the current meeting format is.
  13. OOooooooOOOOHHHHHH, I liked Wato, until I saw that! Very clever, get Wato there and hope to drag along a few Newport fans Looks like a VERY good line up so far.
  14. Why have 3 teams? Speedway is a 2 team event, or a 4TT. 3TT are crap and don't work well as the one team can team ride the other 2 out but the two teams with only one rider each are hardly likely to team ride, so it's a joke.
  15. It seems both countries would love the chance to watch there on countries riding in an international meeting so why don't the promoters get together and arrange a Wales vs Scotland series? If the two Scotish and Welsh teams were to arrange a series would people attend? Phil Morris Tony Atkin Glenn Cuningham Tom Brown Jamie Westacott Darren Hatton Darren Pugh Nick Mallett vs James Grieves Ross Brady Kevin Little Blair Scott Derek Sneddon David McAllan William Lawson Barry Campbell/Sean Stoddart 8 riders each? YES, use the proper test match format then!
  16. Would seem for once that speedway had sorted this problem out (at least how the officials see fit) within hours of the meeting, not weeks or month later.
  17. Well he's been Australian in the past so why not change again
  18. Hmmm, or could it be we can apreciate good riding when it happens so as well as slagging off and moaning about the bad we also praise and congratulate the good? Try it sometime!
  19. AFAIK, Crump, Adams and one other GP rider so far.
  20. But "Tim Cymru" has an even better sound you <insert your own word >, we're Welsh there for our National team will have a Welsh name!
  21. Freddie Williams? One of only two British riders to win 2 World Championships! Prehaps had the war not been on Freddie may well have won more! Freddie is arguably, Great Britains best ever rider. Not knowing who Freddie and Ken McKinlay are just proves how ignorant you are and how much notice we really should take of you!
