Redcar Half Team V Glasgow Strong Team

Wrong!!! the fence was fixed at 9.40pm and if it was not for the medic with having to stay with Coty (and the NHS medic's not arriving till 10.05pm) we cold have got at least 4 or 5 heats in before 10pm. The rules says "if the result is mathematically sure" not "if the result at heat 10 is mathematically sure". This is not the correct decision. -

Dont think the meeting video is available yet. However if you go to the official Bears Web site there is a series of excellent photos by the track photographer, Colin Poole, that show the whole accident in great detail. -

Erskine to Glasgow is only 15 miles.Like I said you cannot get much closer. He may get nick named The Great Monarch but he is not from the Edinburgh area he is from the Glasgow area. Should not be refereeing Glasgow meetings home or away. Would not happen in other sports. I am also informed he is the referee coordinator so probably appointed himself -

I am reliable informed that he is from Erskine which is part of the Greater Glasgow area near Clydebank so you cannot get much closer -

Sorry Paulco but you are wrong some people on here are saying that last nights result should be declared even though only 9 heats were finished. Yes I am a Bears fan but do not brush off what I have said by saying it is because of that. I am disputing heat one when Jason did not touch he tapes. There was plenty of movement on the line last night and Jason got caught in every one of his races as well as one Glasgow rider was also. Were you there? if you were you will know that the 2 man referee team had a nightmare not just my feelings as you put it. Dont need Bears googles to see what actually happend. -

Hear what you say but many English clubs have an issue with this particular referee. Do you have a problem with any particular English referees. After last nights performance and the obvious incorrect decisions maybe the issue is should he be refereeing at all. -

How many things from last night do you want me to list. I will give you what I feel are the main two. 1)The referee has them best view of the start so why was Jason Garrity adjudged to have touched the tapes in heat one (and put him straight onto 15mtrs) when video evidence has now proved he did not touch the tapes. 2) Why was Coty Garcia going to be excluded from the heat 10 rerun when almost every one in the stadium (including some Tigers fans I spoke to) could see that it was Richard Lawson who drifted wide and lost some control and took out Coty. I have every respect for Richard as a rider but he was obviously at fault this time. As photographic evidence shows. -

As I said above its not about common sense the rules say you have to have 10 completed heats to declare a result. If we apply your logic then you could say after say heat 7 or 8 if a meeting is called off and one team is so far ahead it could not be caught by heat ten then that team should be declared as the winners. The opposing team would NO we could catch them by heat 15. 10 completed heats is the rule and it must apply or Speedway will become more ridiculed if rules are bent to suit a particular team or situation. -

OK may not actually be from Glasgow but why should any Scottish referee referee meetings where Scottish clubs are involved especially as he is known to be cotroverial.Only 2 Scottish clubs so plenty of other meetings to keep him busy. Was actually told by a Tigers fan last night the he attends Glasgow social nights and even got up at one of them to accept an award on behalf of an ex rider who could not attend (did tell me but cannot remember the ex riders name). Sounds like THE GRAND MONARCH is quite close to The Tigers camp as well. -

15th June is a Thursday not 16th & Glasgow have been offered that. We will be without Ellis Perks again as he will be riding for Rye House that night (so not tying to take advantage of the situation). Grasping at straws if you think a result should be declared because heat ten "would have been" a 5- 0. Both rider could have broken down and it could be a 0-0. Could say that we did not need heat 10 at all as even if the rolls had been reversed and The Bears had been on a 5-0 they would have still been beaten in 10 heats. If heat 10 has to be claimed as a 5-0 then we will claim we could have won the rest off the heats. The rules say you have to have 10 completed heats to declare a result. The referee (even though from Glasgow) did not declare a result on the night so that should stand. Hang on this is Speedway and the management committee have been known to change or reinterpret the rules mid way through the season in the past (dependant on who is in favour at the time). -

Hear what you say but if you look at the photos in quick succession it almost like a movie with Richard out of control and Coty looking very much in control until the contact. -

Just been posted on The Bears Official web site several photos of the crash from Club Photographer Colin Poole that show (as we all saw on the first bend) That Richard lost control of his bike as he tried to go under Coty, with his back wheel going out and catching Cotys bike. Richard was 100% responsible for the crash. Why was Coty excluded? What the 2 referees were looking at beggars belief. Along with the video evidence of Jason not touching the tapes in heat one it make you wonder about these 2 Refs ability to do that job. -
Can never understand why you have to wait a week before you can use the new average when they can calculate it immediately after the meeting. It is actually 8 days as you cannot use it for your next home meeting. e.g. Ellis Perks new average is calculated as at last Thursday. 4 x H & 4 x A. But Redcar cannot use it tomorrow for a guest as it does not kick in till Friday apparently.
-
With Matt Williamson in for Danny Ayres I think it brings the meeting back within reach for the Bears. Could well be our secret weapon as he was for Workington when they rode against us and he scored a paid 11 two weeks ago & they won.
-
Redcar have now come to agreement with Richard that he will do his last meeting on Thursday (which makes sense all round). It will also mean that he will then have done 4 home and 4 away meetings so his new lower 2017 average will kick and maybe help him when looking for a new team.
-
Not bad but I think we can do even better than that. A bit to much middle order and not enough top end in that line up.
-
With 4 of the team being in attendance on the night.
-
Redcar like many other clubs lost their licence a couple of seasons back when the Boarder Agency decided to have a crack down on Speedway. However you only lose that for a period of time and Redcar are allowed to apply again for next season. Think they along with the many other clubs who lost theirs have learnt the lesson.
-
Dont think sponsors licences cost very much. However looking at the teams that are being put together on here don't think we will need one.
-
Brian Havelock would have been able to apply for a sponsors licence this coming season, if he had stayed on so I assume would the new promoter( when he is announced).
-
Could double up if they did. Busch, Branford, Lunna & Payne.
-
Agree need a stronger No 6 than Etheridge
-
Everyone keeps putting Hugh in their Bears team but it would not surprise me if he is not back next season.
-
Jittendra was very upbeat with the 6 he says he has already signed so I am quite hopeful. Just needs the last one to finish the jigsaw.
-
T J would be a better No 1 and on about the same average as Ljung.
