Why do British 'fans' seem to think only UK riders have problems with set ups. I assume you watched Smektala highly thought of young Pole plus others struggle at Ashfield when Cook went through the card unbeaten in the grand prix qualifier. I

Craig's adventure to qualify for the GPs is over. I wonder how much his injury has affected him plus the Eastbourne stushie. However he did win one race beating Vaculik, Fricke and Pavlic. He also beat Iversen, Lambert and Bellego. Some good scalps seeing as Iversen and Fricke both qualified. On the other hand he must have got the set up wrong in his first race as he finished last with Chris Harris even beating him for 3rd. So a good effort from our captain.

The problem Glasgow has is trying to get all home matches completed before the playoffs and also they have to win them! No match this weekend and the forecast for next week is rain. Without Paul Starke we look vulnerable particularly as we now have 4 young lads in the team. Sam Jensens last bend fall could be crucial as the Tigers would have won the match against the lions and we would be 2 points better of and the lions 3 points worse off. The crucial thing is whether ty Proctor is able to come back after his recent injury and whether Worrall is able to make a comeback.

Plus the crowds were building up nicely and the racing was top notch. Will be a month since the last home match at this rate. just hope the lads don't get caught cold when we return next week weather permitting!

Sure I read that he was injured which is rather unfortunate after being dropped by Sheffield

Thanks for correcting your post. Not a lot of people would have done what you have done

GAZ Just ignore him . Every track has one and to be fair some ex tracks have more than one

Feel sorry for the track staff that stayed till 1am this morning trying to fight the inevitable - photos on official facebook page - thanks for your efforts lads. A great pity on so many fronts that it had to be cancelled. Cookie would have been riding (who knows what will happen after his appeal is heard and whether he'll be able to ride in the re-run) and we had a guest who is well respected at Glasgow in Kevin Doolan. Sheffield would have been weaker with the apparent absence of Kyle Howarth. With the play-off deadline looming we need to get fixtures completed and pick up points so we can try and finish top and get first pick. -

Didn't the boy Edwards also have time on the track? Presumably doing lots of laps would create some wear and tear on the surface including ruts. If the ruts were covered in loose material the surface would look smooth but if you hit one the bike could take of. Perhaps that's why the Glasgow riders were kicking the track and that's why it looked like they were creating holes when they were actually uncovering them. -
150 Sheffield fans and 2 neutrals.

Agreed. Cook pushed the marshall away as I think most people would have done in his situation. The marshall exited the scene. at that point the incident was over or at least should have been. But a host of Eastbourne people - the dugards, track staff, security guards and riders - all confronted Cook and Vissing and the fracas ensued. -
Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final

Quote from SCB statement: Over the last 2 weeks, the SCB Co Ordinator has requested witness statements from a number of licenced officials who were in attendance at the Eastbourne v Glasgow fixture on Saturday 3rd August, and also has reviewed video evidence from the scenes that happened prior to that fixture. The 3rd of August was 8 days ago. Mr Vatcher's time sheets must make interesting reading -
Met Office forecast for Berwick-upon-Tweed looks promising. After Eastbourne it will be nice to visit a friendly venue whose team will be hard but fair. Be interesting to see how our new Danes do. And please no more injuries for either team. Forecast a win for the bandits but may be we'll be worth a point.

I'm glad you think that the Glasgow fans were fine if being glad to get out off the place counts as fine. There comments were posted on a tigers fans page and certainly don't paint a pretty picture. Your last paragraph does not make sense unless you remove 'seemingly'. However whilst it would make grammatical sense it would be factually incorrect. -

I'm not sure what you're saying but the thrust seems to be if you are of a non Glasgow persuasion it is OK to react or even over react whether it is justified or not. If you are of a Glasgow persuasion you should just stand back take all the intimidation, verbal abuse, be pushed and shoved, threatened and punched. Wasn't aware that JC rode for us and we all know what happened to him. -

What actions were taken by the club/rider? In Glasgow's case 3 riders mistakenly (I assume they were advised of the procedures - they are totally different from Glasgow's) rode off before they should have. Red lights (allegedly) are put on, riders have 2 options, go back to an area that is apparently teeming with children, staff etc etc or ride around away from the 'danger area' to the pits. The 3 riders are clearly travelling slowly and headed towards a pit gate when the marshall becomes involved. The marshall having created the problem then walks away and lets other Eastbourne people including Eastbourne riders create a riot. How were the Glasgow management meant to stop a riot? Was Michael Max expected to walk up to the Eastbourne staff/ riders and say 'look could you stop this please, this sort of thing isn't very nice?' -

Very admirable and I'm sure you would therefore agree that the actions of the Eastbourne staff riders hangers on were totally out of order following the Cook/marshall incident? -

I believe from reading comments from other fora from fans that were there, that Peter Facenna apologised for any part that they played BUT didn't take full responsibility for everything that happened and having seen the video you can understand why. And as I also said earlier Peter Facenna is a polite chap. -

Extra work was done which suggests the referee had sympathy for the Glasgow riders concerns
