  1. Really enjoyed last night but thought the 2 tape exclusions and falls and Kyle's puncture was going to cost us. Hope Connor and Claus and there bikes are OK. Did Claus suffer bike failure which caused the fall. He didn't look the same in his other rides so wonder if he was on a spare bike or carrying a injury. And what can you say about cookie. Harris and Schlein did everything to beat him but his overtakes were something else. So 3 points and 3rd in the league despite only having 3 matches. Next time its the moanarchs who have strengthened up by signing ex tiger Victor Palovaara. Can't wait
  2. This Friday we have a crucial league match with one of the teams tipped for the top - the Rebels. Somerset's top 3 - Rory, Harris (welcome back Chris ) and Covatti can and have scored well at Ashfield. Nico looked really impressive in the GP qualifier. The battle between James and Kurtz should see James come out on top, just. The reserves look interesting with a chance for young Connor Bailey to make a name for himself on his first outing for the club. Should be a cracker and even the weather forecast actually looks good. Thoughts with young Sam Norris and I hope a collection will be held for him at Ashfield.
  3. I actually find it very interesting and revealing, but not sure why its in the Championship part of this Forum.
  4. No! You said they should have been told to race this Friday. Sadly riders are self employed and this Friday wasn't on there list of dates. It is safe to assume that both Glasgow and Newcastle wouldn't have been able to field there full team hence why they allegedly said they couldn't come. Scunthorpe have injury problems and as another poster said the track has taken a pasting from the weather hence why they appear not to be keen. Do you get it now
  5. And you would be happy if two teams full of guests plus r/r plus juniors raced against each other. Throw in the dodgy weather and that would really draw in the crowds. Do you really want scunthorpe to join the ranks of former speedway tracks.
  6. Meanwhile back at Glasgow 2019 glad we've sorted dates for the KO Cup with Redcar. 2nd July at Redcar and Friday 5th July at Glasgow. Should be 2 cracking matches. have to say I'm glad that Ben B has moved on he could have done some damage at Glasgow.
  7. Yeah the irony is that when promoters cheated, riders took bribes and illegally used nitro we had big crowds. Can't help wondering how things would have panned out if we had had social media in those days. Throw in the fact that narrow tracks produced poor racing and then we wonder where it all went wrong.
  8. Following on from the success of the GP qualifier its just a pity we don't have a home team match this weekend. Hope the kids get a good turn out. Who is the next kyle Bickley or Tom brennan or Leon flint all of whom appeared in similar matches in recent years.
  9. Glad you enjoyed it and can't disagree with anything you said other than to add that young Bickley didn't look out of place.
  10. Even more so since he wasn't riding but well done to Pontus Aspgren, fast tidy style and not intimidated by Lambert when he tried forceful overtakes. Holder was ok but seemed down on power unlike Cookie who was fast controlled and totally committed. Well done to everyone at Glasgow for putting on the show and isn’t it great to see loads of kids at the speedway
  11. Practice has taken place and they had to water the track.
  12. The last thing you want is to use the BBC forecast. Try met office weather forecast for possilpark which tends to be not bad. Also the track was fine when the covers were put down and it drains well so can't see lite rain this afternoon being a problem.
  13. According to the Tigers marketing manager from the Tigers Fans Discussion page covers are going down today. To be fair the last 2 days have been dry despite some of the forecasts saying we were due showers. Heres' hoping everything will go ok, really looking forward to it.
  14. Sorry but in this case your opinion is irrelevant. Show me the rule that says practice is compulsory.
  15. Weather forecasts keep changing. Sunday now is meant to be dry and Saturday is showery with what the Met office describes as up to 50% chance of precipitation.
  16. It doesn't help when ta tum and pears on make up there own rules on the starts and, there favourite, first bend bunching and people assume they must be right cos they are getting paid to offer a professional commentary
  17. Wtf are you on about? Dan is and always has been an aces rider. He never agreed to ride for you or any other CL team in 2019.
  18. Presumably she has acted maturely and dealt with the matter privately.
  19. Echo MD's comments. Really entertaining night and slickly run. Managed track grading and watering plus kids race and other giveaways and interviews in around 95 minutes. Young Connor Bailey was there and got a great reception from the crowd. Just wish we had another home match this weekend.
  20. Thanks for the last few posts it's good to know that there are still lots of decent speedway fans on this forum. If your wondering what I mean just take a look at some of the nonsense on the premier league pages.
  21. I posted before asking how Taylor was being bullied and looked up the amow reference as you suggested. I didn't get anywhere other than finding tweets by 2 photographers but no mention of Taylor. Having read more posts is the problem that a group of photographers are making it clear that all there photos are all my own work whilst suggesting that Phil lanning is responsible for some of Taylors. If this is true how is that bullying. And how can people including me say they love Taylors work when it might be Phil that took the photo. Have to agree this could have been dealt with better and also feel that Ian Adams posts have helped me understand what is going on
  22. The guest is for Luke, as you well know. Being in the know can you tell me how the stadium works are doing at Workington hope they don't interfere with the comets plans to return next year. The sport can't afford to lose fans like you
  23. After 2 superb away performances at the tricky technical tracks the boys should be glad to get back to Ashfield. Rasmus did no bad riding at Swindon last night and he and Claus have both qualified for the Danish final. Any sort of win for us will see us into the next round. As paulco says Sheffield have guys that go well around our track so let's pray we get the result we want and that all riders stay safe. Hopefully a good crowd will turn up for what should be a cracking match.
