Think you may be correct with 4 maybe 5 of the 7. Was hoping that Davis Bellego would return as with him and TJ in the team we would have the basis of a good top end.
-
Its 4 and its says so in the Speedway Star this week. Was 5 last season. Yes some riders come in on a higher average if they have high averages in Poland Sweden and Denmark.. Plus your average is established after 4 home and 4 away meetings. You then build it up over 26 meetings. Then the oldest meeting drops off and the latest meeting is added in to the calculation. Very much doubt he will end up at Redcar.

Jitendra Duffil has confirmed on Bears Talk that if Tobias comes back to ride in the U K he will be on a 4.66 average. Dont know what the BSPA are doing with the latest averages published this week. They state that all foreign riders competing in both leagues must have a minimum 4 average yet they are showing loads of foreign riders on an effective 3 average Jacob Bukhave and Jye Etheridge to quote 2.
-
Busch is a 4.66 Minimum foreign rider is now 4 and he finished last season on 4.66. Lee Payne 2.68. N L British riders can only start on 2.00 if the do not have an average and he finished last season on 2.66.
-
Jitendra quotes he has verbal agreement with 5 riders would not think he will announce anything till they have put pen to paper. Even then it is sometimes best not to announce anything till the whole 7 are in place i.e. one prospect drops out and you may have to change some of the others to make things fit. Plus as quoted in The Gazette a Christmas social night early December where they hope to announce the new promoter & and the majority of the team. So don't expect any announcements at the race night on 17th. However it is good we have been informed that things are happening behind the scenes even though we cannot be told the details yet.

Think Skidmore may have a European parent or grandparent (but maybe not British) that is maybe how, while we are still in the EU, he did not need a visa. Not 100% sure.

Need 2 British riders
-
Not according to the new averages on the BSPA site today (he is 4.66). They even have Jacob Bukhave on a 3 point average if anyone wants to take a chance on him again.
-
Plus Tobias Busch should be a cert as well on 4.66. That could sort the middle order out. Then we would need 2 above them say Davis Bellego (again) on 7.63 and Thomas Jorgensen on 7.45 (as he always goes well on our track and we have talked about trying to get him for ages). That would take us to 32.88 and just the reserves to fit in. Ideally Rob Branford at No 6 on 4.6 would be great (if he would come back, after all he is our asset). That would leave 2.52 for a No 7 and I understand you can go down to 2 points for a N L rider without a P L average. I now understand from Havvys comment in The Gazette yesterday that you have to have 2 British riders in each team this year which would be the No 7 and Rob Branford in that case. Just shows how tight team building will be with only 40 points to play with.

Yes that's what I thought and is why I put "reported as being 76". Which he has been in both the Speedway Star and Evening Gazette on Teesside and Brian does not seem to have disputed that. Not disputing anything you say (that's your opinion) except you seemed to have got the brothers the wrong way round in terms of age.
-
Love them or hate them. Why do you think they had to sell out to Ged if they do not want to. Plus Brian Gladders is the youngest at 74 and I do not remember him ever insulting anyone. Eric is the older one and he is older than Havvy who is reported as being 76 in the recent press articles.

Redcar Vs Ipswich Thursday 25th August

Local Met Office on Teesside says we could have some heavy rain showers tomorrow. However it could be on and off during the day and much of it may well miss us. So its fingers crossed and no certainty at all. -

Since their team changes The Bears now have a strong top 5. Ipswich will need to win it at reserve if they are to get anything out of this meeting. -
After impressing in the recent Julie Lewis Memorial meeting Redcar have signed Jye Etheridge to replace Simon Neilsen (who says he is taking a rest from British Speedway & continue riding in Denmark)

Who Will The Replacement Be For Bukhave At Redcar.
slyfox replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well Tobias Bush seems to have made a reasonable start with a 5+2 in both of his first 2 meetings. From what I have seen I think he will improve on that from here on. Is certainly more than twice the scores we were getting from Jacob. Can anyone explain why Bukhave's average is showing as dropping to 3 on the BSPA stats from 1st July. When the rules clearly state that a rider who comes in on an assessed average cannot drop below 5 for the whole season -

I do not post on here as part of my position (would not call it a job it is more a labour of love). I post on here as a fan, like 99% of people on here i use a pseudonym as you put it. I would not have even said who I was if someone has not accused me of ass licking management. Why should I have to disclose who I am when there may be many people I know post on here under an assumed name & I do not know who they are. Works both ways. -

Love your way with words. Didn't think my title was ass licker. As I am the Bears Marketing Manager, would not think I am licking up to any of the rest of the management team. Was just standing up for my team after your strong comments about our chances for the 2 meetings. -

Bears have a few riders that go well at Sheffield and with a new No 2 Tobias Busch in their line up could give a surprise. -
The BSPA need to be consistent. If the NL is for up and coming riders then they need to stick to that and not allow all the older riders mentioned above, plus Ben Wilson who has not been mentioned . As they do allow this to happen, then they should not hold Richard to a 12 year old N L average which is not relevant now & let him use a P L converted average which is relevant and has been used by many other riders who have dropped down recently.
-
Dont forget Tai. All is not lost. Great meeting but you are right it was difficult to judge the level these guys are at. However I think we have to go with the Danny King and "the youth squad" for the WTC as it is at the same track.

Who Will The Replacement Be For Bukhave At Redcar.
slyfox replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If you mean Busch then he averaged over 4 when he was just a rookie riding for Edinburgh back in 2010 and by all accounts has come on a lot since then -

Think that's an independent stats site, they quote 3.88 is his NBCMA average they also quote his CMA as 4.75 for 7 meetings, not sure exactly what the initials mean, I can only assume it means with and without bonus points. However up to 26th May on "Bears Talk" Boothers the Bears statistician has him as 4.87 with bonus points and 4.00 without bonus points. As bonus points count when the BSPA/SCB calculate a riders average you should use the higher figure when looking at riders for comparison. Therefore on that basis he has moved up from the end of last season at 4.38 ( BSPA/SCB with bonus points) to 4.75 for 7 matches this season (with bonus points if you use your speedway stats site). Which is also above his rolling BSPA/SCB average of 4.53 to 1st June. Therefore I think he is having a better start to the season than he finished last season. -
Who Will The Replacement Be For Bukhave At Redcar.
slyfox replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Confirmed in The Middlesbrough Gazette this morning that Bukhave is leaving after tonight's meeting against Somerset. Brian and Jiittendra both thank him for his efforts but unfortunately he has not lived up to his 7 point average. His replacement not named yet.
