  1. Weather is not looking good. Six miles north of Ipswich and it’s been lashing down for the past 20 minutes. Hopefully, it’s missed Foxhall.
  2. He rode at Ipswich on the 28th June but he wasn’t fit to ride. He was in so much pain that he couldn’t turn the bike!
  3. Green Sheet 5 published on 1st June and Green Sheet 6 published on 3rd June still showed his average as 7.59?
  4. I have never been versed in the dark arts of averages. My reading of the above is: Cook’s starting average for the season was 7.59. He subsequently rode twice for Kings Lynn scoring 11 from 5 and 2 from 4 which I calculate to be a four ride average of 5.4. He then guested for us scoring 4 from 4. I make that a seasons average to date of 4.93. How does this increase his average to 7.82 in Green Sheet 7 published on 8th June? If these are rolling averages then he must have had some rank awful scores dropping off.
  5. Sad to see injuries so early in the season, so best wishes to both Crump and Stewart. I would expect Nicholls to pretty much par what Crump would have scored but I can see r/r being positive to what Stewart would have scored. r/r for Bridger looks about par to me. Hopefully a safe meeting and no injuries for all 12 on duty.
  6. Drove past earlier this morning and it looks to be closed.
  7. Just purchased my initial batch of tickets but if there was an option to also buy a programme then I couldn’t find it.
  8. If I can watch an outdoor arts performance whilst socially distanced (Glyndebourne) then surely I can watch speedway.
  9. Surely, that’s the green light for speedway from 11th July. If I can sit outside watching an arts performance then I can watch speedway whilst socially distanced. Is Crump on his way?
  10. I was there with my dad. Although I was young, I do have a vague recollection of the Davey incident.
  11. Based on Louis' latest comments, it's hard to see how it's anyone other than Chris Holder. Only a couple of weeks to find out.......
  12. Welcome Danny. If the remaining two are Holder and Covatti, then it should be an entertaining team which should be hard to beat at Foxhall. I still have my concerns away from Foxhall but I thought that last season and was happy to be proved wrong in the main.
  13. If that ends up being the line up then the challenge from Louis to Allen and Heeps has to be 'take King's third heat leader spot away from him'.
  14. It's going to be interesting.... A team with both Allen and Heeps in the main body would worry me especially away from home, but then again they may both push on even more and become quasi third heat leaders.
  15. If the weather forecast for the next couple of days is anywhere near correct, then it's difficult to see how they will even be able to prepare the track let alone race on it.
  16. I think you are missing the point that is being made. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any team choosing to celebrate however they want to. Psychology is an important element of sport and you have to accept that if you choose to celebrate at half time then the opposition manager will use it as a motivational technique.
  17. It's always difficult to estimate the size of the crowd at Foxhall because the capacity is in excess of 10000. Having said that, I thought the crowd was about average for the season and definitely below the first Kings Lynn meeting but tv coverage is always going to reduce the attendance. If you look over the two legs, it effectively proves that the Pirates 'better riders' can only actually ride a slick dryish track. They couldn't handle the conditions in the first half of the home meeting and it was obvious that Kurtz and Holder didn't fancy it from the start last night. They only performed when the track started to dry in the second half of the home meeting and after the suspiciously long track grading opportunity provided by the air fence fiasco. Holder has a history of spitting the dummy at Foxhall when presented with anything other than a slick gaters paradise. If you have a team of riders who prefer a more challenging track then what is wrong with producing one that suits them? Why is that any different to Poole preparing a slick track to suit their boys strengths? As others have said, Louis has spent a lot of time, effort and money over the past few years trying to create a better racing track at Foxhall. I hope it rains heavily the week of 7th October as I am in Paris all week and would really appreciate events being delayed by a week. The best team over two legs in the conditions won.
  18. It’s certainly not a slick track. Looks like we have finally prepared something that suits our guys.
  19. I don't get the stick that Hawkins is getting. A clear and sensible decision to give all the riders as much track time as possible in case we are back at Poole next Monday. The track was really poor.
  20. I am going for a narrow home win. NKI has had his home sighting meeting and I am hopeful (I know Baldy will say without foundation) that we get a track with some outside grip which will help those in the Witches line up who are often tardy out of the gate. if it’s a slick gater’s paradise then I fear for us.
  21. The top three are looking very closely matched, so if they stay injury free the play offs could be good.
  22. Another point away from home, what's there not to like? Don't get sucked in by Shovlar's taunting.
  23. Another great two points on the road. Whatever else happens over the rest of the season my expectations have been well and truly exceeded. A good bunch of honest riders who really seem to have gelled as a team.
