Don't you find the whole Amarillow thing tedious and cringewrothy now? Was dreading that this year, glad it didn't come. Certainly doesn't pump me up.

I will be shocked if it is anything other than packed, it is always a fantastic occassion when the Robins are in town and that is shown by the support of the loyal fans. Apart from know it all Kelvin Tatum who is jealous he never got to ride for the club and continuously looks for any opportunity to put the club down with his petty little jibes. He has taken it to new levels with his constant slating of Troy Batchelor .

Should Rosco Still Be Team Gb Manager

What has he done to be relieved of his duties? Not dropping a rider who has been the highest scoring in the team and just bagged a full maximum and instead dropping the other rider who just happened to be British? Nationality didn't come down to it and neither should it. If he dropped a rider on the sole basis he is a foreigner, what sort of message does this send out about the sport? Whether in the future he made the right decision to drop Kyle instead of Zengi will only be known in the future but the fact remains that he has made the right decision for the club at time it was made. -
Are There Better Ways To Limit Team Strength?
SpecialOne replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I agree, as I said for these types of riders Britain would probably still be bottom of there agenda if they came back. The end goal has to be to have these types in the Elite league but until things can be drastically changed (probably mainly race nights) and agreed with stadium owners nothing will. As such the future needs to be planned accordingly without trying to tailor a league to suit these types and to produce and even and exciting league. The last thing we want is to make changes to attract these types and have the Laguta's and Miedzinski's of this world losing interest and ruining it. -
Are There Better Ways To Limit Team Strength?
SpecialOne replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't think much can be done, manipulation of averages will always go on in the current system as it has been watered down so much and the team limit average is so low. It wasn't that long ago that teams would try and a good rider on a low average to be reserve and take 7 rides, think likes of Chrzanowski at Swindon a few years back. Now this is limited by the draft as most riders in it are not going to be chosen to replace a rider in the main body of the team (unless that rider is Miedzinski). So the manipulation of averages will only go on more to fit these vast improvers in the main body of the team for the following year or to create space for a new rider this season. All it does it further water down the product we get as fans. -
Nice use of statistics in this comment. A good post. I will trust your stats and won't check them myself.

Very suspicious, perhaps SCB could take off his rose tinted glasses and enlighten us on this subject?
-
I wouldn't worry, i don't expect people take much notice of people who find speedway to be boring unless there is a sufficient level of crashes and injuries.

You do like a good crash.

An enjoyable day with some decent racing, particularity Tai's ride. Definitely the most empty I have seen it though, after heat 4 I moved from my nosebleed seats to some great seats at the very front of the top tier on back straight. Only negative was there was a Coventry fan around but he had nothing to cheer so was ok

Swc...3-man Teams And R/r.
SpecialOne replied to customhouseregular's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
There seems a really easy eay to eradicate this problem, have the same system as current with 4 riders but in reality you have a squad of 5 or 6 day there on the day. You can make as many changes as you like as long as a rider does not have more than 5 rides as current (plus tactical sub). Then there will be no fake injuries as people can change when they want and it will be thecountry with the best squad/team that actually wins the thing. Makes filling a programme more difficult but best team on the day wins and adds more excitement and puts more of an onus on the team manager also. Most teams had some of their squard riders there anyway Howarth, Hans etc. Only problem is someone like Russia but if they can't get a team of 4 riders they probably don't deserve to win the world cup anyway. -

Cardiff is generally about the beer I find so make as much time to pre drink as possible. Also if you take someone who doesn't really like Speedway they are more likely to queue for the beers so you don't even have to get up. -

I din't think it was a particularly bad one, sure he didn't leave too much room but I have seen a lot worse. -

Probably won't bother with this one is it is a PL 6 pointer replacement for AM. Robins very mute on the subject so looking increasingly more likely. -

The meeting cannot be re-stage, that is ludicrous. Why should this instance be so different to any other meeting in the past which has been pushed through for a result? Yes it was on sky but I feel Coventry are now using the fact it was pushed through on sky as more of an excuse than anything else. This has been happening for years and bcuase Coventry lost on sky I dont see why it should be any different. -

Ok so Coventry were happy to ride for the money but once it became clear they would not win they wanted the meeting to be postponed? To be fair any club in their situation would act the same but Havelock comes across less than professional when things are not going his way. -
